Return of the Whomp King
Run past the red bomb and jump backwards on the rocky platform. This one follows her up and then turns to the piranha plant on the left. Run over the crashing platforms, balance over the thin board and let the moving plate drive you to the next platform. Near the flagpole you will also find a kind of balcony below. With a skilful jump and a spin you reach it and thus also the Comet Medal. Then you have to go back to the top. At the end of the path you will find rotating plates with which you can reach a Checkpoint Flag.
Boss — Whomp King
Now defeat the Thwomp with a ground pound on his back and jump into the hatch. This is how you get to Whomp King. The method here is exactly the same, you just have to do the whole thing three times. Its landing is painted red on the ground, so you can already position yourself properly. Also take care of the little stone monsters. After a successful fight, you will finally receive the Power Star.
Silver Stars in the Whomp Fortress
Here again you have the task to collect a total of five Silver Stars. You will find the first one right at the beginning of the ramp. Follow the path and take the cloud flower. Stay at this position and recognize a Silver Star under the moving plate. Let yourself fall down and create a cloud at just the right moment. Finally go up again and on to the right until you come to a large block of stone. Behind him are two wooden boxes. Stand on it and fly by cloud flower and long jump to the other clouds, where another Silver Star is placed.
Finally, walk around the entire planet until you are back near the starting point. But this time, follow the rocky ramp and grab another cloud flower on the rotating wooden slab. Then follow the clouds and jump into the middle, where the fourth Silver Star is located. Go to the top of the planet. In the middle above the Bowser symbol, you reach the last Silver Star on another cloud.
Whomp Silver Star Speed Run
Select this challenge when the Prankster Comet appears.
With this comet star, you have to collect all five Silver Stars again – the positions are unchanged. This time you only have two minutes. If you stick to the order of “Silver Stars in the Whomp Fortress” and hurry a bit, that should not be a problem.
Comet Medal
Near the checkpoint on the fortress climb, look below the main path for a small balcony. Jump and spin onto it to collect the medal, then work back to the upper route.
Green Stars — unlock requirement
Collect all 120 regular stars and defeat Bowser again to unlock the Green Star hunt. Choose the corresponding Green Star mission from this galaxy’s mission screen. Follow the detours below rather than collecting the normal mission’s ending star.
Green Star 1
In Return of the Whomp King, approach the early moving platforms. The star is underneath the last one. Watch the platform’s movement and drop from its edge when aligned with the star.
Green Star 2
Climb to the fortress summit in the Whomp King mission. Stand on the Whomp, ride it up and backflip from its top towards the high star.
Green Star 3
Choose Silver Stars in the Whomp Fortress and keep the Cloud Flower. From the cloud holding coins and a Silver Star, build a cloud-platform route out into the sky towards the green star. Save the clouds for this final crossing.
Check each numbered Green Star on the mission screen after collecting it. The routes finish immediately when the star is touched, including stars suspended over a gap.
