Dire, Dire Docks Walkthrough

Mission 1: Board Bowser’s Sub

After entering the level, you land in the water. Dive down (B/A) toward the bottom,
where you will find an opening. Swim through it.

Follow the arrows through the tunnel until you exit the cave.
Swim to the surface and look for a small ledge.

Along the edge, you will find a ! switch. Activate it to reveal blocks leading to Bowser’s submarine.
Climb up and collect the star on top of the sub.

Mission 2: Chests in the Current

Dive to the bottom of the lake and open the chests in the correct order.

Be careful of the whirlpool, as it can pull you in quickly.
If you get too close, press A rapidly to escape.

Each chest contains an air bubble, so you can refill your oxygen if needed.

Mission 3: Pole-Jumping for Red Coins

This mission becomes available after defeating Bowser.
Return to the area where the submarine was located.

Activate the ! switch to reveal platforms.
Collect the first Red Coin on the platform.

Use the moving poles to collect additional coins.
Climb up and down to grab coins at different heights.

Continue navigating between poles and platforms.
Carefully time your jumps, as the poles are not always aligned.

After collecting all Red Coins, the star appears on the main platform.

Mission 4: Through the Jet Stream

You need the Metal Cap for this mission.
Swim to the area where Bowser’s submarine was.

Dive to the bottom and locate the source of the air bubbles.
Swim through the rings that form above it.

After passing through five rings, the star appears.
Use the Metal Cap to resist the current and collect it.

Mission 5: The Manta Ray’s Reward

Find the Manta Ray swimming underwater.
Stay behind it as it creates rings in its path.

Swim through five consecutive rings.
If you miss one, the counter resets.

Once completed, the star appears above the whirlpool.
Be careful not to get pulled in while collecting it.

Mission 6: Collect the Caps…

You need both the Metal Cap and the Vanish Cap.
Return to the submarine area and locate the ! blocks near the wall.

Activate both caps and combine their effects.
Mario will become metal and transparent.

Jump into the water and walk along the bottom toward the back right.
Enter the cage and collect the star.

Extra: Collect 100 Coins

Collect 100 coins to receive an additional star. There are 106 coins available:

First area:

• 42 Yellow Coins scattered around

Second area:

• 8 Red Coins (= 16 Yellow Coins)
• 6 Blue Coins (= 30 Yellow Coins)
• 18 Yellow Coins scattered around
