After the Prologue: Welcome to Rogueport is over and you are at the port, you can find a hammer in the right corner on a crate. With these you can destroy the Crate, which destroys the way to the stairs. Arriving on the marketplace, it is necessary to trigger a mechanism. On the right you will find a blue block that you can beat. On the left is a flower that needs to be drawn. And in the background on the left you will find a block of walls against which you can jump. When all three switches are activated, the safe opens and a bucket appears. Chop it on your head so Huey can talk to you.
In the further course you now go to the right and get right into your first fight. You will now be told how to use the fighting cards correctly. For these Shy Guys, use an old shoe and color it up to half with paint. After three rounds, the guys should be defeated.
Next, color the toad again with the X button. In this part of the city you can color another Toad. Next, go through the door and talk to the Toad. If this is done, it goes back to the marketplace.
After a short cutscene, your task is clear, you have to get the color star somehow.

With the Paint Hammer you can first color the marketplace again and give many toads paint again. Continue to the left and jump from below against the colorful Save Block. Color the toad to your left and enter the store next to the block. Color the next Toad and talk to the seller on your right who will sell you battle cards.
Leave the store and color the gate to your right. You have to hit the white surface with the hammer until it is completely green. The same goes for the many white spots you see on the floor and walls. If you color them, you will receive at least a few coins and sometimes a card for the reward.
Fight the Goomba hiding behind the green gate and color the Toad on the stairs. Go all the way up and revive the Toad on the park bench. March right behind the stairs and enter the next best niche with the Shy Guy. Take care of him and continue to the right, whereupon the next Shy Guy will attack you. Then color the toad to your right and enter the following area. There you come across the next colorless Toad, behind which another Shy Guy hides.
Go forward and hit the flowers with the hammer to refresh your paint. Follow the cry for help and open the blue door to fight against the next Shy Guy. Open the door again and talk to the Toad. Runs all the way to the right and further away the tape with the Bowser logo, whereupon a staircase is created. Go downstairs, march left to Prism Square and color three more toads and all the white spots.
Return to the stairs and destroy the two boxes at the top, whereupon three Goombas attack you. March up, color the chimney to grab a whole pile of coins, and hit the Shy Guy standing next to the waterfall with your hammer. You should use one of your better battle cards in the following battle to defeat your opponent with one stroke. Otherwise, it sucks out your paint to regenerate.
Colour the waterfall and wait for what happens. Then go through the arch that has opened and follow the stairs that lead you to the red color star.
