Course 15 — Rainbow Ride. Beyond the fifty-star door, take the high opening on the right of the clock and drop down its shaft. The opposite opening leads to Over the Rainbows. This chapter covers the seven named DS missions and the separate 100-Coin Star.

Mission 1 — Cruiser Crossing the Rainbow
Bring Wario and make sure the ? Blocks are active. Ride the opening carpet to the rotating platforms, take the carpet on the right and continue to the pair of routes. The left carpet leads upward to the flying ship.
Stay close enough to the carpet that it does not leave without you, jumping over obstacles and back onto it promptly. On the ship, use the Power Flower to become Metal Wario and walk into the wind at the bow to collect the star. The DS wind makes the metal ability part of this mission’s intended solution.
Mission 2 — The Big House in the Sky
Follow the opening carpet to the rotating platforms and continue to the two upper carpet routes. Take the right-hand carpet toward the large house. It passes through the house twice before reaching its roof.
Jump over obstructions and land back on the carpet quickly so the ride continues. At the end, step onto the roof and collect the star. Do not abandon the carpet after its first passage through the building: the later part of the same route carries you higher.
Mission 3 — Coins Amassed in a Maze
Ride the first carpet and continue straight beyond the rotating platforms to the tall stone maze. All eight Red Coins are distributed through this vertical structure.
Work upward through its ledges, using the walls and safe platforms to line up each jump. Mario’s wall kicks are useful for the high narrow section. Collect the full set, then return to the star marker. Check the map for the final coin’s height rather than jumping from the maze’s outside edge toward a marker you cannot yet see.
Mission 4 — Swingin’ in the Breeze
From the rotating-platform junction, take the pole down on the left. Follow the lower obstacle route across its swinging platforms and gaps.
At the branch near the Goomba, climb the wooden ramp with projecting square platforms. Reach the star at the end. The other branch leads to the triangle puzzle, so keep the ramp as your landmark. Pause on a fixed landing before a swing transfer instead of trying to correct a long jump over open sky.
Mission 5 — Tricky Triangles!
Follow the lower route used for Swingin’ in the Breeze. At the branch, continue forward rather than climbing the wooden ramp to that mission’s star.
Reach the red floor switch and inspect the triangular platforms before pressing it. The switch turns them into usable steps temporarily. Jump up the sequence to the star before they reset. Choose a controlled climbing rhythm and repeat the switch if you miss the opening; trying to land on a platform as it flips back is much less reliable.
Mission 6 — Somewhere Over the Rainbow
Use Mario to climb the stone maze’s narrow high walls with wall kicks. Speak to the Bob-omb Buddy at the top to open the flying ship’s cannon, then take the carpet route back to the ship.
Enter the cannon and aim for the tree on the isolated island across the rainbow. Catch the tree to stop your flight, drop onto the island and avoid the Chuckya. Break the yellow block for the star. Opening the cannon is a separate preparation step; visiting the ship first does not make it available automatically.
Mission 7 — Switch Star of the Manor
Use Mario and active ? Blocks. Ride to the house and stay with the carpet until its final exit toward the roof. Step onto the wooden bridge with the Star Switch.
Press it, enter the house and use the Power Flower to float upward. Go through the high window to the roof and collect the star before the timer ends. Following the entire carpet loop again is too slow; Mario’s balloon route is the intended shortcut from the switch.
100-Coin Star
Start with the coins behind the opening platform, using a careful long jump to its solid rear landing. Continue to the stone maze for all eight Red Coins and the six Blue Coins released by its switch, worth thirty.
Gather the coins around the rotating platforms and defeat the Lakitu for its valuable reward. Continue toward the ship and house for the remaining supplies. Mario is useful for the maze’s wall-kick coin route. This is a long, exposed run, so collect the temporary Blue Coins successfully before committing to the lengthy upper carpets.
