Rocky Road
The Sweet Galaxy is one of the additional galaxies you can unlock by feeding a Hungry Luma. Once you have collected at least seven Power Stars, you will find a hungry Luma in front of the terrace of the Comet Observatory, where you can choose your first galaxies. Talk to him and feed him a total of 400 Star Bits. Once his hunger is satisfied, he turns into a new Launch Star and makes the Sweet Galaxy appear. Use the Launch Star to fly right there. Unlike in most galaxies so far, neither an ordinary enemy nor a large final boss awaits you here. Instead, you’ll have to overcome an obstacle course made entirely of giant cookies, chocolate and other sweets. The greatest challenge is the constantly moving conveyor belts, whose surfaces are covered with differently shaped holes. One careless step is enough, and you plunge into the depths. Since there is no time limit for this mission, you should watch the movements of the platforms closely and do not rush unnecessarily.
Run forward from your starting platform and enter the first conveyor belt. The ground moves against your direction of travel, while regular circular and triangular openings pass you. Remains as far as possible on the wider surfaces and avoids unnecessary jumps, because the movement of the conveyor belt can not always reliably estimate the landing. Watch the holes in front of you and adjust your direction accordingly. Soon you will reach the first electrical barriers that run across the path. You have to jump here to avoid harm. Before each jump, pay attention to which platform area is immediately behind the obstacle so that you do not fall through one of the holes immediately after landing. After two such barriers, you reach a secure platform and turn right. In the next section, the conveyor belts move alternately to the left and right, so you have to constantly control against their lateral movement. The electrical barriers at the outer edges are particularly dangerous. Therefore, if possible, hold yourself in the middle and correct your position in time before the band pushes against one of the barriers. In addition, pay attention to the changing running direction of the individual conveyor belts, because when moving to the next belt, the direction in which Mario is pulled also changes.
Once you have survived this section, you will reach another fixed platform where you will encounter some Toads. Here you can briefly orient yourself before you tackle the next part of the course. In front of you is now a larger, chocolate-brown conveyor track, the substrate of which shifts in a circular movement. The openings are in some cases significantly larger and have different shapes. Therefore, do not attempt to overcome each obstacle with a jump, but wait for a more favorable position of the conveyor belt if necessary. Especially with the particularly large holes, it makes sense to keep your position short until a sufficiently wide area passes again. Halfway, you can also collect a 1-up mushroom that will give you an extra life. Take it with you if possible, as long as you can reach it without much risk. Some Star Bits are also along the way. Collect them when a safe opportunity presents itself, but do not let this distract you from the moving openings. Work your way forward bit by bit until you have solid ground under your feet again and reach the last section of the cookie factory.
The final part requires you once again particularly good timing. Here, larger cookie platforms alternate with small, round treads, while several electrical barriers block the path. Unlike before, some sections consist only of individual round platforms, between which there are large gaps. Therefore, first observe how the individual surfaces move, and only jump off when you can see a safe landing opportunity. It is especially helpful to jump from a small round platform to a larger contiguous area, as you have more space for the landing there. You should overcome the electric shockers if possible with a single well-timed jump. If you need some extra range when jumping, you can still perform a spin attack in the air. However, make sure that you do not shoot beyond your actual goal. Do not be tempted by the last obstacles to hectic movements, because shortly before the goal you can crash just as easily as at the beginning. Once you have left the last electrical barrier behind you, the most dangerous part is done.
Finally, at the end of the course, a huge, multi-storey cake awaits you. Run over to it and climb up over the individual layers of cake. Before you grab the star, you can collect some additional Star Bits. There are small sweets and embellishments on the cake, where you can expose more Star Bits with a spin. Then you climb up to the top layer, where the Power Star is already waiting for you. With this, you have completed the only mission of the Sweet Galaxy and can dedicate yourself to the remaining galaxies of the Super Mario Galaxy complete solution.
