Walkthrough
- Examine the dirt-armoured body for the parts holding Bowser Jr. and Kamek. Break those armour sections to rescue both captives and complete the main goal.
- Attack the dirt with eggs and Ground Pounds. Its boulders contain petrified eggs; recover them to replenish ammunition. Freed Tumballs and Slugarangs provide additional ways to strike the armour.
- Take the high flower while the body still has enough armour to climb. A Detonut from the left pool can be swallowed and explode inside the creature.
- Remove the remaining armour for the extra reward, but finish the high route first: a completely stripped Crudwurm flees. If it dives into the ground, dirt can restore damaged armour.
Smiley Flower locations
The locations are listed separately from the main route so you can check a missing flower without repeating every step.
Smiley Flower 1 — Buried nut
Buried nut: use a Slugarang to break the nut partly hidden in the sand.
Smiley Flower 2 — Armour reward
Armour reward: remove the entire dirt shell.
Smiley Flower 3 — Above Crudwurm
Above Crudwurm: climb the armoured body and Flutter Jump to the high flower before stripping the last sections.
Creatures and additional discoveries
Rescuing the captives and removing every armour piece are separate achievements. Use the captives' positions to choose your first targets, then collect the high flower before committing to the full strip.

- Check the habitat’s flower counter against the locations above.
- Finish the main objective before entering the sparkly exit.
- Review the creature’s book entry for an unrecorded interaction or a later discovery event.
