After completing the main story, you can activate the Moon Rock in the Lake Kingdom. This will reveal nine additional Power Moons that could not be collected before.
34: Behind the Floodgate
Head to the lock gate north of the Odyssey. It’s the same area where you already opened the zipper for the secret underwater tunnel.
Use the closed flower at the base of the rock face to be launched onto the roof of the lock gate.
Throw Cappy onto the large zipper and pull it completely over the roof. This will open a wide gap.
Let yourself fall down through the opening and turn around immediately after landing.
The Power Moon is located behind the lock gate, right next to the metal grate.
35: High-Flying Leap
Travel to the Lake Lamode checkpoint – Terrace and look towards the southern cliff face.
A power moon hovers above the water near the platform with the green tube from the Note Hunt.
Jump down from the terrace and swim to the closed flower on the rock face.
Throw Cappy at the flower and jump on its center. It will launch Mario high into the air.
Hold the left stick while jumping towards the Power Moon. If necessary, throw Cappy forward and perform a dive to close the gap.
36: Deep, Deep Down
Travel to the Lake Lamode – Entrance checkpoint and capture a Cheep Cheep.
Directly in front of the entrance to Lake Lamode is a particularly deep underwater shaft. You already found Captain Toad in this area.
Dive to the bottom with the Cheep Cheep. Without the transformation, Mario’s oxygen supply will hardly be enough for the long journey.
The Power Moon is floating on the opposite side of the shaft, directly across from Captain Toad’s small campsite.
Swim through the moon and then use the Cheep Cheep to get back to the top safely.
37: Rooftop of the Water Plaza
Go to the roof of the Lake Lamode. You can reach it via the water elevator inside or through the closed flower on the southern outer wall.
Stay on the roof in a northeasterly direction.
There is a single, slightly damaged column or raised platform near the P-switch for the water elevator.
There is a sparkle on its upper side.
Jump onto the pillar and perform a ground pound attack precisely on the glowing spot.
Then the Power Moon emerges from the roof.
38: Bird Traveling Over the Lake
North of the Odyssey, several broken pillars stand in the water. A glowing bird sits on the westernmost pillar after the activation of the lunar cube.
If you approach the bird, it flies away and then circles the eastern part of the lake.
Use the closed flower at the lock gate to reach the roof or one of the high rock ledges.
Observe the bird’s flight path and wait until it passes your position again.
Jump up at the right moment and throw Cappy at him.
If the bird is hit, it drops the Power Moon.
39: Love by the Lake
Behind the Odyssey, a female Goomba lady wearing a red hat awaits her admirer.
Go to the courtyard and capture one of the Goombas by the small fishing pond.
Run down the stairs towards the lake as a Goomba. Do not touch the water, or you will lose the capture.
Hold down the run button and jump from the bottom of the stairs onto the small blue platform where a Lake Kingdom resident is standing.
Then jump from the platform onto the dry beach near the Odyssey.
Go behind the airship and approach the Goomba lady. For a successful romance, you will receive the Power Moon.
40: Lake Kingdom Master Cup
Speak to the Koopa near the Odyssey again. After winning the standard race and activating the Moon Rock, you can participate in the expert race.
The goal is once again on the terrace of the Lake Lamode, where you fought the Broodal.
The stairs to the courtyard are missing during the race. Therefore, immediately after the start, turn left towards the low wall near the woman from Lake Kingdom.
Use a triple jump, followed by a canter dive and a dive, to reach the wall. Perform a wall jump on the wall and pull yourself up into the courtyard.
Run through the courtyard to the large lake and jump into the water.
Capture a Cheep Cheep as quickly as possible at the Lake Lamode entrance and swim through the opening into the dome.
Ascend to the surface of the water in the Lake Lamode and use the closed flower on the southern rock wall to reach the roof.
From there, run the last few meters to the finish flag.
If you reach the terrace in front of the golden Koopa, you will receive the Power Moon.
41: Waves of Poison: Hoppin‘ Over
A grey lunar tube appeared to the east, or rather to the right, of the Odyssey after the activation of the lunar cube.
Enter the tube and capture the frog in the bonus area.
In front of you are several platforms of varying sizes, suspended above a toxic swamp. At regular intervals, large waves of poison roll through the entire area.
Jump from platform to platform with the frog. Its exceptionally high jumps allow you to cross both chasms and poison waves simultaneously.
Observe the rhythm of the waves and jump as close as possible to when they reach your platform.
On some of the smaller islands, there’s hardly any room to maneuver. Don’t stay there; jump directly to the next safe area.
Follow the normal platform path to the end of the bonus area. The Power Moon awaits there.
42: Waves of Poison: Hop to It!
This Power Moon is located in the same frog bonus area as Moon number 41.
First, follow the normal path through the poison waves until you reach the large platform at the end of the course.
Don’t go to the exit yet. Look to your left instead.
There, an additional series of small platforms leads deeper over the toxic swamp. A golden key floats on the last island.
Jump across the side road with the frog and continue to dodge the oncoming waves of poison.
Touch the key. The Power Moon will then appear on the large platform you came from.
Return via the same small islands. If necessary, wait on a slightly larger platform until a wave of poison has passed.
Back on the main platform, you can collect the unlocked Power Moon.
