Mt. Teapot

Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3 guide hub

Follow Courses 7–12, taking the optional Sherbet Land branch from Course 8. The giant switch in Course 12 drops the mountain lid and changes Course 10 into the boss course, Course 13.

Course 7

Move through the long lake while watching the birds above and the mines in the water. A touched mine explodes after a short delay, so leave its range rather than holding it. Jet or Dragon Wario can break the submerged blocks; without either power, use nearby mine explosions to clear the essential obstruction. The first concealed underwater door contains a giant block with a 3-Up Heart.

A later hidden door opens a ladder shaft with a checkpoint halfway up. From its upper exit, Jet Wario can fly over the block-and-mine maze instead of swimming through it. In the last room, fight the downward currents by staying close to the surface and jumping toward the opposite bank before opening the goal.

Course 8

In the opening cave, the current runs against your progress. Drift back beneath the platform to enter the next door, then climb through the divided vertical chamber while keeping clear of the mines. The checkpoint is on the right. Continue through the water rooms, following the looping current toward each exit rather than swimming straight into the spiked enemies.

Keep Jet Wario for the last dry room. The normal goal beyond the two Gaugaus opens Course 9. For Sherbet Land, stop at the upward-pointing coin arrow, jet left onto the raised ledge with a block, then launch right from there to the hidden high platform. Follow it to the second skull door and spend ten coins to open Course 14.

Course 9

Swim through the first waterfall cave, then climb past the Yadorā in the vertical room. The waterfalls are scenery and do not push you. In the next horizontal cave, the raised left door reaches the checkpoint. Descend through the Penkoon chamber, leaving space to avoid their armored fronts.

In the last waterfall room, take the key from the block on the right before returning to the partly broken block on the upper rocky ledge. Break that block, stand in its former position and press Up to enter the concealed door. Carry the key past the giant coin block to the treasure door for Treasure B. Return to the cave and continue past the flying Konotako to the goal.

Treasure B: Harp

Take the key from the block on the right side of the last waterfall room. Return to the partly broken block on the high rocky ledge, break it and press Up where it stood. Beyond the concealed door, carry the key past the giant 100 Coin block and open the treasure door on the right.

Open the chest, collect the treasure and finish the course to keep it. Its final value is 6,000 coins.

Course 10

Cross the lake and climb the ladders around the mountain summit. The optional underwater coin tunnel needs Jet or Dragon Wario to break its blocks. At the top, the checkpoint door contains a tall ladder room; its lower coins hang above a bottomless gap. Bull Wario can ground-pound the block closing the summit shaft for another optional coin detour.

Descend on the right and continue through the final water stretch. In the last room, use the Pouncer’s safe top to reach the ladders over the gap. Clear this course before activating the giant switch in Course 12: that switch permanently changes this map position into Course 13.

Course 11

Break downward through the opening cave until you reveal the door on the second-lowest platform. Cross the small lake, then descend the long ladder beside the Pirate Gooms. The next room has the checkpoint reached by appearing platforms. Take the Jet Pot before leaving the ladder chamber if you want Treasure C, whose route is described below.

After the checkpoint, jump on the arrow-marked Floater to change its direction and steer it over the pit. Transfer to the second Floater without jumping into the ceiling spikes. The next room supplies a star for the crowded Pirate Goom passage, but the star cannot protect you from lava beyond the door. Run across the final collapsing bridges to the goal.

Treasure C: Crown

At the bottom of the long pirate-lined ladder, take the Jet Pot and fly up between the side ledges. The key block is on the upper left, while the treasure door is on the upper right. Throw the key across and jet into it, or throw it up the right-hand ledges in stages. You cannot begin a jet attack while simply holding the key.

Open the chest, collect the treasure and finish the course to keep it. Its final value is 2,000 coins.

Course 12

Cross the lava platforms, keeping the spear tips of Pirate Gooms away from your landing. You can throw stunned pirates into the Chicken Ducks for 10 Gold Coins. In the conveyor room, Bull Wario can hang beneath the belts with his horns to collect the otherwise awkward coins; the ghost must still be avoided.

Climb the vertical chamber past the D.D.s, watching for boomerangs coming back from behind. The final room ends at a giant ! Block rather than a skull door. Strike it to drop Mt. Teapot’s lid. Course 10 becomes Course 13, and its old summit layout is no longer available.

Course 13

Return to the former Course 10 position after pressing the Course 12 switch. The lowered water and fallen boulders change the way across the mountain. Climb to the summit area, then descend the shaft that has opened through the damage; the old route down the east side is blocked. The original checkpoint room remains available.

In the cave beyond the shaft, stay ahead of the pursuing Pouncer and use the upper branch for optional coins only when you have time to recover. Cross the last gap to the Minotaur. Charge it to stun it, pick it up and throw it into the lava at either side. Do not jump onto its horns or try to win with repeated head stomps. Victory opens Stove Canyon.
