World 6-1
Character recommendation: Toad The sand and the many jars make Toad the best choice with his digging speed.
Level Tips:
- Never stand still in quicksand – jump constantly to avoid sinking.
- Toad’s digging speed is crucial for getting through deep sand passages quickly.
- Pokeys can be used as a jumping aid to reach higher placed Ace Coins.
- In Subspace, mushrooms and Yoshi eggs sink into the sand – grab them immediately.
- It’s worth collecting hearts in front of Birdo, as escape space is limited.
Ace Coins:
- Coin 1: Right after the start, above the first sand section.
- Coin 2: After the first jar, above the cactus.
- Coin 3: Above the area with Pokey – Jump from raised platform.
- Coin 4: Between several jars in front of the key area.
- Coin 5: Just before Birdo, right above the mushroom blocks.
Yoshi Eggs (Yoshi’s Challenge):
- Yoshi Egg 1: Instead of the first mushroom in the sand – egg sinks quickly, grab it immediately.
- Yoshi Egg 2: Near the newly added Subspace door above the jars.
World 6-2
Character recommendation: Luigi High jumps and control are mandatory on the Albatoss flight passages.
Level Tips:
- Albatosses are the only safe way to move – a fall means instant death.
- Luigi’s high jump makes it easier to switch between flying enemies.
- Before jumping on an Albatoss, pull a vegetable out of the ground – it can save you.
- For some Ace Coins you have to deliberately fly low.
- After Subspace there is no return to the right – plan your route.
Ace Coins:
- Coin 1: Right after the first power jump over the wall.
- Coin 2: While flying on a low-flying Albatoss.
- Coin 3: After the Subspace mushroom, fly back to the left.
- Coin 4: Positioned very low – deliberately low flight required.
- Coin 5: Just before Birdo, above the last platform.
Yoshi Eggs (Yoshi’s Challenge):
- Yoshi Egg 1: Replaces the Subspace mushroom on the left cliff.
- Yoshi Egg 2: High above the final Albatoss flight path.
World 6-3
Character recommendation: Mario Two mini-bosses, lots of traps – Mario is the safest all-rounder.
Level Tips:
- This level combines sand, vines and boss fights – play defensively.
- The climbing passages require patience – hastily switching between tendrils often ends in death.
- Actively use mushroom blocks as a shield against snifits and fire.
- Before Triclyde you should have as full a heart as possible.
- In Super Mario Advance there is another boss after Triclyde – save resources.
Ace Coins:
- Coin 1: Early in the level, above the sand near the ladder.
- Coin 2: After the first Subspace, above the cactus.
- Coin 3: During the long climbing section on the vines.
- Coin 4: Left above the Snifits on the clouds.
- Coin 5: Just before Triclyde, near the mask door.
Yoshi Eggs (Yoshi’s Challenge):
- Yoshi Egg 1: Instead of the mushroom in Subspace during the climbing section.
- Yoshi Egg 2: Near the third mushroom just before the boss.
Boss: Triclyde
- Use mushroom blocks to build a protective wall against the fire blasts.
- Three hits with mushroom blocks defeat Triclyde.
- A second Mouser fight follows in Super Mario Advance.
