Recover E. Gadd’s briefcase from Chambrea, unlock Gooigi and learn the two-character mechanics used throughout the hotel.
Reach Room 508
Clear the baggage blocking the corridor with Suction Shot. Search the rooms as you move toward 508, E. Gadd’s suite. Chambrea swallows the briefcase when Luigi interrupts her; follow her out into the neighbouring rooms.
Chambrea — attach the plunger to the case
Flash Chambrea when she is exposed, then fire Suction Shot at the briefcase lodged inside her. Vacuum the plunger rope and slam her. Ordinary suction on her body does not remove the case. She retreats after taking damage; use Dark-Light on her trail to identify the next room and repeat the case attack.
Unlock Gooigi
Return the briefcase to the lab. Complete the tutorial: summon Gooigi, move through bars and operate the mechanism that frees Luigi. Switch with the right-stick button while keeping an action held when a puzzle needs both characters at once. Water dissolves Gooigi, so Luigi must handle flooded passages.
Return to the starting suites
Use two plungers simultaneously on the heavy sofa blocking Rooms 501–503. Restore the absent doors with Dark-Light. These rooms contain the red and yellow gem routes, which are unavailable during the first chase.
Room 502 water repair
In Mario’s bathroom, send Gooigi below the floor and restore the water supply at the covered valve. Then turn the bath taps as Luigi. The floating container must be pulled out and smashed; turning dry taps alone never produces the gem.
Before 3F
Finish any accessible basement and Grand Lobby gems with Gooigi. Install the new elevator button for 3F and proceed to Hotel Shops. The complete six-gem page lists the remaining room and balcony checks.

Use the six-colour list to finish this floor. Check the required return visit before trying a route that needs Gooigi, Super Suction or the later Toad mission.
