There are 39 Hidden Treasures. These are the invisible chests, not every visible box or loose Frog Coin. This checklist groups them by area; its numbering is for this page. The empty Forest Maze chest still counts as discovered.
SNES missable: collect the entrance-hall chest in Mushroom Castle before the first throne-room story visit. Keep a separate early save. The Signal Ring arrives much later in Nimbus Land.

Mushroom Kingdom
- Frog Coin: Stand on Toad in the castle entrance, jump to the top of the doorway and jump again. The SNES opportunity is only before the first throne-room visit; the Switch Toad makes it reachable later.
- Flower: In the item-shop basement, follow the Toad’s jumping tutorial.
- Flower: In the same basement, ride the Toad’s head to the far corner and jump.
Bandit’s Way
- Kerokero Cola: Use the spinning flower in the second area to jump toward the blue flower beyond the moving platforms.
Rose Town
- Frog Coin: Jump from the item-shop shelves at their far corner.
- Frog Coin: Jump on the bed upstairs in the house on the hill.
Forest Maze
- Kerokero Cola: Jump near the west edge of the entrance clearing.
- Frog Coin: After emerging from the first underground passage, search beside the stump near the trees.
- Flower: In the seven-stump clearing, descend the first stump on the right and jump in the lit patch near the spring.
- Empty: Descend the second stump on the left and jump near the corner by its spring. The empty result still counts as found.
- Kerokero Cola: Wake the Wiggler in the far stump, re-enter and search where it had been lying.
- Red Essence: Search the corner of the save clearing before Bowyer. In the Switch remake this clearing is after the maze junctions; on SNES it is before them.
Pipe Vault
- Frog Coin: Enter the early treasure pipe, reveal the invisible stepping block and jump along the upper brick ledge for the first hidden chest.
- Frog Coin: Continue along that same upper ledge and search a few tiles before the visible chest.
Yo’ster Isle
- Frog Coin: Search behind the save block near the pipe entrance.
Booster Pass
- Flower: Stand on the single cactus or plant at the left side of the first area and jump.
- Rock Candy: Jump near the upper ledge’s corner beside the exit to the second area.
Booster Tower
- Frog Coin: In the stairs room with endlessly descending Snifits, search just off the top corner.
- Frog Coin: After the Thwomp seesaw launch, search the lower western corner.
- Mushroom: In the upper save room before the curtains, jump at the lower corner near the small platforms.
- Goodie Bag: In that same save room, stand on the visible treasure chest and jump above it.
Marrymore
- Frog Coin: In the inn’s normal guest room, stand on the high shelf and jump at its corner.
Sunken Ship
- Kerokero Cola: In the duplicate-Mario room, reveal the invisible stepping block near the lit floor. Stand on the clone to reach the elevated chest before fighting or leaving it.
Land’s End
- Red Essence: From the first cannon’s moving platform, jump north at its highest point.
- Kerokero Cola: In the second cannon area, reveal the hidden step near the pit, fire onto it and reach the upper western corner.
- Frog Coin: Jump between the two flowers on the eastern edge of the spinning-flower area.
- Frog Coin: In the cliff-hole detour toward Kero Sewers, jump at the upper corner near the stairs.
Belome Temple
- Frog Coin: After the first fortune gate, jump onto a visible chest and upward for the hidden one.
- Frog Coin: In the same chamber, search the lower corner beside the stairs.
Monstro Town
- Frog Coin: In the world-map exit passage, jump between the wall and the flowering shrub.
Bean Valley
- Frog Coin: Take the right pipe at the start and search the west end of the next area.
- Red Essence: In the five-pipe clearing, defeat the plant on the eastern pipe, enter and search the corner beside the steps.
- Kerokero Cola: Take the southeastern plant pipe and search the corner beyond the slot-machine chest.
Nimbus Land
- Frog Coin: Jump from the high item-shop crates to the hidden chest above their far side.
Nimbus Castle
- Frog Coin: From the three-door hall, take the left route and search the staircase passage near the entrance to the prisoner room.
- Frog Coin: In that staircase passage, walk through the hidden wall path and jump at its dead end.
- Frog Coin: Beyond Birdo, jump onto the visible chest and then upward.
- Frog Coin: After defeating Valentina, return to the three-door hall and search near its northwestern corner.
Weapon World
- Mushroom: Jump just west of the second save block before the Ultra Hammer route.
Check your remaining total
Speak to the treasure chest upstairs in Monstermama’s house in Monstro Town to check how many invisible treasures remain. A loose hidden Frog Coin, such as the one behind Booster Tower’s wall, does not necessarily count as an invisible chest.
If an area’s chest has already been found, no new box appears when you jump there. Work from the remaining counter and your own checklist instead of searching every visible treasure again.
