Flip-Swap Galaxy

Super Mario Galaxy 2 guide hub

Think Before You Shake

Here, every turn lets the platforms fold forward and back, destroying old paths and creating new ones. In the first section you can try out something about how the whole thing works. With each spin, the red and blue platforms change. You have to be careful not to get confused.

The second part is a bit trickier.

Towards the end of this part, you have to be careful not to collide with the electric fences. Follow the path and come to the third part.

The third part is very tricky, as Chain Chomps come through black holes here. They always come at certain points and always travel a certain path. The easiest way to dodge them is to throw them down by switching platforms.

Comet Medal

The Comet Medal is located on a blue platform.

Then move on to the last part.

The last part is tricky. In the last part, there are many electrical barriers that make progress. At the same time, a lot of turning is necessary, sometimes even if you have to go through between electrical barriers. Once you’ve done that part too, you can call the Power Star your own.

Purple Coin Flip 'n' Sprint

Select this challenge when the Prankster Comet appears.

In this mission, your task is to collect 100 Purple Coins within 3 minutes. It is again the same course as in the first mission, only with more obstacles. You have to collect all 100 Purple Coins. The main problem is time pressure, even if it sounds three minutes long. In addition, you have to be careful not to swirl wrong. In addition, there are other electric fences that now move back and forth on the ground, Chain Chomps are also back. So this mission is more for good players. When you collect all 100 Purple Coins, the Power Star appears. If you don’t make it within the time limit, you lose a life.

Comet Medal

Search the fourth panel section with four sets of rolling Chomps. Cross to the medal between their routes, timing spins so a landing panel remains under Mario.

Green Stars — unlock requirement

Collect all 120 regular stars and defeat Bowser again to unlock the Green Star hunt. Choose the corresponding Green Star mission from this galaxy’s mission screen. Follow the detours below rather than collecting the normal mission’s ending star.

Green Star 1

In the second platform section, look above a red panel. Triple-jump or backflip and add a spin at the top. Remember that spinning swaps the panels: plan the landing as well as the height.

Green Star 2

Reach the fourth section, where Chomps roll across the panels. The star is above a red platform. Let a Chomp pass, then backflip or triple-jump into the star before the next one emerges.

Check each numbered Green Star on the mission screen after collecting it. The routes finish immediately when the star is touched, including stars suspended over a gap.
