The Flotacious Blimp Fruit
Once you have landed on the tree stump, run to the bottom of the planet and grab Yoshi. With him you move back up and swallow the blue Blimp Fruit. With her, Yoshi inflates into a helium balloon and floats for a short time in the air. So you can fly from branch to branch until you finally reach a Launch Star at the top.
Touch the Checkpoint Flag and hover towards the right onto the logs. On the right you will find another berry. Grab it and navigate a bit to the left so you reach the Comet Medal. On the right you drop down and collect one of the five Star Chips. With skillful jumps and the blue fruit, you’ll soon have them all together, so another Launch Star will appear. You have to float past the spiky trees in the middle.
Touch the Checkpoint Flag again and drop down. Then walk up the steps to the left and grab the Blimp Fruit. Stop the lead with the Goomba and take a new one. Take care of the spiky trees. It is best to jump a little to the right and then grab the berry. On your flight, you will encounter more such fruits, all of which you collect to float further and further upwards. In the end, you finally reach a Power Star.
Tall Trunk's Big Slide
Using the swings, swing all the way up to the Launch Star. Run through the Checkpoint Flag and plunge into the slide. You don’t have to put the accelerator or brakes here. Only steer Mario left and right and jump over the obstacles. If you run out of track, shake the Wii Remote while you jump so you fly a little further. Once at the bottom, one of the tree creatures will give you a Power Star.
Tall Trunk’s Purple Coin Slide
Select this challenge when the Prankster Comet appears.
Here you have to master the long tree slide again – but this time you have to collect at least 100 Purple Coins. You will hardly be able to do this on the first attempt, as track knowledge is of the greatest importance here. Don’t try to get every single coin to ultimately fly off the track. There were enough coins distributed so that you can also miss a few. With a lot of skill and practice you will have made it at some point, for which the Gearmo gives you a star.
Comet Medal
On Wood Drum Planet, take the Blimp Fruit near the checkpoint and logs. Float left from that fruit to collect the medal, then descend to resume the Star Chip route.
Green Stars — unlock requirement
Collect all 120 regular stars and defeat Bowser again to unlock the Green Star hunt. Choose the corresponding Green Star mission from this galaxy’s mission screen. Follow the detours below rather than collecting the normal mission’s ending star.
Green Star 1
Choose The Flotacious Blimp Fruit. Near the Life Mushroom, look straight up instead of taking the Launch Star. Inflate Yoshi with a Blimp Fruit and rise into the star.
Green Star 2
Reach Wood Drum Planet in the Blimp Fruit mission. Move around its side until the star is visible towards the upper-left of the log, then drop from the ledge and use a flutter jump to correct your approach.
Green Star 3
Choose Tall Trunk’s Big Slide. Near the angry Wigglers towards the end, steer around the tube until Mario is upside down. Jump from the slide into the star above that inverted route.
Check each numbered Green Star on the mission screen after collecting it. The routes finish immediately when the star is touched, including stars suspended over a gap.
