Walkthrough
- Collect the young Huffin Puffin near the start. It follows Yoshi and acts like a returning egg, bouncing off surfaces and retrieving objects.
- Reveal the next chick in the leaves left of the large tree. Climb inside the trunk for chicks on the left branch, right branch and upper rebound route.
- Find another on the raised platform by the lily pads. Use your companions to collect it and to fish the flower out of the opening below the leaves.
- Reach the nest beneath the right cliff and return six chicks to the parent for the first Big Discovery. There are eight young in the habitat altogether: keep exploring and reunite all eight for the additional family discovery.
Smiley Flower locations

Smiley Flower 1 — Upper tree
Upper tree: bounce a chick from the wall to reach the high flower.
Smiley Flower 2 — Lily-pad opening
Lily-pad opening: throw a chick into the gap from which the leaves grow.
Smiley Flower 3 — Blocked cave
Blocked cave: hit the plant above the cave, use it to break the rock, then clear the crates inside.
Creatures and additional discoveries
Yoshi can carry six followers at a time, which is not the total number of chicks on the page. A chick replaces an ordinary egg if the queue is full. Apples, note fruit and peppers change the chicks' colours and throwing effects. Avoid hitting the parent after a reunion, as that scatters its young again.

- Finish the main objective before entering the sparkly exit.
