Prepare the exhibits and rescue the green Toad
Enter the mansion and activate the exhibit E-Gates as you explore. The Jungle Exhibit’s Flytrap blocks the first Toad painting. Visit the Dark Age Exhibit, clear the possessed armor by pulling its rug, and take the bucket. Carry it through the E-Gates to the Jungle Exhibit, fill it and water the sprout. Shoot the grown spiky fruit at the Flytrap, then use Dark-Light to free the green Toad. Keep the bucket available for the Ancient Exhibit’s optional flower diamond.
Melt the second Toad’s painting
Take a piece of wood from the Jungle Exhibit and carry it to the Ancient Exhibit’s fire. Use the lit wood in the Ice Age Exhibit to melt the ice over the other Toad painting, then free him with Dark-Light. The mammoth’s trunk launches Luigi to Gargoyle Roof for a separate diamond puzzle: put all three small stars into the incomplete constellation, including the one released by flashing a gargoyle. Return to the main route with both Toads.
Open the Courtyard stairs
Bring both Toads to the Courtyard and launch one into each cage held by the statue. Clear the Strong Sneakers that interrupt the mechanism, then reveal the Boo hidden in the statue with Dark-Light and capture it. Place the Toads in the cages again and flash both exposed switches together to lower the stairs. Escort them upstairs to the Pixelator. The Toads’ weight is required here; Luigi standing beside the statue does not substitute for either cage.
