Frog Coins are the green special currency used at Tadpole Pond and Seaside Town. Ordinary yellow coins cannot replace them at these merchants. They come from hidden chests, course rewards and repeatable minigames, so a costly purchase is not permanently locked if you spend some early.
One-time treasure routes
Open the hidden-treasure locations. It includes Frog Coins in Mushroom Kingdom, Rose Town, Pipe Vault, Yo’ster Isle, Booster Tower, Land’s End, Belome Temple, Monstro Town and Nimbus Land. Other visible Frog Coin chests and loose coins are separate from the thirty-nine invisible treasures.
Repeatable methods
- Midas River: collect coins through the waterfall and barrel route, then exchange the run’s total. Unexchanged progress is carried toward later attempts.
- Forest Maze Wigglers: land ten successive overworld jumps on a Wiggler without touching the ground for a Frog Coin.
- Land’s End cliff: improve the Paratroopa climb and repeat a successful timed run. Learn a clean landing sequence before rushing for the record reward.
- Sky Bridge: the Expert challenge awards Frog Coins and offers higher stakes after success. Stop and take the reward if the harder repeat is unreliable.
Useful early purchases
Consider the EXP accessory for a character you want to level, or save for the FP-cost accessory when your strategy relies on frequent special moves. Avoid buying every consumable just because you can afford it. Check the intended wearer and shop price before spending a large part of the total.
