After completing the main story, you can re-enter the play and search for the hidden Ninja Theets.
Locations of the Sparkle Gems
In The Dark Ninja & the Legion of Guards you can find a total of 5 Sparkle Gems. The play is shorter than the first two ninja adventures, but contains many secret passages.
The first crystal can already be found on the way to the captured Ninja Sparkla. For the second you have to use a hidden pose position. The fourth Sparkle Gem appears during an automatic chase and cannot be collected after passing.
| # | Location |
|---|---|
| 1 | At the beginning, sneak through the high grass and pass the archway between the first two guarded areas. On the left is a guard on a low wooden platform. Move behind the lower step of the pedestal. This is where the first Sparkle Gem is hidden. |
| 2 | After freeing the ninja Sparkla, follow him into the guarded labyrinth. In one of the first areas he demonstrates his shadow technique. Run to the right and destroy the three pitchers on the flat rock. A sparkling pose spot appears underneath. Pose there and jump up in the secret room between the walls and rotating platforms. On the top platform you will find the second Sparkle Gem. |
| 3 | Leave the secret room and go downstairs first. After defeating the two guards at the bushes, the further path opens to the right. But first, move to the left. Behind another guard or the wooden fence, the third Sparkle Gem lies open on the floor. |
| 4 | During the pursuit of the Dark Ninja, Princess Peach automatically runs over collapsing backdrops, roofs and floating walls. After the second section with wall jumps you have to walk along a vertical wall. The fourth Sparkle Gem is located directly on this wall between the coins. Point Princess Peach at him early because you can’t run back. |
| 5 | At the end of the chase, the Ninja Sparkla and the Dark Ninja face a duel on two opposite paths. Perform Princess Peach’s attack in the faded-in moment, so she strikes Sparkla at the same time as the ninja. After the joint hit, the Dark Ninja is defeated and you receive the fifth Sparkle Gem. |
Location of the ribbon
The multi-colored ninja ribbon can be found in the guarded labyrinth. After you have escaped the trap with the rising wooden skewers, you reach a water area.
Defeat the guard on the right, but do not swim on the normal path. Instead, dive north or upward under the wooden wall.
Behind the wall a guard patrols with a lantern. Hide in the water until she turns her back on Princess Peach and then turns her off.
The guard holds the ribbon with its light. Once you defeat her, he is freed and gives you the multi-colored ninja ribbon for Stella.
| Rewards | Location | Task |
|---|---|---|
| Multicoloured ninja ribbon | Hidden waterway after the wooden skewer | Dive north under the wall and defeat the Lantern Guard at the Ribboner. |
Freeing the Ninja Sparkla
At the beginning of the play, the Ninja Sparkla is held on a hill by several guards. A guard wears a lantern while a stronger red swordsman stands right next to the prisoner.
You must first sneak through two areas of tall grass. As long as Princess Peach is completely hidden in the grass, the lamppost guards cannot recognize her.
Sneaking through the tall grass
Watch the light cones of the guards and move only when they look in a different direction. Between the grass areas are walls and wooden platforms, which also serve as cover.
| Situation | Procedure |
|---|---|
| Guard looks away from Princess Peach | Move quickly to the next grassy area or wall. |
| Lantern points in your direction | Stay completely hidden in the grass and wait. |
| The guard walks past Princess Peach | Follow it with some distance and then attack from behind. |
| Princess Peach is Discovered | Retreat immediately to the next hiding place and wait until the search has ended. |
Defeat the Red Guard
Once you have reached the hill, you must first turn off the ordinary lamppost guard. Afterwards, sneak up to the red swordsman.
Do not attack him from the front. Wait until he moves away from the captured ninja Sparkla or looks in another direction. An attack from behind defeats him and frees the prisoner.
After the rescue, the Ninja Sparkla accompanies you through the rest of the play.
The Guarded Labyrinth
The path to the great tower leads through a labyrinth of carpet surfaces, wooden walls, water channels and guarded passageways.
The individual areas are connected like square spaces. Don’t just pay attention to the direct exit. The first Sparkle Gem, the pose site, the third crystal and the ribbon are located at branches.
The shadow technique
The Ninja Sparkla can move between certain points using its shadow technique. Follow him to the marked places and use the existing hiding places to bypass the next guards.
Princess Peach himself can camouflage himself on walls, in tall grass and under water. Stay in your hiding place until the cone of light has completely passed.
| Hidden | Use |
|---|---|
| High grass | Stay standing or moving slowly while the guard lights up in your direction. |
| Wooden wall | Press Princess Peach close to the wall and wait until the guard has passed. |
| Water | Immerse yourself in order to avoid lamp-watches and their light cones. |
| Increased platform | Use wall jumps to get over guards or reach an alternative path. |
Separate guards from each other
If two guards meet, you should not attack them directly. Wait until their walks separate, or follow a guard into a neighboring area.
Turn off the guard that is furthest away from the remaining opponents. Then you can safely reach the second guard from behind.
Do not overlook the third Sparkle Gem
After the secret pose room you get to two guards by a bush. Defeat both so that the path to the right opens.
Do not follow the Ninja Sparkla yet. Run back instead or to the left. There, another opponent guards a small area behind the wooden fence.
Turn off the guard and collect the third Sparkle Gem. Then you return to the open main path.
The trap with the wooden skewers
In the labyrinth, Princess Peach and the ninja Sparkla fall into a trap. Numerous pointed wooden rods move out of the ground and gradually block the room.
Don’t stay at the bottom. Jump straight to the safe platforms and work your way up with wall jumps.
| Danger | Procedure |
|---|---|
| Skewers driving from the ground | Jump immediately to the next elevated platform. |
| Narrow wall area | Jumps up alternately between the two walls. |
| The platform is hidden | Do not stop and jump directly to the next safe place. |
| Exit is reached | Jumps completely to the upper platform before the last skewers move out. |
Immediately after the trap you reach the water area with the hidden path to the ribboner.
Hidden pose location
In The Dark Ninja & the Legion of Guards, there is a sparkling pose spot. She is in the labyrinth after the ninja Sparkla has shown his shadow technique.
| Location | Task | Rewards |
|---|---|---|
| Under three pitchers on a flat rock in the labyrinth | Poses and jumps up the walls and rotating platforms in the secret room. | Second Sparkle Gem |
Wall jumps in the secret room
First destroy all three pitchers. Once the sparkling stars appear, put Princess Peach in their center and press ZL or ZR.
Jump up in the secret room between the two walls. Then land on the first rotating platform and wait until it carries Princess Peach towards the next wall.
Use another wall jump and reach the second moving platform. From there you reach the highest advantage with the Sparkle Gem.
If you fall down, you can start the ascension again.
Defeat the six guards
At the end of the labyrinth, Princess Peach and the Ninja Sparkla are surrounded by six spear guards.
The Ninja Sparkla uses a smoking technique. Due to the dense fog, the opponents can no longer correctly recognize Princess Peach.
Take the opportunity and turn off the guards quickly one after the other. Move between the enemies and attack everyone from behind or from the smoke.
| Tip | Declaration |
|---|---|
| Staying in the smoke | Do not leave the cloud unnecessarily. Outside, the guards can recognize you more easily. |
| External guards first | Start with an opponent on the edge and work your way through the group. |
| Do not stand in front of the spears | Avoid the guards from the side and attack them from behind. |
| Continue quickly | Use the entire duration of the smoke cloud before the view gets better again. |
If all six guards are defeated, Princess Peach and the Ninja Sparkla can enter the great tower.
chase through the tower
In the tower, the red guardian from the beginning is recognizable as Dark Ninja. He uses a special technique through which walls, roofs and other parts of the backdrop fall to the ground.
Princess Peach and the ninja Sparkla follow him in an automatically running section. You cannot stop or return to missed items.
Jumping over falling scenery
Watch the platforms outside Princess Peach. Some walls tilt down and form a safe path only for a short time.
Jump off the edge as late as possible so that Princess Peach reaches the next platform safely. During wall jumps, you must press the button only when Princess Peach touches the vertical surface.
| Danger | Procedure |
|---|---|
| Falling wall | Wait until it forms a walk-in angle and then jump on it. |
| Wall Jump | Jump against the wall and press the jump button again during contact. |
| Narrow bar | Jump on it in the middle and immediately push yourself to the next platform. |
| Flying opponent | Attacks him during the jump or avoids his trajectory. |
Fourth Sparkle Gem
After the second major Wall Jump, Princess Peach reaches a long vertical wall. It automatically runs along it.
The fourth Sparkle Gem is visible on this wall. Hold Princess Peach at its height and don’t jump to the next platform too early.
Once you have passed the crystal, you have to restart the play to collect it.
Boss fight against the Dark Ninja
The battle against the Dark Ninja is shorter than ordinary boss fights. Decisive is the right timing in the joint attack with the Ninja Sparkla.
At the end of the pursuit, the Ninja Sparkla and the Dark Ninja run on two opposite paths. Princess Peach moves between them over floating walls and roofs.
Working with Ninja Sparkla
Watch when the Ninja Sparkla and the Dark Ninja approach each other. As soon as the displayed attack button appears, you must press it in time.
Princess Peach then attacks together with the ninja Sparkla. If you press too early or too late, the Dark Ninja can decide the collision for itself and the section is repeated.
| Situation | Procedure |
|---|---|
| Both ninjas run towards each other | Watch the distance and wait for the faded button. |
| Attack signal appears | Press the attack button immediately. |
| Attack fails | Prepare for the repetition of the short section. |
| Joint hit succeeds | Princess Peach and the Ninja Sparkla defeat the Dark Ninja with a combined attack. |
After the successful attack, the Dark Ninja is defeated. You will receive the fifth Sparkle Gem and finally free the Ninja Sparkla.
After Completion: Find the Ninja Theets
Upon completion of the main story, you can re-enter the play to find the hidden Ninja Theets.
Since it is a short play in the basement, only one Theet is hidden here.
| # | Location |
|---|---|
| 1 | The Theet is located in the labyrinth shortly after the third Sparkle Gem. Look in the room immediately before the trap with the rising wooden skewers. He disguises himself next to three jugs in front of a purple wall hanging. |
Look for Theet in front of the wooden skewer trap
After collecting the third Sparkle Gem, follow the Ninja Sparkla through the labyrinth.
Examine the next room thoroughly before entering the wooden skewer trap area. In addition to three pitchers, a purple fabric hangs on the wall.
The Theet has adapted its clothes to the paint of the wall hanging and is therefore easy to miss. Speak to him before you set the trap.
