Emerald Passage

Wario Land 4 guide hub

Emerald Passage leads from Palm Tree Paradise to Monsoon Jungle. Each of its four levels contains four Jewel Pieces, a Keyzer and a CD. Keep the transformation enemies available until their side routes are finished; defeating an apple thrower or hammer enemy too early can interrupt the collection route.

Palm Tree Paradise

Follow the beach right and collect the Jewel Pieces along the route. Enter the cave through the concealed doorway behind the blocks, then climb the ladders to the raised chest. Flip a spiked enemy with a Ground Pound and attack its exposed side before using the nearby ladder.

Search the cave platforms for the other chest. For the CD, examine the apparently solid right wall beside the lower platform rather than immediately climbing to the exit. The hidden room contains About That Shepherd. Collect it before leaving the cave.

Outside, activate the red exclamation switch near the apple thrower and climb the resulting blocks to the Keyzer. An apple turns you into Fat Wario, letting you break the heavy floor for a diamond and a bonus-room switch. Finish any optional search before continuing right to the healing chest and Frog Switch.

The escape allows 1:30. Return left, dash along the clear beach and jump the floor openings you made earlier. The cave detours should already be finished before you begin this run.

Wildflower Fields

Use the early bees to become Puffy Wario and float through the narrow opening above the flowers. Stay toward the left in the upper area and avoid a landing that ends the rise too early. The metal box contains Things That Never Change. Return to the ground and continue right after collecting the CD.

Use enough drop height to break the hard floor blocks beneath the leaves. In the current-filled water section, swim upward and take the right branch to the first Jewel Piece. The doorway at the chest leads onward through the rising water.

At the large sunflower, drop to the platform below for the second Jewel Piece beside the healing chest. Drop left, then follow the lower path right for the third. Bees also provide access to higher diamonds. If you are collecting points, knock ripe fruit from the pollinated flowers before it spoils.

Past the apple thrower, climb the vine and Ground Pound from high enough to break through to the Frog Switch. The timer starts at 2:30. Climb back to the small platforms and take the newly opened upper path left for the Keyzer. The fourth Jewel Piece lies on the following running section. Roll through the small block at the end, crawl through the opening and drop toward the vortex above the starting area.

Mystic Lake

Enter the first doorway and explore the lake to the right. Collect the first Jewel Piece from the cave niche above the water. Keep away from the dark wall openings with red eyes: a large fish can rush out. Crystals near a suspicious ceiling mark a breakable detour for a diamond and bonus room.

After surfacing, pass the hammer enemies and collect the second Jewel Piece. Their Spring Wario transformation opens a higher side room, but do not leave the ground-level chest behind. In the water tunnels, avoid the early bubbles. Use the later bubble on the upward route to overcome the downward current.

Press the Frog Switch for 3:00, then dive down and right toward the large octopus. Avoid its spiked arms and rise on the right to collect the Keyzer. Swim back down and left, then surface. The changed frog blocks open the upper return route, where the remaining two Jewel Pieces wait around the bridge and the raised platforms farther left.

Before entering the doorway back to the start, build speed and break the hard block beside it. Clear the smaller blocks beyond for Tomorrow’s Blood Pressure. Take the CD before entering the door and returning through the vortex.

Monsoon Jungle

Cross left over the leaves and swinging logs. Crocodiles can jump toward the platforms, so avoid waiting directly above them. Take an apple to become Fat Wario and break the hard floor into the cave containing the first Jewel Piece. Farther left, Ground Pound to open access to the hammer enemy.

For Beyond the Headrush, move that enemy up the platforms with repeated ground impacts. Let its hammer turn Wario into Spring Wario, then jump through the shaft to the upper room. Roll down the slope and through the blocks to the CD box, then return to the main cave.

After the following water crossings, drop at the end of the land section for the second Jewel Piece. Break the floor blocks leading to the Frog Switch. Clear the surrounding escape obstacles now if possible; leaving them until the timer starts makes the return slower.

You have 4:00. Run right into the tunnel and break the second block group to reveal a doorway. Inside, climb the platforms and drop behind them for the third Jewel Piece. Return outside for the fourth in the next lower section. Climb the ladders and leaves to the upper path, then head right toward the start.

The now-solid frog blocks provide access to the Keyzer. Collect it, swim right and use the swinging logs to reach the raised starting vortex.

Boss: Cractus

After completing all four level jewels, enter the boss room and shoulder-charge the flowerpot to wake Cractus. Climb a hanging vine, wait for its head to move below and Ground Pound the top. Reposition if the head is too high instead of dropping into the arms.

Move away from the fists after each hit. If saliva turns Wario into a zombie, use the fireflies‘ light to restore him. The Normal timer is 4:00, but keep at least one minute remaining to protect the three treasure chests. The Item Shop’s Black Dragon can help shorten a difficult attempt. Once Cractus is defeated, continue to Ruby Passage for the next recommended chapter.
