March to the house and save. Try to open the door and wait for what happens. Go through the door and talk to the Toad. Free Huey by pulling on him and go outside again. March all the way to the right and cut out the screen with the Tetris stone to get 300 coins and Luigi. Then climb into the tube and press the cut button again. Remove the area between the poles and replace it with the battery card you found in the ship of the Violet Passage.Violet Passage
Here is an overview of things you can find in this level.
- Area 1 > Area 2 > Area 3 – Colourless pit and target.
- Area 1 > Area 2 > Area 3 > Area SF (green warp pipe) – red rescuer toad and target flag.
- Area 1 > Area 2 > Area SE – flute (things) and target flag.
- Area 1 > Area 2 > Area SA (red warp pipe) > Area SD (green warp pipe) – Hammer (things)
- Area 1 > Area 2 > Area SA (red warp pipe) > Area SB (red warp pipe) > Area SC (red warp pipe) – Color star and target vane.
Save, enter the house again and look at the screen. Cut it out and enter the retro world. Everything looks flat and two-dimensional at first glance, but you can switch to a three-dimensional perspective with a press on the Y button. Try it immediately and locate the hidden question mark block as well as the two coins at the rear right. March past the green rock and loot three more blocks. By the way: The Goombas you meet on your way, you easily turn off with a hammer blow.
Go to the first stage in the second area and jump on them. Switch to the 3D perspective, go backwards and walk to the red tube to your left. Climb in, plant another Goomba and fight the Koopa clan clan clan in a conventional way. Continue marching until you come across some green pipes and change perspective again. In this way, you discover a tube that is hidden in the 2D view by the others. Climb in and immediately climb into the red pipe to your right. Attention: You must not switch to the 2D perspective in between, because otherwise you will fall down and can no longer climb into the red tube!
Go to the narrow platforms in the next area and jump over one gap after another without being grilled by the fireballs shooting up. Once you reach the fourth platform, you change perspective and walk along the dark grey path that comes out. Jump against the question mark block, return to the 2D perspective and jump to the fixed platform.
Switch to the 3D perspective and jump into the pit to your right. March quickly past the lava and climb into the red pipe. Wait in the following area for the game to move back into the 2D perspective and fight the Boomerang Bro. Then you walk to the green star, which you immediately collect. Jump against the flag, whereupon you get back to the normal world. Jump all the way up and grab the real green color star.
Repeat the level and enter the retro world again by cutting out the screen in the house. Follow the same path as before until you have slipped through the first red pipe and reached the green pipes. As before, climb into the hidden one, which you can only see in the 3D perspective, and then jump over (!) the red pipe. Jump against the question mark block, march into the green pipe jutting out sideways, and squeeze out the hammer. Climb into another pipe and run into the area to your right.
Jump to the first level, change perspective, follow the opponent backwards and this time decide on the path to your right, which leads you to a few question mark blocks. Plunder them, stand behind them and switch back to the 2D perspective. Change the perspective again, whereupon you are no longer at the back but at the front and can loot another set of blocks and fight the Boomerang Bro.
Enter the next area and jump quickly to the Koopa clan clan clan that meets you. In the 2D perspective, jump onto the beige-colored platform and switch to the 3D perspective. Jump on the small blue lead, target the green box and then jump into the pit inside the white cuboid. Run quickly to the right and past the flag before the perspective changes again. In this way, you get to a question mark block and a green pipe into which you climb.
In the next area, return to the 3D perspective and follow the dark grey path that leads you to numerous coins and a Boomerang Bro. Defeat him to free a red savior toad and march back to the left until you run out of platform. Switch to the 3D perspective, move to the second gray level from below and move back to the 2D perspective. Jump against the question mark block, drop on the floor and move to the right to the narrow aisle. Switch to the 3D perspective one last time and jump over one Cannonball after another until you reach the tube on the other side.
Climb into the pipe, loot the last question mark block and eliminate the final Boomerang Bro before you touch the flag together with the rescue toad. After that, you can leave the level once and for all.
