Mountaintops opens at 20 discovery stars. Its six habitats contain 26 Smiley Flowers and turn creature abilities into climbing tools: chase Taggits, bounce on Mildes, throw Peckadees, ride Flooflys, glide with Plumebrellas and use Thudd to launch Yoshi. Keep the goal available while you explore; several flowers sit beyond an apparent finishing point.

Taggit Habitat
Chase and catch the five main Taggits. Find the first near the start, a second on the upper-right platforms and a third along the vines.

Milde Habitat
Bounce on small Mildes to pop them. Use a Ground Pound on larger forms. Popping Mildes over a pink pool produces more, and repeated additions can build a much larger Milde.

Peckadee Nest
Wait for a Peckadee to dive, stun it with a jump and lift it onto Yoshi's back. Throw it as a dart at wooden obstructions and targets.

Floofly Habitat
Jump onto Flooflys to befriend them and start their movement. Collect more along the route so the formation grows into a cloud ship.

Plumebrella Habitat
Carry a Plumebrella to slow Yoshi's fall, then steer into upward drafts to climb. Explore left over the water before committing to the right-hand route.

Thudd Domain
While Thudd sleeps, approach its mouth to be swallowed and launched. Aim the orange cursor at high ledges and rock walls; Yoshi's launch can break obstacles that ordinary eggs cannot.
