After completing the main story, you can activate the Moon Rock in Luncheon Kingdom. This will reveal twelve additional Power Moons that could not be collected before.
57: From Inside a Bright Stone
Travel to the Peronza Plaza checkpoint and head south to Spewart’s former battleground.
Go to the southeastern edge of the platform and look down. Several blue-green rock formations or pillars stand in the sea of lava.
Drop down onto the easternmost stone. There’s a sparkle on its top.
Perform a ground pound attack there to reveal the Power Moon hidden in the stone.
Alternatively, you can capture a lava blob near the lunar cube and swim across the lava directly to the correct rock.
58: Under the Meat Plateau
Travel to the Fast Travel Point Path to Meat Plateau and capture a Lava Bubble.
Swim north through the lava sea. Below the Meat Plateau, a large blue-green rock face rises from the lava.
Go around the wall and look for the shadow of a power moon on its back side.
Jump upwards out of the lava using the lava bubble. Shaking the controller will give you an extra high and long jump.
The Power Moon hovers directly beneath the overhanging rock.
If you narrowly miss it, exit the lava bubble at its highest point with ZL and throw Cappy forward.
59: On Top of a Tall, Tall Roof
Travel to the checkpoint. Ascend to the summit – peak.
From there, look down at the building at the bottom of the volcano cave. You’ll recognize it by the two lanterns next to the entrance.
The Power Moon is located on the high roof of the building.
Perform a long jump from the edge of the upper platform towards the roof. Throw Cappy forward during the jump, then use a diving dive to cover the distance.
Alternatively, you can jump from the area where the large vegetables regularly roll down the mountain.
Land as close to the center of the roof as possible and collect the Power Moon.
60: From a Crack in the Hard Ground
Travel to the Fast Travel Point Path to Meat Plateau.
To the right of the flag is a sloping blue-green rock face. Perform a backflip and jump onto the higher platform.
On the top side you will find two clearly visible cracks in the hard ground.
The correct crack is located west or to the left of the three purple coins.
Perform a ground pound attack at this spot. The ground will crack open, releasing the Power Moon.
61: By the Cannon Pointed at the Big Pot
Travel to the checkpoint. Ascend to the summit – peak.
Go to the lava cannon, which will launch you into the large cooking pot on the volcano.
There are several orange rocks surrounding the cannon. The ground sparkles on one of the raised areas.
Jump onto the rocks to the left of the cannon and follow them to the glowing spot.
Perform a ground pound attack there to make the Power Moon appear.
You don’t need to use the cannon for this moon.
62: Luncheon Kingdom: Master Cup
Return to the Koopa at the exit of the volcano cave. After winning the standard race and activating the Moon Rock, you can participate in the expert race.
The goal is located further up the path to the volcano’s summit. The golden Koopa uses several shortcuts and is difficult to catch on the normal route.
Immediately after the start, jump right across the lava to the platform with the Fire Piranha Plant. Use a long jump, followed by a cap jump and a dive.
Then follow the firm path uphill. When you reach the two lava bubbles in front of the slowly rotating platforms, do not continue straight ahead.
Instead, jump onto the raised ledge on the right and climb up the small steps.
At the end, there’s a glutton in the rock face. Capture him, pull Mario back completely, and let go.
The glutton launches you directly towards the finish line. If you reach the finish line before the golden Koopa, you’ll receive the Power Moon.
63: Stepping Over the Gears
Travel to the Meat Plateau checkpoint. After activating the Moon Rock, a grey Moon Tube has appeared on the upper platform.
Enter the tube to reach a bonus area containing several large gears.
First, jump onto the first gear and run against its direction of rotation. This will keep you roughly at the same height, allowing you to wait for the next platform to be in a favorable position.
Later on, you’ll have to jump over several gears of varying sizes. Watch out for the pan-shaped enemies and the ones that leap out of the openings in the floor.
Capture a pan-brother if needed and eliminate the remaining enemies with his missiles.
Try to move along the wide teeth of the wheels. The narrow gaps spin quickly beneath Mario.
Cross all the gears and reach the final platform. The Power Moon awaits you there.
64: Lanterns on the Gear Steps
This power moon is located in the same gear train as moon number 63.
Capture one of the pan or fire brothers in the bonus area. You need his burning projectiles to light a total of four lanterns.
The first candle holders are located along the normal path and are already visible from the gears.
Another lantern is located a little further away on a raised platform. Wait until the gear has rotated correctly, and shoot the flame from a safe distance.
The last lantern is located near the exit and can only be hit from the rear of the course.
Stay inside the captured enemy until all four lanterns are lit.
Then, in addition to the regular power moon, a second moon appears at the end of the gearbox.
65: Volcano Cave Cruisin‘
Travel to the checkpoint Volcano Cave – Entrance.
First, enter the green tube and cross the two-dimensional section. On the other side, a gray moon tube will have appeared after activating the Moon Rock.
In the bonus area, you land on a blue grid that automatically moves through the volcano cave.
Stay on the platform and avoid the lava blocks. In some places, you’ll need to jump over obstacles or stand at the edge of the grid.
White hats float above larger gaps. Throw Cappy at the hats to temporarily transform them into walkable cloud platforms.
Always activate the clouds just before jumping, as they disappear again after a short time.
Follow the moving grid to the end of the track. There you can collect the Power Moon.
66: Volcano Cave and Mysterious Clouds
This Power Moon is located in the same volcano cave course as Moon number 65.
Stay on the moving grid at the beginning until it moves upwards for the first time along a vertical wall.
Several white hats are floating above you. Throw Cappy at them to create a series of cloud platforms.
Jump onto the first cloud with a backflip and then quickly work your way upwards.
The Power Moon hovers above the highest cloud platform.
After collecting the items, return to the moving grid. Perform a long jump towards the platform, supplementing it with a cap throw and a diving dive if necessary.
If you miss the grid, you have to start the bonus area again.
67: Treasure of the Lava Islands
Return to the Odyssey. There’s a gourmand stuck on the opposite rock face.
Capture him and let him launch you onto the roof of the nearby building. A gray moon tube will have appeared there after the activation of the Moon Rock.
Enter the tube and jump onto the moving blue grate.
In the first section, you capture a lava blob. Swim through the lava blocks and then jump back onto the next grate.
Leave the lava bubble in time so that Mario can land on the metal platform.
As you progress, you’ll need to switch between moving grates and lava bubbles. Before each jump, carefully align yourself with the nearest safe surface.
Towards the end of the course, you swim up a stair-shaped lava track as a lava bubble.
Jump into the last cannon. It will launch you to the exit and the Power Moon.
Exit the lava bubble above the final grate so that Mario can safely land on the platform and collect the moon.
68: Flying Over the Lava Islands
This Power Moon is located in the same Lava Island course as Moon number 67.
Ride the first moving grate to the lava blob and capture it.
Swim through the lava section until you reach the first cannon. It’s located on the right side of the track.
Jump into the cannon and let yourself be hurled through the air.
Below your flight path is a small, floating platform containing the Power Moon.
Exit the lava bubble at the highest point of the cannon flight using ZL. Steer Mario onto the small platform during the fall.
Collect the Power Moon there.
Wait until the moving blue grid approaches your platform again, then jump back. After that, you can continue the course normally and collect Moon number 67.
