Rolling in the Clouds
The Rolling Green Galaxy can be found in the comet observatory bathroom once you have collected at least 11 Power Stars. An unusual challenge awaits you in this small galaxy, because instead of jumping through the area as usual, you must steer Mario on a huge Star Ball through an obstacle course. Immediately after your landing, you will discover the transparent ball, inside of which the desired Power Star is already located. First, talk to Schildhilf, who will tell you how to control the Star Ball. Then jump on the ball and hold the Wii remote so that it points upwards. If you now gently tilt it forward, back or to the side, the ball begins to move in the appropriate direction. With the A button you can also jump, which will be especially helpful with the later obstacles. Get used to the controls a bit, because the Star Ball reacts much more slowly than Mario himself. The more you incline the remote, the faster it rolls, but you also need some space to brake it again. Therefore, move on narrow paths with as small corrections as possible. Once you feel safe, roll to the circular opening at the end of the launch platform. This is a Star Ball cannon that automatically catapults you to the next celestial body.
You end up on a small, green planet where some Goombas and mini-Goombas walk around. However, these do not pose a particularly great danger, as you can simply roll them over with your heavy Star Ball. Just make sure that the clashes do not take you out of your desired direction. There are also numerous coins on the surface that you can collect when passing by. Take a look around and take the accessible coins with you before rolling to the next opening. This is located at the end of the small planet and leads you to a construction of two parallel rails. The Star Ball rolls along here until you finally reach the large, grassy main planet. From now on the track will be much more demanding. Everywhere in the ground there are large holes, between which only narrow paths are left. In addition, there are other Goombas who can not seriously stop you, but still change your direction in the event of unfavorable collisions. Therefore, move as slowly as possible over the first platforms and always keep the ball in the middle of the way. Especially with the larger openings you should not try to rush past at high speed. Rather, pick up the tempo, set up the Wii remote and roll on until you can see the next safe surface in front of you. Along the way, you’ll find additional coins, Star Bits, and occasionally a 1-Up Mushroom. However, some of these objects are dangerously close to the abysses. Therefore, only try to collect them if you can then redirect the Star Ball safely back to the main path.
After you have overcome the first dangerous spots, the route leads you over a narrow stone path to a larger platform covered with flowers. Here, the trail is divided into two different routes, both leading to the last Star Ball Cannon. Choose the right path if you want to get to the Power Star as safely as possible. This gives you a little more space to maneuver, but you have to skip a gap on the way. To do this, first roll straight towards the opening, build up some speed and press the A button just before the edge. Make sure that the Star Ball is aligned as straight as possible during the jump so that you land safely on the opposite platform. Brakes in time to avoid rolling over the next edge. The left path, on the other hand, is much narrower and demands a particularly quiet control. Here you can collect additional Star Bits or a? coin, but there is hardly any room for major course corrections. Maintains the remote control as far as possible and inclines it only slightly in the desired direction. Once the ball has started rolling, you should avoid hectic counter-movements, as you quickly lose your balance. Both paths finally meet again and lead you to the last cannon. Carefully roll into the circular opening so that the Star Ball is thrown through space one last time.
After the flight you reach a small planet on which a large windmill and a flagpole stand. You have almost reached the end of the course. No more difficult obstacles await you here, so you can concentrate fully on the last task. Roll over the green surface and steer the Star Ball into the circular depression at the foot of the flagpole. Once the ball is in the opening, its transparent shell breaks and finally releases the trapped Power Star. However, you can not collect it immediately, because the star lands on the top of the flagpole. Therefore, run to his foot, jump to the pole and climb up to the top. There you can grab the Power Star with one last jump. This completes the only mission of the Rolling Green Galaxy. However, you should remember the control of the Star Ball well, because in the later course of the game you expect more galaxies, in which you have to roll with similar balls over much more difficult obstacle routes.
