Super Mario 64 DS

Super Mario 64 DS guide hub

Collect all 150 Power Stars in Super Mario 64 DS: seven mission stars and one 100-Coin Star in each of fifteen main courses, plus thirty castle Secret Stars. Start with Yoshi, rescue Mario, Luigi and Wario, and return with their abilities for the objectives you could not complete earlier.

These routes follow the Nintendo DS remake. Its Silver Stars, Star Switches, character powers and several mission orders differ from the Nintendo 64 game included in Super Mario 3D All-Stars.

Castle stars, characters and mini-games

A practical route through the castle

Collect eight early stars and rescue Mario through Goomboss Battle. At twelve stars, open Bowser in the Dark World as Mario and win the basement key. At fifteen, activate the ? Switch and use the mansion attic to rescue Luigi.

At thirty stars, open the basement’s large door and collect Board Bowser’s Sub. Defeat Bowser in the Fire Sea for the upstairs key, then use Luigi’s invisibility in the mirror room to reach Wario’s rescue course. Revisit earlier courses for Black Bricks, grates, frozen coins and Power Flower objectives.

The tower door opens at fifty stars. Reach eighty and use Mario for the endless staircase and final Bowser. After the ending, finish the fifteen 100-Coin Stars, castle side courses, Toad gifts and glowing rabbits for the 150-star file. The outdoor cannon then opens for the roof and Luigi’s last mini-game rabbit.

Track the last missing stars

A course’s seven mission icons do not include its extra 100-Coin Star. Check the coin-star record as well as the named missions. Coins must be collected in one visit to that course: Yellow Coins count one, Red Coins two and Blue Coins five.

For the castle total, use the thirty-star checklist. Commonly missed rewards include the slide’s under-twenty-one-second star, the three Toad gifts and the glowing-rabbit key. Rescue-course bosses give character keys, while their Red Coin and switch challenges give separate stars.
