In each of the seven major worlds of Super Mario Sunshine, you can get an additional Shine Sprite once you collect 100 yellow coins within one episode. Another 100-coin Shine Sprite is shared between Delfino Plaza and Delfino Airstrip. This means that there are a total of eight Shine Sprite for 100 coins each throughout the game.
For these tasks, only the ordinary yellow coins count. Blue coins are not counted. If you leave a world or lose a life, your coin balance will be reset. The 100 coins must therefore be collected during a consecutive visit.

Delfino Plaza and Delfino Airstrip
The upper world and runway share the same 100-coin Shine Sprite. The easiest way is available after entering Corona Mountain for the first time. Then waits at the boathouse a Pianta, which brings you for ten coins back to Delfino Airstrip.
First collect at least ten coins in Delfino Plaza. Among other things, you will find them in sewers, in wooden boxes, by spraying certain windows, lamps and figures as well as opponents. Then pay the Pianta at the boathouse and travel to the runway.
Take the Turbo Nozzle there. There are long rows of coins on the runway, which you can collect particularly quickly with the Turbo Nozzle. Drive along the outer route and over the narrow waterways. Then remove the opponents on the runway if you are missing some coins.
The Shine Sprite appears on a raised water tank or tower of the runway. Use the Turbo Nozzle and the intended ramps to reach it.
Bianco Hills – Episode 8
Episode 8 is particularly suitable because the entire area is accessible and Yoshi is available. Starts in the village and collects all the open coins on the paths, roofs, ropes and walls. Also Spray trees, flowers and flashy spots on the floor. Many objects release several coins after a few seconds.
Defeat the small running opponents and the pokeys. Larger pokeys leave several coins behind after their defeat. Make sure to actually defeat the opponents and not accidentally push into an abyss.
Emptying the Beehives with Yoshi
Wake Yoshi with the fruit he demands. In Bianco Hills there are two hives whose inhabitants can devour Yoshi individually. First inject juice against the hive so that the swarm comes out. Then swallow each bee with Yoshi’s tongue. The bees leave behind numerous coins and make the 100-coin task much easier.
Then search the area on the lake, the windmill and the high ropes. Collect the Shine Sprite as soon as you receive the hundredth coin.
Ricco Harbor – Episode 8
In Episode 8, you will find Yoshi, the upper scaffolding, the market hall and almost the entire port area. Starts on the lower bars and collects all the coins that are open. Destroy wooden boxes and spray the eye-catching wall surfaces, floor markings and wooden structures.
Then climb over the scaffolding. On the metal carriers, on the crane systems and on the higher platforms are further rows of coins. Defeat the Blooper and other opponents instead of running past them.
Collect Coins with Yoshi
Bring the desired fruit to the egg and take Yoshi with you. He can immediately devour several opponents and thus release more coins. Also use the fruit machine: Unneeded fruits can be repeatedly produced and used by skillful throwing to eliminate small opponents.
If you still lack coins at the end, control the undersides of the scaffolding as well as the waterways under the large platforms. An alternative, equally suitable choice is Episode 3.
Gelato Beach – Episode 8
Episode 8 is the Watermelon Festival. Before you bring the largest watermelon to the competition and trigger the regular Shine Sprite, you can search the entire beach area for coins.
Sprinkled the flowers and small plants on the beach. Also search the palm tree on the island, the area behind the tower and the hills above the beach. Several coins are hidden in the sand, on palm trees and in opponents.
The smaller watermelons
In the area are next to the large competition watermelon two smaller specimens. Take them to the jury first. They do not win the competition, but are exchanged for several coins each.
Get the Cataquacks out of your way with FLUDD. If they are hit with water, they turn around and can be defeated with a tamper. Do not let them throw you against a watermelon, as it can burst.
Bring the largest watermelon to the stand only after you have received the 100-coin Shine Sprite.
Pinna Park – Episode 2
Episode 2 offers the safest and easiest method at the same time. Monty Mole shoots Mario continuously from the cannon area on the beach with Bullet Bills. You can theoretically get an unlimited number of coins.
First collect all the coins on the beach, on the palm trees, around the cannon and at the opponents. Then stand at a sufficient distance in front of the cannon and spray the approaching Bullet Bills with water.
Normal Bullet Bills leave individual coins. The rare golden variants release several coins. Stay moving and be careful not to be pushed into the water by a rocket.
Repeat until you have 100 coins. The Shine Sprite appears on the beach and can be collected without defeating Monty Mole.
Sirena Beach – Episode 4
Episode 4 opens both the hotel and the casino. Together, both areas contain significantly more than 100 coins. Start in front of the hotel and collect the coins on the beach, at the palm trees and around the building.
In the hotel you should spray lamps, furniture, murals and flashy spots with water. Open all accessible rooms and defeat Boos as well as Electrokoopas. Numerous opponents leave coins behind.
Fully search the casino
In the casino you can spray the small slot machines repeatedly. Depending on the icon displayed, they release coins, water or other items. Spray also the large roulette and slot systems as well as the lamps on the walls.
Enter the secret course behind the big slot machine only after you have collected the 100 coins. As soon as you leave the episode through another exit, the current coin balance is lost.
Noki Bay – Episode 6
In Episode 6, the cliff paths, the shell and large parts of the bay are accessible. First collect the coins on the lower paths and in the water. Spray the graffiti symbols on the rock walls and use the appearing platforms to reach higher rows of coins.
Searche the small tunnels and niches within the rocks. Several of these contain individual coins or opponents who release more coins after their defeat. Also on the ropes and high protrusions are rows of coins.
An alternative route is Episode 2. However, Episode 6 offers many freely accessible areas and can be combined with a full exploration of the bay.
Pianta Village – Episode 5
Episode 5 is particularly suitable because Yoshi is available and you can examine both the village and its underside. First collect all the coins on the roofs, in the trees, at the hot spring and on the paths.
Stomping on the ground in conspicuous places. Several villagers also give you coins when you free them from goop or opponents.
Beehives empty with Yoshi
Wake Yoshi and seek out the two hives of the village. Spray them with juice and then devour every single bee. So you get a large part of the required coins.
Then go to the bottom of the village. On the grids, on the mushrooms and with the opponents are more coins. Stay cautious as a fall into the abyss ends the entire attempt.
You have found all eight 100-coin Shine Sprite in Super Mario Sunshine.
