Warp Whistles and the Shortcut to World 8

Super Mario Advance 4: Super Mario Bros. 3 guide hub

You can find a total of three flutes in Super Mario Bros. 3. With these special items you can enter the warp world and skip large parts of the game.

Particularly practical: If you use a Warp Whistle and then immediately use a second Warp Whistle in the warp world, you will immediately reach the area that takes you to World 8. This allows you to jump almost to the finale very early in the game.

All Warp Whistles

Warp Whistle Location Short explanation
1. Warp Whistle World 1-3 Run over the white block behind the goal and enter the secret mushroom house.
2. Warp Whistle Mini castle in World 1 Fly over the ceiling with Raccoon Mario and reach the secret room.
3. Warp Whistle World 2 Obtain the hammer, destroy rocks on the map and defeat the hidden Hammer brothers.

How to Use Warp Whistles

If you use a Warp Whistle, you will end up in the Warp World. There you can select different worlds depending on your starting point.

The fastest way to World 8 works like this:

  1. First collect two flutes, preferably the two flutes from World 1.
  2. Use the first Warp Whistle on the world map.
  3. You end up in the warp world.
  4. Use the second Warp Whistle there straight away.
  5. Now you enter the warp area to World 8.

1. Warp Whistle in World 1-3

You can find the first Warp Whistle in World 1-3. Shortly before the goal you reach a white block that floats freely in the air.

Stand on this white block and crouch for a few seconds. This causes Mario to fall behind the level of the level. Then just keep running to the right until you reach the goal.

In the finish area you don’t run to the end normally, but behind the black curtain. This will take you to a secret mushroom house. There you will receive the first Warp Whistle.

2. Warp Whistle in the fortress of World 1

The second Warp Whistle is hidden in the fortress of World 1. The best way to do this is to play as Raccoon Mario. So you need the super leaf or the raccoon costume.

Shortly before the first door, start from the right until the P bar is filled. Then jump off and fly up over the edge of the screen. There is a hidden passage above the visible level.

At the top, continue to the right. At the end you will reach a secret room with a chest. The second Warp Whistle is in this chest.

3. Warp Whistle in World 2

You get the third Warp Whistle in World 2. To do this you first need a hammer as a card item. You get this when you defeat a certain Hammer Bro on the world map.

Then use the hammer on the top right of the world map to remove the blocking rock. This opens a secret path.

At the end of this path there is another fight against the Hammer brothers. Defeat them to receive the third Warp Whistle as a reward.
