Walkthrough
- Wait for a Peckadee to dive, stun it with a jump and lift it onto Yoshi's back. Throw it as a dart at wooden obstructions and targets.
- Hit every required target for the Big Discovery. Aim at the red centre when possible to complete accuracy discoveries during the same run.
- Feed a hot pepper to an adult Peckadee. The red form can break rock barriers that an ordinary throw cannot remove in one strike. Use it to open the left-hand climbing route.
- Reach the upper contraption and stop the Peckadee operating the wheel. Explore its platforms before leaving. Throw a Peckadee into the rustling upper leaves to reveal the Golden Bug.
Smiley Flower locations
The locations are listed separately from the main route so you can check a missing flower without repeating every step.
Smiley Flower 1 — Large nut
Large nut: lure a diving Peckadee so its beak lodges in the nut, then Ground Pound it to crack the shell.
Smiley Flower 2 — Small opening
Small opening: aim an egg into the hole that Yoshi cannot enter.
Smiley Flower 3 — Rock barrier
Rock barrier: feed an adult Peckadee a pepper, throw it at the large left-hand boulder and climb through.
Smiley Flower 4 — Wheel mechanism
Wheel mechanism: lodge a Peckadee in the wall as a foothold, climb up and stop the bird running the wheel.
Creatures and additional discoveries
Use normal Peckadees for precise target throws before clearing the nest. Test nuts, apples, wooden crates and logs. An adult can eat a hot pepper, while a chick cannot. A Peckadee can also eat a Golden Bug, so investigate that reaction before defeating the bug with eggs.
