Groundless holes
Go south until a pit blocks your path. Olivia contacts you and gives you an empty snippet bag from a distance. Feel the bag by hitting trees or hammering flowers. After that, you can throw snippets with ZL/ZR to close the pit. You will encounter many more “groundless holes” on your journey, which you must plug. They are often placed very obviously, so you will find them easily.
Now cross the new path and pull Olivia out of the ground. Then returns with it to the folding circle and activates the folding arms. Press ZL and ZR and then hit the tree so that it falls over and forms a bridge for you. On the other hand, can you get out of it? Block grab a mushroom and then go right to the next area.
Follow the path until a short cutscene where your next destination becomes clear – again the Mushroom Palace in Toad Town. Continues to the right to the next area after the Save Block.
After a few meters you reach thorns that you can circle around to get behind one? Block with 1,000 coins in it. Keep following the path until you get to some trees where lianas hang. Draw on the liana of the second tree and 10 leaves appear south of you. This is a short memory minigame. With your hammer you can turn the leaves and once you have found all the pairs, a star appears.
Collect the star and jump over the thorns northwest of you. This is how you get to the treasure mini #1. As long as the star is active, you should also run south of you to the thorns. Jumps where an invisible square can be seen on the ground? Block.
Go back to the trees with the lianas. For progress, you have to pull on the liana on the far right. You have to do this three times until finally a tree trunk falls to the ground and rolls against the left rock face. Jump to the upper level and pull on the liana hanging from a golden ball. After the liana is torn, you must strike against the tree in front of you so that a folding circle appears. Open the ball with the folding arms in order to obtain the shrimp grain. To the right of the northern exit, can you join behind a pit? Find block with coins in it – then go to the next area.
Master Noble Growing
You are now at the center of the Whisper Forest. In the middle there is a striking tree stump, but you can do nothing here for the time being. Use the right path and you will come out on the left path. Repeat this twice and Olivia will point you to this phenomenon. Then jump on the tree stump to take a short break.
Then the side trees and the tree stump come to life. The tree stump is called Master Noble Growth, but he has lost his strength. When you help Master Noble Growth regain his strength, he promises to show you a way out of the Whispering Woods.
Previously, in a cutscene, you saw that there is a lake in the Whispering Woods that holds invigorating powers. Into this lake you must throw the shrimp grain that you have found before. From Master Edelwuchs‘ location you can now follow the right path to reach the said lake. Along the way, you will have to fight a few battles in which further basics will be explained to you.
In addition to the seed, you can also throw more dried-up items (Mushroom and Fire Flower can be found in the Whispering Woods) into the lake to get usable items. You should also follow the path to the left of the lake to the end to find a treasure mini #2.
Then return quickly to Master Noble Growth, who was attacked by origami henchmen in the meantime. Use the snippets to complete his face and give him the seed. After an entertaining song, Master Edelwuchs’s full strength returns and you are allowed to leave Whispering Woods through the northern exit.
Directions to Toad Town
After the Whispering Woods you have to hammer against the northern part of the fence to knock it over. Then you find an invisible one northwest of the first baseless pit? Block. Stand on the yellow flower and jump to discover the block.
A few steps further you will find the first Toad who needs your help. Pull him out of the bush and he will explain to you the plight of the Toads. From now on, you can discover numerous toads in the game world – so keep your eyes open. Shortly afterwards you reach the Toad Camp. In the left tent and on the rope of the swing you will find a toad.
Go over the musical bridge and heal your HP at the bank. After that, there are more toads for you to find:
- Draw a yellow toad from a tree trunk to the bridge.
- In the southwest corner hides a toad by the tree.
- Defeat the Goomba at the wooden table sitting on a toad.
- Hit the plate on the table next to it.
- To the left of the wooden hut, a secret path leads to a Toad.
- Jump under the empty flower box.
- Draw a toad from the bush south of the wooden hut.
- Draw another Toad from the logs to the right of the wooden hut.
To the right of the wooden hut, a striking square on the floor points to an invisible? Block out – jump. Behind the wooden hut there is another block. Stand on it and jump to another invisible one? Block to expose. The last invisible? Block is located on the west side behind the shed with the logs. Destroy the bush behind the logs and jump where the bush was.
You have done everything in this area. Follow the path to the right and leave the camp towards Toad Town.

Return to Whispering Woods after finishing the Sandcake Desert
You cannot find the last Toad in this area yet. This is the inhabitant of the wooden hut, whom you can only liberate much later. And in this regard, you will also have to make the campfire. In the log cabin you will also find a treasure mini #3.
