The Last Spark Hunter takes the nine heroes to the Melodic Gardens. Follow Harmony Disruption through Music Jungle and Concert Pond, then A Friend In Need through the Swamp and Flooded Ruins. This guide covers Kanya’s two machines, the Melosphere rescues, all optional quests, five new Sparks and the fourteen Memories.
Progression and a balanced party
This adventure starts the heroes at level 30, with the Spark skill branches already unlocked. The level cap is 40. The earlier thirty battle Sparks begin at level 4 and can be upgraded to level 5; the five new arrivals also use the DLC’s progression.
Build around an attacker, movement and protection rather than using three damage specialists with no recovery. Rabbid Peach is useful for sustaining a long rescue mission, Peach can shield a carrier, and Edge’s multiple Dashes are particularly valuable against Golems. Rabbid Mario supplies powerful close-range area attacks once he can approach safely.
Use Tacticam on new enemies. Flamin’ Golems are weak to Splash, Tidal Golems to Shock and Shockin’ Golems to Ooze. A defeated Golem enters a temporary state and revives if left alone: finish it with a Dash instead of spending the next turn fighting the same full threat again. Fieldbreakers create hazardous Darkmess zones; do not end an otherwise successful move inside one.
Harmony Disruption — Music Jungle and Concert Pond
The March of the Golems
Follow the jungle route and use Scan Power on gaps that conceal a crossing. The first main battle is a Reach Area objective. Clear the enemy controlling the next safe landing, chain Team Jumps and move a hero into the marked goal. Defeating every Golem is unnecessary, but any one you knock into its weakened state should be Dashed before it regenerates. Winning rescues Berserk.
Beyond the fight, keep the path’s switches and gates connected while moving the colored key pieces to their matching devices. Use Wave Power on the musical vegetation and scan apparent dead ends. When a Darkmess Eye obstructs the route, find the local egg rather than trying to remove it with an unrelated exploration power.
Missing Musicians
At Concert Pond, rescue the trapped Rabbid musicians. Check the position of each cage and the enemy lanes between them before splitting the party. Fieldbreakers can make a direct-looking route dangerous, so clear their threat or approach from another angle.
Use protection for a hero committed to a rescue and keep the rest of the team close enough to support the next move. Do not spend the whole turn chasing an enemy beyond a musician who can already be freed. Complete the rescues to obtain Vampgeddon and the Concert Pond Memory, then continue toward the Swamp route.
A Friend In Need — the Swamp and Flooded Ruins
Embuscade! — Proto Mecha King Bob-omb
The prototype’s shield must be broken with Bob-omb explosions. Dash a summoned Bob-omb to disable it, pick it up and throw it at the shielded machine. Check the throw target before committing the carrier’s movement.
Once the barrier is down, concentrate prepared damage on the prototype. Avoid letting Lone Wolves control the carrying lane and respect the nearby Golems’ elemental attacks. Reinforcements do not change the objective: keep opening the boss to damage rather than attempting to empty the entire field. Victory recruits Electroquake and supplies the Proto Mecha King Bob-omb Memory.
Find the three Melospheres
Use the boat to explore the Swamp and enter the Flooded Ruins. Dock at each accessible island, lower return ladders and use Scan Power on gaps. The three Melospheres are spread across the ruins: investigate the southwestern island, the eastern labyrinth route and the northern section rather than repeatedly circling the central nest.
On the labyrinth route, use the rising and falling blocks to change elevation and open the next crossing. Keep exploring from the newly reached level instead of returning to the boat at every blocked edge. Collecting the three overworld rescues leads to the Melosphere Melodrama battle.
Melosphere Melodrama — return all three to the nest
The battlefield has three branches from a central nest. Each Melosphere has three HP; losing one fails the mission. Clear the enemy lane before picking it up. A carrier can use pipes, Team Jumps and Jump Panels, so plan the return chain before leaving the nest area.
Send a protected mobile hero to the first rescue while another controls the return route. Remove Lone Wolves before moving through their reaction range, and use the appropriate element against each branch’s Golems. A fast rescue through an active firing lane is worse than spending one turn making that lane safe.
Bring the Melosphere all the way into its destination rather than dropping it beside the nest. Repeat for the remaining branches and keep a spare action for protection if a new portal opens near a carrier. The battle ends when all three are safely returned.
The Mecha King Bob-omb — free the Dorrie
The finished machine cannot be damaged in the first part, even by its own bombs. Your objective is the Dorrie’s cage at the far end. Dash the summoned Bob-ombs and throw them at the Darkmess Blobs covering ground buttons. Activate the cleared buttons to raise connecting terrain.
Choose a route through the islands with Tacticam and move ahead of the pursuing machine. It can jump and land with a shockwave, so staying close behind its attack lane is unsafe. Clear the enemy that blocks the next crossing rather than trying to fight the invulnerable boss. Activate the button beside the Dorrie’s cage to finish this part.
The Mecha King Bob-omb — expose and defeat Kanya’s machine
The second part uses the sound-amplification antenna in the central cage. Bomb the Blob on the first ground button, activate it and let Allegra and the Dorrie trigger the antenna. The resulting pulse removes the machine’s shield.
Attack while it is vulnerable, keeping heroes out of the machine’s spinning movement path. At half HP, the barrier returns and three new Blob-covered buttons appear. Clear and activate all three to remove the shield again, then finish the boss. Save the strongest damage boost for a vulnerable turn rather than activating it while the barrier remains.
Use the edge cannons to reposition when a safe ground route is unavailable. Deal with a Fieldbreaker that threatens the next button, but do not lose the objective by chasing every portal spawn. Victory supplies the Mecha King Bob-omb Memory and completes the Dorrie rescue story.
Optional quests and hidden routes
Darkmess in the Jungle
Scan the hidden crossing in Music Jungle to reach this puddle. Destroy the Darkmess Eyes; use the camera to check the remaining eye’s actual firing angle rather than attacking an unrelated enemy.
Blue Coin Challenge
Enter the blue pipe at Concert Pond and press the P switch. Follow the successive coin groups without returning to an earlier branch. The reward includes the Melodic Gardens Memory.
A Two-Pipe Puzzle
Explore the side path in the Swamp. Use both pipe routes to approach the switch arrangement from its different levels, opening the return connection before collecting the chest.
Red Coin Challenge
Find the red ring on the Flooded Ruins water route. Collect all eight coins before time expires; take the whole loop in one direction rather than reversing for a coin that lies on the return leg.
Green Coin Challenge
Start the green ring in the Flooded Ruins and follow all five groups as they appear. Use the boat and landing route efficiently instead of searching for every group before activating the ring.
Toad’s Cacophony
On the southwestern Flooded Ruins island, clear the Reach Area battle. Use a protected Team Jump chain and remove enemies controlling the landing route; one hero reaching the goal completes it.
On the Road Back to the Jungle
Clear the puddle left of the giant gate in the Swamp. Its Reach Area objective opens the route back into Music Jungle, which also leads to Jingle Jungle.
Jingle Jungle
After opening the return-jungle path, use Wave Power to shift the large blocks and operate the button. Check the new route after each change and open the hidden chest to register the quest.
The Warrior and the Beast
Beyond the Music Jungle flag, use the fixed Edge-and-Bowser team to defeat Tidal Golems. Bring Shock support, then Dash each weakened Golem before it revives. The reward is Edge’s Ripple Flying Blade.
Darkmess on the Beach
Use the cannon to the isolated Flooded Ruins beach. Survive six turns. Spread out, preserve healing and avoid turning an unnecessary attack into an unsafe end position.
Fieldbreaker Hunt
Scan the hidden Swamp crossing to the quest giver, then defeat the three marked roaming Fieldbreakers. Leave their hazardous areas before ending the turn.
Marimba Madness
On the southeastern Flooded Ruins island, find all three missing marimba pieces and bring them back to the instrument. Inspect the surrounding island paths and small side branches before leaving by boat.
Melodic Gateway
Find Madame Bwahstrella on the southeastern island. Complete her defeat-all challenge for the additional ordinary Skill Prism, matching Sparks to the generated enemy field.
Riddle of the Melodic Gardens
On the northern island, place the three blocks relative to the grid’s star, sun and crescent-moon symbols. The complete placement and clue locations are in the linked Professor Backpack guide.
Golem Hunt
Accept the request on the island shared with Surviving the Outcasts. Defeat three marked Golems and finish their weakened forms with Dashes so they do not regenerate.
Surviving the Outcasts
The level-40 Bob-omb guards a six-turn survival fight on a Flooded Ruins island. Bring recovery and control before starting. Open the chest afterward for Bowser’s Ripple Bowzooka.
Labyrinthine Darkmess
In the rising-and-falling-block section, scan the hidden bridge to the isolated cliff. This puddle is easy to miss because it is not marked on the map. Defeat all enemies to register the quest.

Spark quests — Mayhem and Cryodash
Treasure Hunter — Mayhem
Talk to Mayhem beside the locked chest on the central Flooded Ruins island. Travel by boat and activate five beacons with Wave Power, following their light beams toward the others. One beacon is invisible until scanned. Return to the chest when all five are active.
The chest releases a battle with sixteen enemies and a ban on direct weapon attacks. Dashes, movement attacks, Techniques and Spark Powers still work; reaction Techniques remain available too. Bring several upgraded damage Sparks and enough movement to reach targets at different elevations. Clear a Medician before it repeatedly undoes your limited damage. Winning recruits Mayhem and awards JEANIE on Music.
Coup in Kanya’s HQ — Cryodash
Visit Kanya’s headquarters on the northeastern Flooded Ruins island. Clear the Darkmess battle guarding Cryodash, inspecting its enemy lineup before choosing elemental Sparks. Do not assume the story-machine loadout is suitable for this separate field. The completed quest also supplies the Kanya Memory.
