Krematoa is the secret lost world of Donkey Kong Country 3 and contains the most difficult levels of the entire game.
Finding Krematoa
On the upper world there are four striking rocks in the water. Take the turboski several times around these rocks.
After a few rounds, the water begins to seething and Krematoa rises from the sea.
Boomers bombings
The levels of Krematoa are initially blocked by rocks. Boomer blows them up for you – but he only accepts bonus coins.
- 1. Exploding: 15 Bonus Coins
- 2. Exploding: 15 Bonus Coins
- 3. Exploding: 15 Bonus Coins
- 4. Exploding: 15 Bonus Coins
- 5. Exploding: 25 Bonus Coins
You therefore ultimately need all 85 bonus coins of the game.
After each completed Krematoa level you get an additional gear. Bring all five to Boomer.
Stampede Sprint
The level starts unusually: right at the beginning there are two bonus barrels above you.
Bonus #1 and #2: Ship your partner up and complete both bonus tasks before you start the actual level.
Then you turn into Ellie and almost automatically race through the jungle.
Bonus #3: Take Parry and bring him unharmed until the end of the level. At the Prohibition Shield, it turns into the third bonus barrel.
DK Coin: Runs to the right after the target flag. Koin is waiting there.
Tip: Parry must not touch a buzz. Jump early so that the bird will fly over the obstacles.
Criss Kross Cliffs
Bazukas shoot the rock face from below with barrels. Use the barrels as moving platforms and work your way up.
Bonus #1: Shortly after the start, you will encounter the first two red buzzes. To the right of them is the bonus barrel.
DK Coin: After the G you will meet another red buzz. Defeat him and drop down at his position. Hold yourselves to the right.
Bonus #2: After the G follows a larger open area. On the right side you can reach the bonus barrel by partner throw.
Tyrant Twin Tussle
The Kuff-’n‘-Klouts always perform in pairs and run aggressively through the caves. Use Squitter’s nets to get over many Enemies easily.
DK Coin: Already relatively early you see a single banana about you. Throw your partner on the raise and get squitter. After the O there is a large opening in the blanket. Build yourselves up there with nets and then create a network platform behind Koin.
Bonus #1: Stay on the road with Squitter and build up immediately before his ban sign.
Bonus #2: To the left of the N is a niche in the blanket.
Bonus #3: Runs to the right after the target flag.
Swoopy Salvo
The Swoopys shoot through the logs and get stuck in it. This creates new platforms in the short term.
Bonus #1: Below the second red buzz, which flies vertically up and down, is the first bonus barrel.
Bonus #2: With a banana tree you can glide up and then left through an opening. Between two red buzzes is an invisible bonus barrel.
DK Coin: After this bonus you turn back and get the required metal barrel.
Bonus #3: Later you’ll encounter several swoopies that fly diagonally from top left to bottom right. Use them as platforms and work your way up to the left.
Rocket Rush
The last regular level has no bonus barrels.
For this you steer a Rocket Barrel through a long shaft.
If you press left, the left drive triggers and moves the Mini Rocket to the right. If you press right, the Mini Rocket moves to the left.
When descent you have to collect fuel barrels regularly. Use the side flames to remove red buzzes.
At the lowest point, the Mini Rocket turns around and starts its ascent.
DK Coin: Koin or the last regular DK Coin is at the end of the level. Leave the Mini Rocket carefully and examine the area at the target flag.
The five gears
For each completed Krematoa level you get a gear.
Bring all five gears to Boomer. His mysterious machine sets in motion and the Volcano becomes active.
K now rises from the water. Rool’s submarine: the Knautilus.
Final Boss: Knautilus
In the final battle, King K enters. Rool against you again.
First you have to avoid his fireballs. Wait for the metal barrel and throw it up so that K. Rool’s suction device sucks it in.
When he comes into your plane with his rocket backpack, move all the way to the left or right and use the metal barrel against his propeller or back.
Later, K. Rool electric rays. Put the metal barrel in front of you and use it as protection as you move to the safe side of the arena.
Repeat the attack pattern until King K. Rool is finally defeated.
As a reward, you get the 41. DK Coin.
