Walkthrough
- Carry Mawstalk like a net and swing its mouth over insects. Feed it different types, including butterflies, Springhoppers, Bunchabees, fish and Upshoots, to make it grow.
- Use the larger mouth on the rocks below the hollow tree. Clear the obstruction and catch the golden Springhopper before it escapes.
- Use a red Crazee Dayzee near the flower bed to grow peppers. Feed one to Mawstalk so it can eat vegetation, revealing the Winged Cloud in the upper leaves.
- For the Big Discovery, strike the rustling leaves on the highest tree platform to release the Neon Bugs. Catch the full group quickly with Mawstalk before they fly away.
Smiley Flower locations
The locations are listed separately from the main route so you can check a missing flower without repeating every step.
Smiley Flower 1 — Large nut
Large nut: grow Mawstalk and bite the nut on the left leaf platform.
Smiley Flower 2 — Rock tunnel
Rock tunnel: remove the large rock, enter the passage and catch the Upshoot holding the flower.
Smiley Flower 3 — Upper leaves
Upper leaves: feed Mawstalk a pepper, eat the vegetation and then catch the exposed Winged Cloud.
Creatures and additional discoveries
Variety matters when growing Mawstalk; repeatedly catching the same group is less useful than finding different food. Test the fish by dipping its mouth below the surface during an airborne Ground Pound. At its largest size it can swallow Yoshi too; escape by struggling rather than treating it as a permanent failure.
Before leaving
- Check the habitat’s flower counter against the locations above.
- Finish the main objective before entering the sparkly exit.
- Review the creature’s book entry for an unrecorded interaction or a later discovery event.
