The second floor has two visits: E. Gadd’s rescue in the west wing and the restaurant route unlocked after Hotel Shops. Chef Soulfflé’s button is stolen by mice, so the floor is not finished when the boss falls.
Western wing during the opening
Use the accessible rooms to recover Dark-Light and release E. Gadd from the Ballroom painting. Spin the Ballroom chandelier to open the red-gem alcove. Strip the Dressing Room clothes rail and flash its hidden safe for the green gem.
Restaurant and smoke
Return with the 2F button and follow Polterpup toward the restaurant. Clear the dining-room ghosts. In the kitchen, keep Luigi and Gooigi vacuuming together until the smoke is removed and the chef becomes visible.
Chef Soulfflé
The frying pan shields his face. Knock it away with an object, then use the Strobulb, suction and slams during the opening. Move aside when he spins across the kitchen and wait for the next vulnerable moment instead of chasing him while his pan is raised.
The stolen elevator button
Follow the mouse out of the kitchen. Use cheese to lure it into a clear Strobulb shot. When another mouse swallows the button, follow the next trail into the Entertainment Room and then the restrooms. Pull off the stall doors and defeat the final carrier before returning to the elevator.
Entertainment Room
Vacuum every billiard ball into the pockets for the room achievement. Take the wall sword and shoot it into the dartboard for the purple gem. Search the mouse route carefully so that the button does not remain behind after the room is cleared.
Finish both wings
The kitchen’s frozen gem melts on a lit cooker. The corridor’s paired fans require both characters, and the restroom newspaper hides a crystal ghost. Return to E. Gadd after installing the 4F button.

Use the six-colour list to finish this floor. Check the required return visit before trying a route that needs Gooigi, Super Suction or the later Toad mission.
