Course 14 — Tick Tock Clock. Beyond the fifty-star door in the tower, jump into the clock face. Enter near twelve for stopped mechanisms, or clearly away from twelve for moving hands. This chapter covers the seven named DS missions and the separate 100-Coin Star.

Mission 1 — Luigi in the Cage
Bring Luigi and activate the ? Blocks. Enter the clock when its large hand is near twelve to stop the machinery and simplify the climb. Pass the first large horizontal hand and continue above the lower cage to the pole and higher steps.
Take the Power Flower beneath the upper cage to become invisible, then drop toward the lower cage along the wall marked twelve. Pass through the grating and collect its star before the effect expires. The DS solution uses Luigi’s invisibility rather than simply finding an open roll-in entrance.
Mission 2 — The Pendulum Switch Star
Enter near twelve on the clock face to keep the mechanisms still. Climb past the lower cage and up the pole. On the next platform, locate the Star Switch and study the route toward the pendulum side.
Press the switch and hurry along the opposite direction from the pole to the sphere. Jump the fixed gaps cleanly rather than waiting for machinery that you deliberately stopped. If you chose a moving setting, return and re-enter near twelve for a more predictable timed run.
Mission 3 — Get a Hand
Enter with the clock’s large hand clearly away from twelve so the machinery runs. Climb to the first long horizontal clock hand and step onto it.
Ride until it carries you in front of the wall recess containing the star, then jump onto the ledge. Entering with time stopped prevents this intended transport from working. Wait for the hand’s next pass rather than jumping from its tip while it still points away from the recess.
Mission 4 — Stomp on the Thwomp
Use a moving-clock entry, then climb beyond the pole and the lower cages to the course’s upper route. Transfer across the moving blocks and conveyor sections until you reach the second large horizontal hand.
Ride it to the far conveyor and approach the Thwomp. Wait for it to slam, jump onto its top as it rises and ride up to the star. Keep the moving setting for the intended climb and do not stand under the Thwomp while judging its timing.
Mission 5 — Timed Jumps on Moving Bars
Bring Wario and enter near twelve for stopped machinery. Climb to the red ? Block used in the Luigi cage route, then take the adjacent steps to the upper cage.
A Black Brick blocks its opening. Break it with Wario and enter to collect the star. Despite the mission’s familiar moving-bar title, the DS obstacle is the heavy brick. Check that you still have Wario’s cap if borrowing his form; a hit on the way up can leave you unable to break it.
Mission 6 — Stop Time for Red Coins
Enter when the large hand is near twelve so the rotating rectangular platforms remain fixed. From the beginning, take the red-coin platforms on the side opposite the normal upward route.
Collect all eight Red Coins while climbing the stationary blocks, then return to the star marker. If the platforms keep flipping, the entry setting was not close enough to the stopped position. Re-enter rather than turning a simple collection route into a sequence of moving-edge jumps.
Mission 7 — Tick Tock Silver Stars
Choose this mission and stop the clock near twelve. Five Silver Stars descend toward the starting part of the course. Watch the lower-screen markers and catch them before they fall into the void.
After collecting all five, climb to the Star Sphere around the middle height, on the side marked six above the pole route. Do not leave a falling Silver Star behind just because four are already collected. If one escapes into the pit, restart the mission rather than searching a higher platform for a sixth.
100-Coin Star
Start with the yellow block holding ten coins and the eight Red Coins, worth sixteen more. Climb to the Blue Coin Switch and prepare for its seven-coin trail, worth thirty-five.
Break the remaining useful blocks and defeat the enemies while working upward. Coins are less forgiving here than in the open courses, so avoid wasting temporary Blue Coins. A stopped-clock entry makes many jumps easier, but choose a moving setting if you need a lift for your planned route. Arrange the last pickup on solid ground and collect the star before climbing away.
