Clockwork Ruins Galaxy

Super Mario Galaxy 2 guide hub

Time for Adventure

Jump to the right over the rotating gears. Use the slightly grey platforms and jump up as soon as you threaten to slide down. After the short meadow section, jump on the elongated platform and use the Launch Star at the top of the top.

Touch the Checkpoint Flag and continue to the right. At short intervals, a bluish wall emerges that pushes you off the platform if you don’t dodge. You are only safe with the grey stones. Keep going up and spin the arrow. So the direction of gravity changes and a large piece of the wall is torn off. Run back again and stamp on the red switch below per ground pound. This frees the helpful Luma from his cage and turns into a Launch Star.

On the next planet, huge wheels roll down. These have small holes in which you can hide. In addition, move further up through skilful jump inserts – a Comet Medal floats about the middle. At the top you jump over the spikes up to the nails. With them you can move further up by determining the direction with your stick. On the far right, you finally stomp down.

Now climb the two gears by wall jump, continue to the right and travel with the elevator upwards. Here you will find a new red switch that drives a floor out of the wall and makes huge rolling wheels appear again. Jump into an in-between space and turn up to grab a nail at the end of the way. Swing up to the deserved Power Star.

The Ledge Hammer Trap

This is a secret star!

Choose “Time for Adventure” for this secret star. Now you have to collect a total of 30 coins up to the last, elongated platform to feed the Hungry Luma. Since you have no time limit, a quiet procedure is only recommended. With the rotating gears you can easily fall down, so watch out. Collect every coin you can get and, if necessary, do the opponents with a courageous jump on their head. The Luma can be found below the rotating elongated platform – do not use the Launch Star above, but let yourself fall down on the meadow.

Arriving on the resulting planet, you first run through the Checkpoint Flag. Run quickly to the right and avoid the hammer. Now you can spot a blue switch that slows down time. So you can tune the timing much better. At the end, use the tube so that you get one level up. Here, too, it is necessary to avoid the hammer attacks. Now you can not make an intermediate stop, but have to reach the Power Star in a slide at the end. You jump again and again to arrive against the approaching ground.

The Adventure of the Purple Coins

Select this challenge when the Prankster Comet appears.

And again you have to fight over the gears – but this time collect 100 Purple Coins within five minutes. For this you will first need some attempts to get the right exercise and strategy for it. Because you have to collect every single coin, we have a small overview for you here to know if you have forgotten any.

Comet Medal

On Rolling Drum Planet, check the first slope with huge rolling cogs. Use their recessed sections for shelter while reaching the medal, before continuing to the spike-and-wall-jump section.

Green Stars — unlock requirement

Collect all 120 regular stars and defeat Bowser again to unlock the Green Star hunt. Choose the corresponding Green Star mission from this galaxy’s mission screen. Follow the detours below rather than collecting the normal mission’s ending star.

Green Star 1

In Time for Adventure, reach the third rotating millstone on the starting planet. Ride it up, then jump and spin into the star above its upper edge.

Green Star 2

On the pushing-wall planet, activate the gravity change so Mario walks along the wall. Climb onto the outer border with a backflip and spin, or ride a pushing panel towards it. Follow the upper border to the star at the top-right corner.

Green Star 3

At the giant rolling-drum ending, look beyond the regular Power Star. Ride a large cog towards the green star, then backflip and spin when the cog brings you within reach.

Check each numbered Green Star on the mission screen after collecting it. The routes finish immediately when the star is touched, including stars suspended over a gap.
