Locations of the Sparkle Gems
In The Dark Ice & the Shadowy Stage you can find a total of 5 Sparkle Gems. The play begins on a large ice surface and shortly afterwards leads to the third duel against the dark figure skater.
After the boss fight, a quick escape from falling Icicle begins. During this section, you must collect eight sparkling crystal fragments and reach another crystal on an elevated secondary route.
| # | Location |
|---|---|
| 1 | On the first large ice surface, seven figure skaters of the Sauertruppe are waiting. Run a pirouette near each opponent and defeat the entire group. As soon as no opponent is left, the first Sparkle Gem appears. |
| 2 | After the fight, the way to the big portal opens. Don’t go through it yet. Look for a sparkling pose spot on the small side platform to the left of the entrance. Pose there and meet all five markings in the secret room: On the blue snowflakes you perform pirouettes, jump over the yellow markings. Then you get the second Sparkle Gem. |
| 3 | After the rescue of the figure skater-Theets begins the escape from the falling Icicle. Eight sparkling crystal fragments are distributed in the first larger barrel section. Keep moving, use the yellow jump markings and take the lower route at the last part. If you collect all eight fragments, the third Sparkle Gem is created. |
| 4 | Shortly before the end of the escape section, a platform collapses under Princess Peach and the Sparkla. Do not immediately move to the right. Drive up first and use the yellow jump marker. The Figure Skater Sparkla helps Princess Peach with a particularly high jump to the left on an increased lead. There is the fourth Sparkle Gem. |
| 5 | In the last part of the escape you have to overcome further opponents and obstacles together with the figure skater Sparkla. Use the blue snowflakes for common pirouettes and jump over all yellow markings. If you reach the end and execute the final figure, you get the fifth Sparkle Gem. |
Location of the ribbon
You can get the multi-colored act skater-Ribbon directly after the first Sparkle Gem.
After defeating the seven enemies on the large ice sheet, the main path leads up to the portal. Instead, drive first to the right or east past the entrance.
Jump from the small edge to the lower ice surface. The Ribboner lies on the ground and is surrounded by two figure skaters of the Sauertruppe.
Run a pirouette near both opponents. Once defeated, the Ribboner is rescued and hands you the multi-colored actress Ribbon for Stella.
| Rewards | Location | Task |
|---|---|---|
| Multi-coloured skaterin-ribbon | Right side route next to the portal after the first ice surface | Jump to the lower ground and defeat the two opponents orbiting the Ribboner. |
The first ice sheet
Princess Peach begins the play in her figure skater transformation. Drive to the right and follow the snowy path to the large ice surface.
Seven members of the Sauertruppe block access to the portal. You can pass directly on the side of the group, but you need the victory over all opponents for the first Sparkle Gem.
Defeat the seven opponents
Performs a pirouette and slides through opponents during the rotation. The Sauertruppe figure skaters also begin to rotate and can injure Princess Peach when touched.
Wait for a spinning opponent until his attack ends. Then go close to him and start your own pirouette.
| Situation | Procedure |
|---|---|
| Individual opponents | Approach the side and perform a pirouette shortly before him. |
| Several opponents stand together | Start the rotation a little in front of the group and slide through all the villains. |
| The opponent turns | Stay away and wait until his pirouette is finished. |
| Princess Peach slips too far | Steers only with short movements and drive back in a wide arc. |
After defeating all seven enemies, the first Sparkle Gem appears in the middle of the ice sheet.
Check both sides of the road
In front of the portal are two voluntary sideways:
- On the left you will find the pose position for the second Sparkle Gem.
- On the right, a small edge leads down to the ribboner.
Complete both tasks before entering the portal. After the start of the boss fight, you can no longer return to the starting area.
Hidden pose location
In The Dark Ice & the Shadowy Stage, there is a sparkling pose spot. It is located on the small platform to the left of the portal to the boss fight.
| Location | Task | Rewards |
|---|---|---|
| Left side platform immediately in front of the large portal | Poses and meets all five snowflake markings in the secret room. | Second Sparkle Gem |
The five snowflakes meet
Place Princess Peach on the sparkling surface and press ZL or ZR. In the secret room, a short figure skating exam begins.
Blue and yellow snowflakes appear on the ice. The colors demand different actions:
| Marking | Action |
|---|---|
| Blue snowflake | Drive centrally over the marker and perform a pirouette. |
| Yellow snowflake | Drive towards the marker and jump at the right moment. |
The markings appear one after the other. Do not make the movement too early, as Princess Peach will otherwise already turn or jump in front of the snowflake.
If you meet all five requirements, the second Sparkle Gem appears. Then pose on the illuminating surface to return to the take-off area.
Boss fight against the dark skater
Behind the portal, the figure skater Sparkla is held in a large ice prison. The dark figure skater challenges Princess Peach to a third duel.
Ordinary pirouettes do no harm during their normal journey. Wait until the opponent loses his balance after his jumps.
Avoiding the turning attack
The dark figure skater races in a fast pirouette across the arena. During this movement, he is surrounded by swirling snowflakes and cannot be safely attacked.
Keep your distance and travel in a wide circle along the edge. Don’t try to stay right behind him as he can change direction quickly.
| Boss action | Reaction |
|---|---|
| Fast pirouette | Stay away and wait until the opponent finishes the attack. |
| Boss drives towards Princess Peach | Steer gently to the side and avoid tight turns right in front of him. |
| Boss is surrounded by snowflakes | Do not attack. At this stage, Princess Peach can be easily injured. |
| Boss prepares for a jump | Watch the shadows of the falling Icicle. |
Avoid the falling Icicle
The opponent jumps into the air several times. With each jump, large Icicles detach from the Blanket.
Their impact points are indicated by dark shadows on the ice. Leave the marked areas before the Icicles fall off.
The dark figure skater usually performs three jumps in a row. His last jump is particularly high and triggers a larger wave from Icicle.
Attack after the third jump
After the highest jump, the dark figure skater lands unclean and becomes dazed.
Wait until the last Icicles are taken. Then go to him and perform a pirouette.
Princess Peach grabs the opponent and starts a dance together. During this sequence, blue and yellow snowflakes appear again.
Destroying the Ice Prison
Meets a total of five marks during the pair dance:
- Perform a pirouette on blue snowflakes.
- Jump over the yellow snowflakes.
Every successful movement damages the ice prison in the background. If you miss a mark, the rescue did not immediately fail. However, you may have to wait for another round of attack.
Once all the required snowflakes have been hit, the prison breaks up and the figure skater Sparkla is free.
Defeat the dark skater
After the liberation, the weakened opponent drives into the middle of the arena. Princess Peach and the figure skater Sparkla circle him together.
Drive close to the opponent and perform a pirouette. The common sparkling force defeats the dark figure skater.
However, the numerous Icicles that have detached themselves during the fight bring the entire stage to collapse. Princess Peach and Sparkla must flee immediately.
Escape from the Icicle
After the boss fight, the play continues automatically. Great Icicle fall to the ground behind Princess Peach and the Sparkla and destroy parts of the trail.
Keep moving constantly. Some platforms only last a few seconds and collapse immediately after you land.
Use yellow jump markings
Yellow snowflakes or symbols hurl Princess Peach and the Sparkla over high obstacles and wide abysses.
Drive centrally towards the marking and jump at the intended moment. If you are too far on the edge, Princess Peach may not reach the next platform.
| Danger | Procedure |
|---|---|
| High ice wall | Use the yellow snowflake for a common high jump. |
| Wide abyss | Drive to the jump marker and already directs Princess Peach towards the landing surface. |
| Falling Icicle | Watch out for the shadows and go sideways past the impact points. |
| Collapsing platform | Do not stop after landing and jump immediately. |
Blue snowflakes and common pirouettes
Later, opponents appear who attack themselves with a pirouette. A normal twist of Princess Peach is not always enough against these villains.
Drive over a blue snowflake. Princess Peach lifts the figure skater Sparkla over her head and performs a particularly strong joint pirouette.
With this attack, you can defeat multiple enemies at once and move safely through densely occupied areas.
All 8 sparkling crystal fragments
The third Sparkle Gem consists of eight fragments distributed during a fast zigzag section.
You cannot go back in this area. Therefore, before each jump, see which route the next fragment is on.
| Section | Procedure |
|---|---|
| First fragments | Stay on the normal path and drive centrally through the visible parts. |
| Zickzag passage | Steers early to the next page and avoids sudden changes of direction. |
| The last four fragments | Take the lower route. Here is also the hidden Theet after the game. |
| Final fragment | Use the figure skater’s jump aid before moving to the next platform. |
Once you have collected all eight fragments, the third Sparkle Gem automatically assembles.
If you miss a fragment, you have to start the play again. A return is not possible because of the collapsed stage.
Elevated route to the fourth Sparkle Gem
After the passage with the fragments, further platforms collapse under Princess Peach. You end up in an area where the main path continues to the right.
Don’t go to the exit yet. First move up and look for a yellow jump marker.
Use the marking together with the Figure Skater Sparkla. Princess Peach is thrown far up and can jump to a raised lead on the left.
There is the fourth Sparkle Gem.
| Tip | Declaration |
|---|---|
| Brake after collapse | Do not immediately move right out of the area. |
| Drive up first | The required jump marking is above the direct path. |
| Jumping to the left | The crystal is located on a raised edge behind Princess Peach. |
| Then return to the main road. | Jump down again and follow the figure skater Sparkla to the right. |
Joint figure skating final
In the last section, several figure skaters of the Sauertruppe block the way. At the same time, Icicle and parts of the scenery continue to fall down.
Use the blue snowflakes for joint pirouettes and defeat opponents before pushing Princess Peach off the narrow route.
This is followed by a series of yellow jump markings. Drive centrally over each symbol and jump over the last obstacles.
The Final Figure
In the end, Princess Peach and the Figure Skater Sparkla reach a safe stage.
Follow the last jump markings and execute the intended figure skating figure. Both end up in their final position together.
For the successful finale you get the fifth Sparkle Gem and finish the play.
After Completion: Find the Ninja Theets
Upon completion of the main story, you can re-enter the play to find the hidden Ninja Theets.
Since it is a short play in the basement, only one Theet is hidden here.
| # | Location |
|---|---|
| 1 | The Theet is located during the escape in the passage with the eight sparkling crystal fragments. For the last four fragments, take the lower or front route. The Theet hides there between the sixth and seventh fragment, just before the next big jump. |
When collecting the fragments look for
The Theet does not appear in the starting area or in the boss fight. You must first free the Figure Skater Sparkla and begin the escape.
In the passage with the eight fragments, pay particular attention to the lower path. The Theet stands close to the last four fragments and can be easily overlooked due to the automatically continuing escape.
Go straight to him and address him before using the yellow jump marker. After the jump you can not return to this place.
