Entry Passage

Wario Land 4 guide hub

Entry Passage teaches the throws, rolling and dash attacks needed later under a countdown. Complete Hall of Hieroglyphs, then defeat Spoiled Rotten to open the four main passages. The route and times below apply to Normal mode.

Hall of Hieroglyphs

Move right over the platforms and enter the pipes by pressing down. Open the first Jewel Piece chest along the corridor, then follow the block obstacles. Use a shoulder attack for an ordinary block and attack in the air for a raised one. Continue into the next corridor for the second Jewel Piece.

Build speed with L or R before the darker hard block. Beyond the water, check the ceiling blocks for a diamond. At the narrow opening, pick up the rock and charge a throw to clear the small obstacles, then crawl through. The chest to the right of the ladder restores your health.

Climb the ladder, throw the next rock upward through the blocks and follow the opening. Crawl through, then use the following rock to clear the next passage. Collect the third Jewel Piece. Start rolling down the slope, break the block row and jump onto the raised platform to pick up the Keyzer.

Continue rolling through the next barrier for the fourth Jewel Piece. Use the chest as a step if you want the crystals and diamond overhead. The next lesson introduces the Ground Pound: a short drop breaks the ordinary floor, but the harder blocks need the longer fall from the upper platform. Climb first, then drop with down held.

First Frog Switch escape

Clear the path and leave the rock ready before pressing the switch. You have 1:00. The changed frog blocks open a shortcut, so you do not need to retrace the whole outward route. Throw the rock through the small blocks, crawl through and enter the vortex with the Keyzer. There is no CD in this level.

Boss: Spoiled Rotten

Normal mode gives you one minute. Remove the two small companions first so that they do not interrupt your attacks. While Spoiled Rotten’s face is calm, shoulder-charge from the side, then wait for the brief invulnerability to end before striking again.

When the angry face and large teeth appear, stop attacking the front. Jump over the boss, land with room to turn and strike from behind. Watch for a change of direction after each hit. Victory opens all four main passages; the recommended route continues through Emerald Passage.
