Find 47 chests in Donkey Kong Adventure: forty along the area and hub routes, three unlocked by all twenty Puzzle Pieces and four unlocked by the twelve regular Challenges. The route chests include Museum items, Runes and the optional bonus-course weapons. The final four rewards are Museum collectibles, not additional weapons.
This route groups Banana Lagoon’s ten area chests with the four hub-pipe chests, then continues through six in the Reef, eleven in the Jungle and nine in the Dungeon. Numbers identify this route’s entries. The linked video section for each chest shows its approach and puzzle; the text explains the key landmarks and mechanisms.
A weapon reward unlocks a purchase in Battle HQ. Opening its chest does not automatically equip it. Return after the story for the four hub-pipe rewards and any missed side paths.
Banana Lagoon
1 — Tropical Collector — 3D model
At the first four-brazier puzzle, follow the banana trail to the left and forward to red. Press it and open the exposed model chest; this lights the first brazier.

2 — Tropical Smasher — 3D model
From the first lit brazier, take the ramp on its right to blue. Activate it and open the chest to the left of the central braziers.

3 — Shipwreck Cove — artwork
Find the yellow switch above the two movable blocks. Shift the left block left and forward, then push the right block against it. Use the pipe to reach the upper switch, press yellow and take the newly exposed pipe to the artwork.

4 — Tropical Ziggy — 3D model
From the lower route of that same puzzle, take the new pipe and push the block near its exit. Descend by the green-marked ledge, press green and move the block toward the pink trophy-marked reward tile.

5 — One Rune
Opening the four outer chests lights all four braziers. Return to their central platform and open the formerly locked chest for the Rune.

6 — Lagoon Promenade — music
After Bananas Gone Bad, solve the two-block crossing. Bring the left block around toward your approach side, then push the other block against it to fill the gap to the chest.

7 — Banana Battles — music
Beyond The Honey Bombers, take the left branch at the two totems. Move the center block forward, the right block onto yellow and the left block beyond green. Use the raised yellow block to position the former center block on red; put the left block on green, shift the red block onto the pink reward tile and finish with the right block on blue.

8 — Tropical Hopper — 3D model
Past the Rabbids playing drums, take the branch beyond the yellow star marker. In the two-block bridge puzzle, activate the red-and-blue, red-and-green, then blue-and-yellow combinations to extend the three crossings. For the chest, leave one block on yellow and the other off blue so the last route remains accessible.

9 — Goliath Grouper — Rabbid Peach’s Sentry
At the twin-totem gate, first solve the face combinations that light all gate flames. Before leaving, solve the reversed condition with every flame extinguished to expose the golden bonus entrance. In the timed course, push the barrel cart along its rails and activate the banana switches as you climb. The reward unlocks this Sentry for purchase.

10 — The Twin Totems — artwork
Beyond the opened totem gate, take the pipe branching off on the right. Combine the colored platforms to lower the barriers and reach the white switches. Keep a route back to the controls while opening each section; the final connected route reaches the artwork.

11 — Donkey Kong — 3D model
Return to the restored Washing Machine’s hub and enter the wooden pipe toward the Banana Lagoon Challenges. Open the model chest on that side route.

15 — Side Eye’s Sanctuary — artwork
After Spitting Image, explore the small block puzzle beside the DK barrel. Fill its gaps to connect the approach with the artwork platform before continuing past the huge electric guitar.

16 — Reef Lovin’ — music
Beyond Smuggler’s Blues, turn right at the branching area, then right again into the pipe hidden among the rocks. It reaches the soundtrack chest.

Return to the junction, take the left pipe and then the right branch. Beside the Rabbid licking a pearl, explore the right-hand block puzzle; the Puzzle Piece is on the opposite left branch.

18 — Beef on the Reef — music
Pass the Rabbid in the oyster and activate red. From that starting arrangement, use yellow, green, yellow, red, green, blue, yellow, red, yellow, green and yellow to connect the route to the chest. If the controls were already changed, reset or inspect the platform connections before applying the sequence.

19 — Mid-Boss Hot Sauce — Donkey Kong’s Ground Pound
After Filched Fragments, number the musical altar’s seven buttons from left to right. Repeat 1-1-6, then 4-5-4-2, then 2-2-7-5-6-5-3 to open the story route. The optional bonus melody is 1-1-3-4-5-6-6-7-6-4; complete the exposed bonus course to unlock the weapon.

Past the musical bone gate, turn right before Finn’s arena at the skateboarding Rabbid. Solve the side block puzzle for the artwork. Check behind the rocks left of the reward for the area’s final Puzzle Piece.

Jungle
21 — Tropical Buckler — 3D model
After Coconut Shunt, pass the enormous Rabbid vacuum and take the block puzzle on the left. Work the blocks around its colored platforms, collecting the Puzzle Piece during the route, then open the model chest.

22 — The Crab Yard — artwork
Beyond Kidnapped Components, use the right barrel from the pair after collecting the tree-top Puzzle Piece from the left. At the next four-brazier puzzle, climb the left ramp but take its right branch before entering the top barrel. Descend opposite the three gray blocks and use the banana pipe to reach the first chest.

In the same brazier section, move a block onto green to shift the adjoining platform. Climb back along the ramp and use the newly aligned route to Finn’s model.

24 — Tropical Summoner — 3D model
From Finn’s chest, turn back and enter the wooden pipe on the right. Put the block on blue, then return through the wooden and banana pipes. Pass the braziers, turn right and descend through the gap left by the blue blocks. Press red and descend with the moving platform; press yellow after opening the chest.

25 — Midboss Melody — music
From the Summoner branch, take the banana pipe and finish the lower colored-block puzzle. The connected return route reaches the fourth outer chest above.

26 — Two Runes
With all four Jungle braziers lit, return to their central chest. It contains two Runes rather than another weapon.

27 — Jungle Jingle — music
Climb back to the top ramp and enter the barrel. On its far side, descend to the left-hand platform and take the optional barrel to the large sliding-block puzzle. Work one block through the open lane at a time and use the raised platforms as stops; the linked video shows the full arrangement changes.

28 — Jungle Palette — artwork
After that sliding puzzle, take the corner barrel, then the second barrel on the L-shaped platform and the third on the T-shaped platform. Collect the high-platform Puzzle Piece and descend through the pipe to this artwork chest.

29 — Jungle Joust — music
After Supply Deny, take the small puzzle on the left. Use the fixed gray block as the reference for the movable arrangement and open the soundtrack reward.

30 — The Climbers — artwork
After Bad Banana Bonanza, take the left barrel and then the right wooden pipe for the low-ledge Puzzle Piece. Return to the block puzzle. From its starting state, activate red-green-blue-yellow-blue-green-red-white, then blue-red-green-yellow-blue-red-green-red to open the artwork route.

31 — Gold-Plated Paroxysm — Rabbid Cranky’s Barrel Bolt
At the vine-blocked gate, redirect the water away from the vines and toward the bridge to open the main path. Before leaving, reconnect the optional water branches to fill the bonus reservoirs and expose the golden barrel. Complete its course to unlock Cranky’s boss-focused weapon.

Dungeon
32 — “Dried” on the Vine — artwork
At the Dungeon’s first four-brazier section, face the onward exit and take the southwestern puzzle. Start with the block between the broken pillars and build a crossing toward the chest without trapping the second block.

North of the preceding artwork, use the movable blocks to fill the gaps in the next platform route. Reach the outer chest before returning to the central braziers.

Explore the upper platform in the southeastern part of the same section. Reposition the blocks to preserve the return route while opening access to its chest.

Use the two remaining blocks to activate red and blue. Cross the newly connected platforms to the fourth outer chest.

From Dungeon Dispute, explore right for a Puzzle Piece, then enter the barrel to the colored-block puzzle. Release its second block with yellow-green-red-blue. For the artwork, use green-gray-yellow-blue. The additional Puzzle Piece needs green-red, with the block formerly on yellow, then blue-gray-green.

Beyond Com-Bust-ables, collect the two nearby side-route Puzzle Pieces, then continue to the next block puzzle. Keep the center lane available while moving blocks between the raised platforms so the route to the soundtrack remains traversable.

Before Deity Hostility, take the left barrel and descend for the last Puzzle Piece. Continue through the barrels to the large spiral block puzzle. Use the ramps to reach the switches as the blocks advance around the spiral; the time-linked video covers the complete long sequence.

Collect all twenty Puzzle Pieces and return to the completed hub puzzle. Cross the bridge it forms and open the first of the three weapon chests.

All twenty Puzzle Pieces
There are five pieces in each of the four areas. Collect them during the chest route, then return to the hub’s large puzzle for the three weapon chests listed above. A completed battle or opened nearby chest does not automatically collect a piece on a side platform.
1 — Banana Lagoon
After the two-block puzzle for Lagoon Promenade, take the story route toward The Honey Bombers. The first piece is on the connecting path.
2 — Banana Lagoon
Beyond The Honey Bombers, turn left among the huts and climb their ramps to the upper piece.
3 — Banana Lagoon
At the Rabbids bouncing on drums, take the left branch and climb through the wooden pipe.
4 — Banana Lagoon
At the yellow star tied to a mast, continue forward and climb the spiral ramp to the barrel lighthouse.
5 — Banana Lagoon
Before the twin-totem gate, look between the two torches for a small left descent. The piece is beneath the bridge; use the barrel to return.
6 — Reef
After Side Eye, take the coral pipe on the newly opened route. The piece is directly along its exit path.
7 — Reef
At the Rabbid licking a pearl, take the left branch before solving the model puzzle on the right.
8 — Reef
Before Filched Fragments, take the left pipe from the approach and then the next pipe on its side branch.
9 — Reef
After Filched Fragments, inspect the narrow recess on the right before reaching the musical altar.
10 — Reef
Past the musical bone gate, turn right at the skateboarding Rabbid. Look behind the rocks to the left of the Music Scales artwork reward.
11 — Jungle
After Coconut Shunt, enter the block puzzle to the left of the enormous Rabbid vacuum. Collect the piece while working toward the Tropical Buckler model.
12 — Jungle
After Kidnapped Components, choose the left of the two barrels, the one without a banana in front, to reach the tree-top piece.
13 — Jungle
Beyond Jungle Jingle, take the corner barrel, the second barrel on the L-shaped platform and the third on the T-shaped platform to the high square landing.
14 — Jungle
Continue past the barrel route and Pac-Man-style scene to the ruined temple. Check behind its statue.
15 — Jungle
After Bad Banana Bonanza, enter the left barrel, take the wooden pipe on the right and descend the platforms to the hidden lower piece.
16 — Dungeon
From the Dungeon Dispute chest, take the right branch before entering the next barrel.
17 — Dungeon
In the Old Smuggler’s Caves block puzzle, obtain the artwork first, then work the extra green-red-blue-gray-green route for the piece, moving the block formerly on yellow onto red when needed.
18 — Dungeon
After Com-Bust-ables, descend the ramp and inspect the low side opening before continuing along the main route. The return barrel rejoins that route.
19 — Dungeon
Near the preceding side route, go left toward the pillars and take the optional barrel to the next piece.
20 — Dungeon
Before the third Dungeon battle, turn left into the barrel route and descend its platforms. Collect the final piece before continuing toward the spiral block puzzle.
