Western access to the lava region
- Surviving the Fire Piranha Plant Run
The P Switch stands east of Wario Stadium, just past the border between the Wild West and the lava region. The fire piranha plants spit their shells in a fixed rhythm. Only drive past a plant after it has shot and switch to the open side of the road early.
- Borrow a truck and break everything
Follow the road northeast of Wario Stadium. The P Switch is located directly on the roadside.Take over the provided truck and ram the marked obstacles. Avoid tight corners at full speed, as the heavy vehicle can only be realigned slowly.
- Climb one crane and avoid the next
The counter is next to the dash food snack to the west of Toad’s Factory.Drive up the first crane and observe the movement of the second crane. Jumps only when its arm forms a free landing surface.
- Drive through the gaps of the steel girders
Seek the underpass northeast of Wario Stadium between two red bridges. The steel girders are staggered on the track. Stay as centered as possible and only make short steering movements so that you can immediately control the next one after a gap.
- Proving special skill on the wire rope
The P Switch stands at the northern end of the underpass.Jump on the narrow rope and keep the vehicle as straight as possible. Too strong corrections lead to a crash faster than a slightly offset driving position.
- Crossing the carriers of the destroyed bridge
North of Wario Stadium is a damaged bridge over the underpass. The switch is right next to it.Travel from one carrier to the next. Do not charge your jumps completely, otherwise you will easily overshoot the narrow landing areas.
- Crossing the rolling Grrrols
The P Switch stands on another red bridge northeast of Wario Stadium.Watch the rolling opponents from a distance. Drive immediately behind a rolled-by Grrrol through the gap before the next one reaches the track.
Central fortress and circular lava lake

- With one trick after another racing over the track
The counter is located in the middle of the fortress wall below the ascent to Bowser’s Castle.Perform a trick on any suitable ramp and wall edge. A brought mushroom item makes the section after the second time ring easier if the wallrides still cause you difficulties.
- Slide past several fireball waves
The P Switch stands below Bowser’s Castle on the third narrow lava strip from the left.Observe the trajectories of the fireballs and travel between two waves. Do not stay on the edge, as there is hardly any room to avoid.
Airship Fortress
- Drifting to the top of the winding tower
The counter is on the road to the fortress to the left of the starting line of the Flying Fortress.Start each drift before the actual turn and trigger several short mini-turbos instead of pulling a long drift to the outer edge.
- End a long flight with a hit
Follow the route from the starting line. Inside the airship, turns right to the lower levels. After the moving flames, stay right and use the Cannon to reach a smaller ship with the P Switch. In flight you have to hit the target like a golf tee. Steer only gently and align yourself early on the marked opening.

- Reach the Airship Fortress with a connecting flight
Follow from the previous switch the raised wall passage. The next P Switch is on an elevated section to the right of the way.Use the flying rings as a connection to the Flying Fortress. Avoid unnecessary height corrections and follow the intended curve.
- Fly safely over the big lava lake
Continue to follow the wall passage of Mission 26. Northeast of the circular lava lake stands the P Switch.Stay in the flyrings and always align yourself to the next safe section. A landing in the lava sets you back a long way.
- Crossing a path of tubes and rings
The switch is at the end of the elevated path along the lava flow, near the patterned lava lake.Drive through the tubes and align with the next ring after each shooting. Avoids heavy steering movements immediately after tube flight.
Climb to Bowser’s Castle
- Coping with the left climb without mushrooms
The P Switch stands immediately east of Mission 14 next to the towers on the ascent to Bowser’s Castle.Uses ramps, jump tricks and short drifts. Since no mushrooms are available, speed should hardly be lost on the steep sections.
- And then the mushrooms rise to the right.
The switch is on the other side of the towers opposite Mission 29.Set the mushrooms on the slowest and steepest sections of the road. Do not waste any thrust immediately before a tight curve.
- When Bullet Bill races through the fire inferno

The P Switch is on the way immediately to the left of the Bowser’s Castle starting line. The opponents block different lanes. Use attack sites or drive immediately behind their movements through the gaps created.
- Jumping along the walls of Bowser’s Castle
Take the blue path to the left from the starting line and drive on the outer track. Jumps to the wider left outer rail. Follow up to a bottom section with Warp-Warp Pipe. Leave the track before the Warp Pipe, turn around and look for the P Switch. The mission requires several changes between walls and rails. Directs the vehicle to the next surface during the jump.
- Collect blue coins around the hot snack bar
Drive straight from the starting line and jump to the big chain on the left. Follow up; the P Switch is directly ahead.Collect the coins around the snack bar and pay attention to fire and lava obstacles.
- Perform tricks without crashing into the lava basins
Take the left path from the starting line and ride on the extreme left track. Follow it until the switch appears on the left.Only performs tricks on safe edges. A boisterous trick costs less time than a complete fall into the lava.
Dry Bones rally
- Collect blue coins on the wire
Drive from the starting line of the Dry Bones Rally to the right. Leave the track in front of Yoshi snack bar to the left and follow the dirt road uphill. The P Switch stands near a ramp on the summit.Jump on the rope and go straight as possible. For laterally offset coins, small corrections are sufficient.
- Dodge fireballs and collect blue coins
Follow the same path as Mission 38. Turns, however, in the terrain section with the partially dug wooden crates. The P Switch is nearby. At the same time, observe the coin route and the fireball trajectories. Don’t chase a coin when a fire wave is blocking the way.
Hot springs and cemeteries

The P Switch stands on a rock at the southern end of the large lake at the entrance to the snow region.Steers only gently on the ice surface and starts every change of direction early. Several short mini-turbos are safer than a long drift.
- Collect the blue coins from DK Pass
The counter is located on the first raised platform near the finish line of DK Pass.Collect the coins along the elevated route. Pay particular attention to individual coins on the outsides of the platforms.
- Special skill test No 5 consist of:
The P Switch is on the second elevated platform near the finish line of DK Pass. The test combines narrow platforms, jumps and railings. Uses the rewinding function to practice problematic pieces individually.
Vanilla Lake area
- Pay attention to snowball obstacles on the slope
The switch is at the bottom of the slope leading to the Vanilla Lake homage. You can recognize the area by its colorful track boundaries.Dodges the snowballs laterally and does not remain on the outer side of the road for too long after an evasive maneuver.
- A Tribute to Circling Vanilla Lake
The P Switch is located on the eastern side of the small retro circuit. The ice blocks change the possible lane. If possible, drive inside without getting stuck between several obstacles.
- Collect blue coins during the Penguin Parade
Drive a short distance from the previous counter and leave the actual circuit. The penguins move in groups. Drive past behind a group instead of forcing a narrow gap immediately in front of it.
Mountain plateaus between Sky-High Sundae and Star Peak
- On the way to the goal, defy the strong wind
The P Switch stands southwest of the Sky-High Sundae on the edge of a high mountain cliff.Steer early against the wind and jump off the platforms as straight as possible. Strong corrections in the air cost altitude.
- Reach the frozen summit as soon as possible
Complete Mission 13. The next P Switch is on the snowy plateau at the end of the mission. The route leads steeply uphill. Avoid collisions with snow pokeys and use every ramp for a jump boost.
Sky-High Sundae
- Bravely Escape from the Ice Cream Gorge
The P Switch stands next to a small waffle ramp in front of a pink ice cream wall.Drive over the waffle ramps and use the walls for short wallrides. Jumps in time before the wall buckles in an unfavorable direction.
- With an accurately used mushroom, break the goal
Follow the yellow path at the crossroads. Driving on one? Panel past and up to the ramp on which the P Switch stands.Save the mushroom for the destructible blockade or the slowest underground world. Do not use it on the first straight.
Star Summit and the Observatory
- Race at full speed through the observatory
The P Switch stands directly to the right of the entrance of the observatory. The route is designed for speed. Avoid unnecessary drifts and use ramps for additional trick boosts.
- Sliding high over the snowy slopes
At the start of the Star Summit, drop over the front edge of the track on a lower snow platform. This is the P Switch.Follow the flyrings and keep the vehicle as quiet as possible. Before landing, set out on the mountain road.
- Crossing the Unfinished Shortcut
Follow the icy paths south of the star summit. The switch is in the snow on a winding side route. This mission is one of the most difficult P-switches in the game. First charge a jump, then go into a wallride and jump over the big gap on the narrow path. Then repeat the combination of charged jump and wallride.
Tip: Uses a light driver and a vehicle with good handling. As a result, you gain a little more height during the jumps and can correct the narrow landing area more easily.
- With boosts, mastering the impassable cross-field inroute
The P Switch stands on the snowy path southeast below the star summit.Starts the spurts of acceleration on deep snow and on steep climbs. On a solid underground world you can keep enough speed without an item.
- Fighting the Ice Birds Attack
The switch is located in the snow near several halfpipes, immediately after the end of Mission 19.Dodges the birds laterally and uses the halfpipes for jump tricks. Do not stay directly under a circling bird.
Northwest railway line and autumn border
- Show rail tricks and collect blue coins
The P Switch stands right next to the railway tracks in the northwestern corner of the snow region.Travel on the rails south towards the autumn region. Performs tricks at transitions and only jumps to another track if the coin track leads clearly there.
- Sailing through the sky to the destination
The counter is located next to the Yoshi restaurant on the border between the snow region and Cheep Cheep Falls.Follow the flight rings and avoid unnecessary changes of direction. At the last section, let yourself sink slightly instead of overshooting the landing area.
- Collecting Blue Coins Between Ice Piranha Plant Attacks
Drive southeast from the star summit across the snowy off-road areas. The P Switch is located on a viewpoint above the icy access road.Use the rocks as cover and travel to the next coin group after an attack.
Outer rings of the star summit
- Circling the Observatory and collecting blue coins
The P Switch stands on the highest outer ring of the star summit.Drive the route to the second turn of the yellow-blue path. Drop left to the lower level, drive through the warp pipe and then use the acceleration ramp on the tower. Aim for the first outer ring.
Drive the ring completely and pay attention to coins on the outside edge.
- Avoiding the Ice Brothers Attacks
The switch stands on the second, lower-lying outer ring.First reach the upper ring as in Mission 25 and then drop one level lower in a controlled manner. Drive past them after an attack by the Ice Brothers.
Rotating ice cream bag and western cottage village
- Reaching the tip of the rotating ice cream cone
Drive in the Sky-High Sundae until the blue-yellow division. Drop on the right and follow the path behind the warp pipe. The switch stands next to several strawberry slices.Ride on the rotating ice cream bag against its movement to control your position. Use short jumps at the transitions.
- Through the traffic to the ski slopes race
Start at DK Pass and drive to the hut village west of the route. Surrounds the lake to the west side. In front of a wooden slope is the P Switch.Change lane early and use large vehicles as wind protection without staying directly behind them.
- winding through the traffic jam to the destination
Follow the northeastern streets from DK Pass to a Yoshi restaurant at an intersection. Take the dirt road to the right and follow it to the counter.Pass between rows of vehicles. Avoid drifting in a narrow gap, as the vehicle shears out laterally.
- Mastering a particularly long gliding flight
Drive to the ski hut village and climb the cliffs north of the houses. This is the P Switch.Accelerates completely in front of the ramp and follows the flight rings. Incline the vehicle only slightly downwards so that you cover enough distance.
- When collecting all blue coins up and down
The counter stands a little north of the hut village next to the route limits of DK Pass. The coins are at different heights. Use the ground waves and ramps without jumping to the maximum at each elevation.
- Collect blue coins in slalom downhill
Follow the Slalompist north of DK Pass and stay on the left side. The P Switch is at the top.Drive in wide arcs around the gates. Too close steering movements cause the vehicle to break out on the snow.
Ice Roads between Star Summit and Sky-High Sundae
- Force Happiness with Green Tanks
At the summit of the stars, drop to the level below and follow the left path to the floating ice roads. On the right side, a cloud blows strong wind. The switch is behind a ramp with two flags.Use the Green Tanks to get rid of enemies and ice blocks. Keep at least one tank behind your vehicle as protection.
- Cutting through ice skating training
Drive from DK Pass through the underground tunnel roads. After the tunnel exit, follow the icy path towards Sky-High Sundae. The switch is on the left behind the first ramp.Avoid long drifts on the ice. Several short changes of direction allow for a more accurate line between the ice skaters.
South-Western Sea and railway line
- Take the train to the destination
Drive to the lake in the southwest corner of the snow region. Follow the road around the lake to an intersection and take the path up the snow slope on the left. At the train tracks, turn right towards the bridge to Cheep Cheep Falls.Jump on the moving train and stay on the middle of the wagons if possible. Use jumps only when changing between different height wagons.
- Race past the fuzzies and collect blue coins
Follow the road south around the lake until the Yoshi snack. Take the left path at the intersection and jump on the ascending railway tracks. Drive on the rails until the P Switch appears. The rewind function does not reliably protect you from failure when you hit. Perform a trick immediately in front of the Fuzzies or get them out of the way with Green Tanks.
Eastern Slalompists and Train Station
- Go downhill with the snowballs
You can reach the switch from the Star Summit or from DK Pass. Drive into the lower slalom area and follow the route up to the cable car cables. The P Switch stands to the right of a Mario-Kart banner.Drive immediately behind the snowballs downhill. Do not try to overtake them on narrow sections of the track.
- Climb the slippery slope to the finish
Drop down at the top of the stars and follow the right road to the ice paths. Passes two wind clouds, jumps over the ramp and then takes the left ice path.Keep the vehicle as straight as possible and use boosts only on the steepest sections.
- Race with mushrooms to the station
The P Switch is on the snowy road after the ice paths. Then go to the right side and follow the right path.Divide the mushrooms so that you have at least one push available on the last climb to the station.
- Collecting All Snowmen’s Blue Coins
Turns to Mission 39 at the station and follows the road slightly north. In addition to a tent camp of several Toads, the last P Switch of the snow region stands on a rock.Search all the snowmen. Some coins appear only after you have rammed or destroyed a Snowman.
