Syrup Castle

Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3 guide hub

The last four courses dismantle Captain Syrup’s fortress in stages. Collect Treasures N and O before entering the final course, then climb through the sky platforms to the Genie.

Course 37

Cross the forest path and plant pits to the checkpoint. Beyond it, let each spiked ball roll down the staircase before climbing. The later platforms lead above a low area containing pirates and coin blocks. The treasure detour is in the last gap before the final castle door, so do not leave this outdoor section before taking Treasure N.

After the detour, cross the two suspended platforms over the wide plant bed and enter the castle. The wall launchers fire missiles across the foyer. Wait for a clear line, pass the Guragura and open the goal.

Treasure N: Whale statue

Drop into the last gap before the castle-entry door, landing on the safe ground beside the plants. Hit the right-wall block for the key. Follow the strip of leaves into the apparently solid right wall and walk through it to the hidden treasure door.

Open the chest, collect the treasure and finish the course to keep it. Its final value is 7,000 coins.

Course 38

Enter the side room and activate the ! Block to lift the solid block cluster off the floor. Descend the exposed ladder and break through the winding corridor, avoiding the pirates freed by the switch. The Dragon Pot near the end helps with blocks and enemies ahead.

Climb the tall lava room by the right-hand ladders while watching the missiles from the opposite wall. At the top, take the left checkpoint door before continuing right. Use the star in the next dark room to pass the pirates, but keep jumping over lava gaps. After the final ladder chamber and Guragura, crouch beneath the lances and hit the giant switch to demolish the castle’s outer section.

Course 39

Use the platforms to cross the outdoor wall, then duck beneath the lances in the connecting corridor. The Spring-Ups carry you across the large gaps on the way to the checkpoint. In the later D.D. corridor, keep Bull Wario for the floor-block detour to Treasure O.

After collecting it, resume the main corridor and enter the castle. Ride the skull elevators over the lava rather than jumping ahead into an unlit gap. Pass the Penkoon room and hit the large ! Block. This removes the next castle layer and opens Course 40.

Treasure O: Jeweled ring

As Bull Wario, ground-pound the four cracked blocks covering the two Spring-Ups in the late D.D. corridor. Bounce to the upper passage and take the door into the X-shaped room. The key block is in the upper-right arm, and the treasure door is in the upper-left arm behind cracked blocks. The Dragon Pot in the lower-right arm lets you burn the obstruction; the available Bull and Jet forms can also clear it. Carry the key across and claim the last treasure.

Open the chest, collect the treasure and finish the course to keep it. Its final value is 6,000 coins.

Course 40

Use the trampoline blocks to cross the opening sky gaps. Hold a controlled line over each springy block so the next bounce carries you toward solid ground, rather than correcting late over the abyss. The first door reaches the checkpoint down the ladder. Beyond it, the trampoline blocks are farther apart, so take each bounce from near the center.

The Knight guards a locked door. Get behind it and charge its back three times; the two Garlic Pots let you recover if hit. Climb the missile-filled shaft, then duck beneath the lances in the last guard room. Take the Garlic Pot over the final door before entering Captain Syrup’s room.

Genie: the final battle

Pick up the lamp and throw it until it lands upright. A cloud rises from its spout. Jump onto that cloud while it is still a platform, then jump from it onto the Genie’s head. Move clear of the fireballs along the floor and repeat the lamp setup for the next attack. If a cloud remains too long, it becomes a miniature Genie that drops fireballs; stomp it before it crowds the arena.

Land six head stomps to defeat the Genie. Captain Syrup then destroys the castle, Mario retrieves the golden statue and Wario keeps the lamp. The ending reward uses your coins and the value of the fifteen treasures. The complete treasure set is worth 90,000 coins. For the top planetoid result, clear all forty courses, retain all fifteen treasures and reach the 99,999 total; the final boss contributes 300 coins.
