Snow Kingdom – Power Moons 21–37

Super Mario Odyssey guide hub

21: Shopping in Shiveria

Visit the Crazy Cap shop in the Shiveria Town and talk to the yellow salesman.

There you can buy the Power Moon for 100 gold coins.

22: Walking on Ice!

Travel to the checkpoint Corner in the Frozen Sea. Right next to the flag is a red door on a small ice island.

Enter the cave beyond and talk to the Koopa. He will show you the outline of a triangle on the ground.

The line disappears as soon as the minigame starts. Now follow the previously shown path as accurately as possible.

Move the left stick carefully, as Mario can easily slip on the ice. Don’t jump or roll; instead, follow the three straight lines at a steady pace.

After the tour, the Koopa will evaluate your route. If you achieve at least 80 points, you will receive the Power Moon.

23: Snowline Circuit Class S

Return to the snowflake slope in the Shivering Hollow settlement. Go back to the left-hand waiting room and capture the Shivering Athlete with whom you already participated in the Grand Prix.

Then speak to the race director. Now you can compete in the more difficult Class S.

The track is identical to the first race track, however your opponents move significantly faster.

Always press the jump button the exact moment your athlete hits the ground. This will help you maintain your speed and jump further forward.

Try to jump as flat as possible over the track. Jumps that are too high cost a lot of time. Also, cut the corners tightly and land preferably on the downhill sections.

If you finish the race in first place, you will receive the Power Moon.

24: Dashing Over Cold Water!

Travel to the checkpoint above the ice fountain and head west. Behind the small ice floes with the three penguins is a door hidden by a thick layer of snow.

Remove the snow with Cappy and enter the bonus area.

A long path across icy water lies ahead. Touch the first rocket flower and start running immediately.

Collect the remaining rocket flowers along the way to maintain Mario’s high speed. Run across the water and avoid the snakes and moving obstacles.

Steer carefully, as Mario can easily slip off the narrow ice surfaces at full speed.

At the end of the track is a green pipe. The Power Moon awaits right next to it.

25: Dashing Above and Beyond!

This Power Moon is located in the same bonus area as the previous moon.

After reaching the first power moon, keep moving and do not enter the green exit tube yet.

Collect the rocket flowers in front of the steep hill and run up the slope at the highest possible speed.

Several blocks will block your direct path on the slope. Stay in the open spaces between them and avoid sharp changes of direction.

If your speed isn’t sufficient, you can fall back into the water and collect the rocket flower there again.

Upon reaching the summit, you will find the second Power Moon next to a Shiverpeak inhabitant.

26: Jump ’n‘ Swim in the Freezing Water

From the Odyssey, head north to the lower-lying snowfield. There is a locked door in the rock face with a scarecrow in front of it.

Throw Cappy at the scarecrow. The door will open, but Cappy will remain behind for the entire task.

In the bonus area, large blocks of icy water move up and down. Jump between the solid platforms and only swim in the water as long as absolutely necessary.

Mario regularly loses health in the icy water. Therefore, leave the water blocks as quickly as possible and use the safe wooden platforms for short breaks.

Also, avoid the Goombas wearing Santa hats. Without Cappy, you can only defeat them with jumps or ground pound attacks.

Follow the course to the green exit tube. The Power Moon is located in front of it.

27: Freezing Water Near the Ceiling

This Power Moon is located in the same bonus area as Moon number 26.

Follow the normal path until you reach the last section with the two large water blocks that move alternately up and down.

Don’t jump straight into the last water block. Instead, wait until it has sunk and stand on top of it.

Let the rising water block carry you to the ceiling. Jump onto the first yellow pole there.

Swing across the remaining poles to the left. At the end, there is a floating water block directly below the ceiling.

Jump in and swim to the Power Moon.

28: Blowing and Sliding

Capture an Ty-foo near the checkpoint Above the Ice Fountain.

Fly with him to the east side of the tall snow column on which the Odyssey stands. Behind the rock face is a large block of wood.

Blow the block to the side. This will reveal a previously hidden door.

In the bonus area, you have to use another Ty-foo to push two colored wooden blocks into the matching recesses.

First, place the red block into the red marker. Then, move the green block into the green indentation. The two blocks will then form a staircase.

Leave the Ty-foo and climb up the blocks. The Power Moon awaits you on the highest platform.

29: Moon Shards in the Cold Room

Visit the purple section of the Crazy Cap store and buy the snow hood and the matching snow outfit. Put on both items of clothing.

In the large assembly room, climb the yellow post to the right of the entrance to the snowflake slope.

On the upper level, a Shiveria inhabitant waits in front of a locked door. Wearing his full snow outfit, he lets you pass.

Enter the green pipe and switch to the two-dimensional area. There you must collect a total of five Moon Shards.

Follow the upper and lower paths through the frozen space, avoiding the stingers. Some fragments are located on raised platforms, others lie in the narrow passages between the ice blocks.

Once you have found all five Moon Shards, the Power Moon will assemble itself outside the green tube.

30: Slip Behind the Ice

This Power Moon is located in the same two-dimensional bonus area as Moon number 29.

Work your way through the frosty room to the upper platform above the green exit pipe.

Jump upwards several times there. This will make an invisible block visible.

Stand on the block and jump again. Another hidden block will appear, granting you access to an opening in the ceiling.

Enter the secret passage and walk to the left. The small breaks in the floor are not real gaps, so you can walk over them without stopping.

At the left end of the hidden area you will find the Power Moon.

31: Spinning Above the Clouds

Near the checkpoint above the ice fountain, a large seed is stuck in a small block of ice.

Break the ice with Cappy and pick up the seed. Carry it towards the Odyssey.

A high rock step blocks your direct access. Briefly put the seed down and pull the wooden stake out of the ground with Cappy.

The released whirlwind carries Mario and the seed to the higher platform.

Take the seed to the flowerpot near the Odyssey. Throw it in so that a large beanstalk will grow.

Climb up the vine. In the bonus area, you have to jump over several spinning flowers and let strong updrafts carry you upwards.

Use the coin rings as a guide and land as close as possible to the center of the next spinning flower. Make full use of the updrafts before heading to the next platform.

The Power Moon awaits at the end of the cloud course.

32: High-Altitude Spinning

This powerful moon is located in the same cloud area as moon number 31.

First, follow the normal route via the spiral flowers and updrafts.

In the back of the course, you’ll reach a particularly high whirlwind. Let it carry you all the way to the top.

The normal path leads to the right from here. Instead, head left, or back towards the beginning.

There’s a single spinning flower off the main path. Land as close to its center as possible.

The flower launches Mario high into the air. At the highest point of the jump, you can collect the Power Moon.

Then return to the main route and complete the bonus area via the normal route.

These moons can be found after completing the main story.

33: Secret Path to Shiveria!

This power moon is located on a remote cliff in the polar region, inaccessible from the normal area.

You need to use a painting in another country. Which painting leads to Snow Kingdom depends on whether you visited Snow Kingdom or Coastland first after Metro Kingdom.

Did you visit the Arctic first?

After completing the main story, travel to the Mushroom Kingdom. Behind the Odyssey, nestled among several trees, is a painting. Jump into it to reach the remote cliff in the Arctic.

Did you visit the Seaside Kingdom first?

Travel to the Main Courtyard checkpoint – Entrance to Bowser’s Kingdom. Walk behind the western (left) building. The painting depicting Polar Kingdom is located at its rear.

Upon arrival, activate the checkpoint on the cliff and open the treasure chest. Inside you will find the Power Moon.

34: Found with Snow Kingdom Art

You’ll find the Snow Kingdom clue art immediately after jumping into the Shiveria settlement. Turn left and examine the picture on the wall.

The image shows Poochy on a tree root in the Lost Kingdom.

Travel to the Rocky Mountain Summit checkpoint. Follow the path north, then head east towards the large tree roots below the propeller platforms.

Compare the arrangement of the roots to the clue art. Stand on the root marked in the picture and perform a stomping attack.

Then the Power Moon appears.

35: Snow Kingdom Regular Cup

After completing the main story, a Koopa awaits in the northwestern part of Snow Kingdom, hosting a freerunning race.

The destination is on the high platform near the Odyssey. The direct route across the ice is not the fastest.

Jump into the water immediately after the start and capture a Cheep Cheep.

Swim with him clockwise around the large land area. This will allow you to shorten a large part of the snowy route.

Leave the Cheep Cheep near the wooden post north of the Odyssey. Use Cappy to pull the post out of the ground.

The resulting whirlwind carries you directly to the elevated platform with the destination.

If you reach the finish line before the other Koopas, you will receive the Power Moon.

36: Hat-and-Seek in the Snow

Go to the snowflake slope in the Shiveria Town.

One of the Shivering Hollows inhabitants is wearing a Bonneter as a disguise. You can recognize the Bonneter you’re looking for by the distinctive eyes on the back of the headgear.

Stand in front of the winner’s podium and examine the inhabitants on the left side of the room.

Once you have found the hat with the eyes, speak to the corresponding Shiveria inhabitant.

The discovered Bonneter leaves its hiding place and hands you the Power Moon.

37: Peach in the Snow Kingdom

This Power Moon is available after you defeat Bowser, visit the Mushroom Kingdom, and speak to Toad in front of Peach Castle.

Go to the central assembly room of the Shiveria Town.

Follow the main path towards the snowflake slope. Several inhabitants of the Shiveria Town are sitting on the steps to the left of the entrance.

Princess Peach and Tiara are there too. Talk to Peach and hear about her travel plans.

Then she gives you the Power Moon.
