Floofly Habitat Walkthrough

Yoshi and the Mysterious Book guide hub

Floofly Habitat is a habitat in Chapter 2: Mountaintops of Yoshi and the Mysterious Book. Follow the route below and collect all 5 Smiley Flowers during your exploration.

Overview

Chapter 2: Mountaintops
Discovery stars to unlock 20
Smiley Flowers 5

Walkthrough

  1. Jump onto Flooflys to befriend them and start their movement. Collect more along the route so the formation grows into a cloud ship.
  2. Use the windmill-tree route to reach the high clouds, then inspect the low passage exposed when the three ground-level Flooflys move away.
  3. Stay on the upper row while the cloud ship passes between the rocks. Be ready to leave the moving formation briefly for the opening above it.
  4. Befriend the blue rain Flooflys before the last section. Stand on one directly above the wilted flower to water it, then remain high for the fish-shaped group near the end. Reach the destination with the formation to complete the Big Discovery.

Smiley Flower locations

The locations are listed separately from the main route so you can check a missing flower without repeating every step.

Smiley Flower 1 — First high clouds

First high clouds: climb from the windmill-tree area and Flutter Jump from the upper Flooflys.

Smiley Flower 2 — Low rock passage

Low rock passage: move the three Flooflys away, then crawl through the newly exposed gap.

Smiley Flower 3 — Above the cloud ship

Above the cloud ship: jump into the high opening as the formation passes between the rock projections.

Smiley Flower 4 — Wilted plant

Wilted plant: ride a blue Floofly above it and let the rain reach the flower.

Smiley Flower 5 — Fish-shaped formation

Fish-shaped formation: stay on the highest clouds and Flutter Jump from the fish group.

Creatures and additional discoveries

Ordinary Flooflys disappear if you stand on them too long, so keep moving between safe landings. Blue ones release rain, yellow ones produce lightning and other colours affect what falls beneath them. Check what happens below the formation, not just on top. Their later magnified habitat explains how young cloud wisps acquire wings.

Before leaving

  • Check the habitat’s flower counter against the locations above.
  • Finish the main objective before entering the sparkly exit.
  • Review the creature’s book entry for an unrecorded interaction or a later discovery event.
