Hideout Helm has no Golden Bananas or blueprints. Its completion targets are five Banana Medals, one Battle Crown, two Banana Fairies and the eighth boss key. Every Kong must complete both of their machine-room challenges.
Prepare before entering
Collect at least 100 Golden Bananas to pass B. Locker. Buy the final Simian Slam upgrade, Monkeyport, OrangSprint and Gorilla Gone before this visit. Redeem all forty blueprints with Snide: each hand-in adds one minute to Helm’s ten-minute base timer, giving fifty minutes. Carry enough crystal coconuts for the special moves and bring both the Nintendo and Rareware Coins.
Reach and activate the machine
Use Lanky’s handstand on the steep slopes, then Chunky’s pineapple gun on the target. Cross the vines above the lava. Tiny shrinks through the narrow passage to open the way onward. Behind the Blast-o-Matic, DK pulls the lever. Switch to Diddy and fly through all five stars before the star challenge’s timer ends. Chunky punches the gates blocking the Kong rooms.
1. Donkey Kong’s room
Play the bongos to enter and complete both barrels. In the shooting challenge, hit three of the four moving targets within thirty seconds; do not keep following a target you have already registered. In the other challenge, transform into Rambi and defeat eighteen Kritters within thirty seconds. Sweep through groups instead of chasing one enemy across the arena. Completing both challenges awards DK’s medal and advances the room sequence.
2. Chunky Kong’s room
Play the triangle. In the giant challenge, use Hunky Chunky, smash the boxes and defeat the hidden Kritter within twenty seconds. In the shooting challenge, use the pineapple gun to hit all five Kritters within thirty seconds. Finish both barrels to receive Chunky’s medal.
3. Tiny Kong’s room
Play the saxophone. One challenge requires Pony Tail Twirl through three stars without landing before the final switch; start each glide from the intended raised platform. The other uses the mushrooms to gain height and reach three stars, with landing allowed between jumps. Press the finish switch after collecting the stars in each challenge.
4. Lanky Kong’s room
Play the trombone. Use OrangSprint to negotiate the maze and reach its finish switch within twenty-five seconds. In the shooting challenge, each of the three mechanical Zingers takes three hits. Keep the aiming reticle ahead of the moving target rather than firing while it is hidden.
5. Diddy Kong’s room
Play the guitar. In one barrel, watch which Kritter presses the switch, defeat that enemy and press the switch yourself within thirty seconds. In the Rocketbarrel challenge, shoot all four upward-arrow targets, land and slam the blue switch before the forty-five-second limit expires. Both clears award Diddy’s medal and shut down the Blast-o-Matic.
Crown, fairies and the eighth key
Once the machine is disabled, the main timer stops. Fly with Diddy to the crown pad above the machine and survive the ninety-second arena. The first vault door checks for four Battle Crowns; the next checks for the Nintendo and Rareware Coins. Photograph the two fairies in the key chamber and collect key eight. Return it to K. Lumsy, then find the crashed aircraft that leads to K. Rool’s boxing match.
Helm checklist
Confirm all five medals, the crown and both fairies in the pause menu before leaving. There are no coloured banana totals to fill here. A failed bonus can be retried, but the main countdown continues during retry screens and Kong changes; pause the game when planning a route.
