Course 13 — Tiny-Huge Island. In the upstairs island room, the small painting puts you on the tiny island and the large painting on the huge island. Green pipes switch the scale inside. This chapter covers the seven named DS missions and the separate 100-Coin Star.

Mission 1 — Pluck the Piranha Flower
Enter the small painting to arrive large relative to the island. Follow the short path to the green pipe, using a triple jump to reach its ledge, then enter it to become small relative to the same scenery.
Defeat the giant Piranha Plants that appear around this area. A Mushroom released by pounding a nearby post lets you become giant and deal with them more easily. Clear the whole group to reveal the star. The size switch is important: the tiny plants seen on the miniature island are not the same fight.
Mission 2 — The Tip Top of the Huge Island
Enter the large painting to explore the huge island. Pass through the small opening near the beginning to the beach, then follow the route around the mountain, long-jumping the gaps.
Climb the path used by the rolling iron balls and continue toward the summit. Just below the top, break the yellow block for the star. The green pipes change scale if you arrive on the wrong island. Avoid taking the miniature route straight to the tiny summit and expecting the same yellow block there.
Mission 3 — Rematch with Koopa the Quick
Use Mario and reach the huge island’s rolling-ball route. Near the hole producing the balls, take the side path to Koopa the Quick and accept his rematch.
Race down toward the green pipe at the far end of the route. Keep a controlled line over the narrow ground and cross the windy bridge without stopping on its edge. Reach the flag first and wait for Koopa to arrive, then collect the star. If you lose, repeat the race rather than looking for a second finish elsewhere on the island.
Mission 4 — Klepto the Condor
Become large on the tiny island and climb near the mountain’s summit. Klepto flies around carrying the star. Jump into him when he approaches, using the summit or a nearby ledge to gain the right height.
The released star lands on an isolated floating island. Return to the green pipe area used for the Piranha Plant mission and press the nearby red switch to create a temporary path to that island. Cross before the platforms vanish and collect the star. Releasing it from the bird is only the first half of the route.
Mission 5 — Wiggler’s Red Coins
Explore the huge island and reach the narrow wooden walkway leading into Wiggler’s cave. The beach Koopa’s shell can help you reach the approach, but dismount safely before the confined interior.
Collect all eight Red Coins across the cave’s narrow platforms. Mario’s wall kicks or Luigi’s backflip help reach the highest coin ledge. Check the camera before crossing each beam and avoid long jumps that carry you past the small landing. The star appears near the difficult high coin after the set is complete.
Mission 6 — Make Wiggler Squirm
While large on the tiny island, climb to the shallow pool at the summit and ground-pound it to drain the water. Use a green pipe to return to the huge island, climb back to the top and enter the opening left in the drained pool.
Inside, fight Wiggler by landing on his head three times. Give him room between hits as he becomes faster and angrier, and avoid touching his body while repositioning. Collect the star after his defeat. Entering the cave for Red Coins alone does not open this separate summit entrance.
Mission 7 — Switch Star on the Island
Reach Wiggler’s cave as Mario or Luigi and climb to the elevated star-shaped platform with the Star Switch. Locate the sphere above before starting the timer.
Press the switch and use Mario’s wall kicks or Luigi’s backflip to climb directly to the star. The confined layout makes a planned jump route faster than circling the entire cave. If you miss and land below, return to the switch for a fresh attempt instead of trying to finish an already expired run.
100-Coin Star
On the huge island, ground-pound the giant Goombas to receive Blue Coins rather than the smaller reward from an ordinary stomp. Defeat the giant Piranha Plants for their coins and collect the beach and hillside supplies.
Finish in Wiggler’s cave with the Red Coins and the Blue Coin Switch route. Learn the narrow-platform route before activating the temporary coins. Using the richer giant-enemy rewards first reduces how many risky ledge coins you need. Collect the resulting star without stepping off a beam while watching the counter.
