After completing the main story, you can activate the Moon Rock in Cloud Kingdom. This will cause seven additional Power Moons to appear that could not be collected before.
03: Digging in the…Cloud?
Go to the small hill in the southeastern part of the Nimbus Arena. After activating the Moon Rock, the map will show you the approximate location of the Power Moon.
Stand as precisely as possible on the marker. You’ll also know you’re in the right spot because the controllers will start vibrating more intensely.
Perform a ground pound attack there to reveal the Power Moon hidden beneath the cloud cover.
04: High, High Above the Clouds
Go to the western side of the Nimbus Arena. There, several white hats are floating above the abyss.
Throw Cappy at the hats to temporarily transform them into walkable cloud platforms. Jump across the platforms to the small circular area with the ground pound symbol.
Perform a ground pound attack on the circular platform. It will then rise high like an elevator.
More white hats appear in the air. Throw Cappy at them one after the other and jump across the resulting cloud platforms.
The platforms disappear again after a short time. Therefore, always activate the next cloud before jumping. The Power Moon awaits at the end of the course.
05: Crossing the Cloud Sea
Go to the northern platform where the Moon Rock previously stood. There you will find several more white hats above the sea of clouds.
Throw Cappy at the hats and cross the resulting cloud platforms. The path leads you to a small, separate island.
There is a golden key on the island. As soon as you touch it, the Power Moon will appear on the platform from which you started.
Now return via the cloud platforms. Since the platforms only last a short time, you should always activate the hats just before your next jump.
Once you have safely reached the starting platform, you can collect the Power Moon.
06: Taking Notes: Up and Down
Go to the eastern side of the Nimbus Arena. Throw Cappy at the white hats and jump across the cloud platforms to the small circular area.
Perform a ground pound attack on the elevator to make it go up. Touch the glowing treble clef there.
A total of twelve musical notes appear around the elevator. They are arranged in four groups of three notes each and float at different heights.
Throw Cappy through the different groups of notes as the elevator moves up and down. For the lower notes, wait until the elevator is going back down. You can reach the higher rows while the elevator is going up.
If you collect all the music notes in time, the Power Moon will appear above the platform. Activate the elevator again and ride it up to reach it.
07: Picture Match: A Stellar Goomba!
Enter the green tube in the center of the Nimbus Arena again. It will lead you to the familiar face puzzle.
To create this Power Moon, you need to assemble the Goomba face a second time. This time, however, the task is more difficult: after you’ve looked at the complete face, only the outer outline remains visible.
Position the two eyebrows, the two eyes, and the mouth as precisely as possible in their original positions. Pay particular attention to the distance between the eyes and the height of the eyebrows.
A helpful trick is to take a screenshot using the Nintendo Switch’s capture button before the template disappears. This allows you to view the original face again at any time.
Once you place a piece, it becomes invisible. Therefore, work as symmetrically as possible and orient yourself to the positions already chosen.
If you reach at least 80 points, you will receive the Power Moon.
08: King of the Cube!
Go to the southwest corner of the Nimbus Arena. A grey moon tube will have appeared there after the activation of the Moon Rock.
Enter the tube to reach a two-dimensional area inside a large cube. Your task is to collect a total of five Moon Shards.
Follow the marked path across the different sides of the cube. The green tubes will take you to a different side of the cube.
The Moon Shards are located along the normal path and are generally easy to see. Nevertheless, thoroughly search every face of the cube before entering the next green pipe.
Watch out for the Goombas, the circling Fuzzies, and the lava. When facing moving enemies, wait for a sufficiently large gap before jumping.
Once you’ve collected the fifth moon piece, it will assemble into the Power Moon. Follow the path to the exit to collect it.
09: The Sixth Face
This Power Moon is located in the same bonus area as the previous moon. So, re-enter the gray moon tube in the southwest of the Nimbus Arena.
Follow the path through the two-dimensional cube until you reach the side of the cube with the lava.
Don’t jump down to the lower level immediately. Instead, look for a high, green pipe on the right.
Stand on the small platform directly below the pipe and jump upwards several times. Mario will then hit invisible blocks, which will subsequently become visible.
Use the blocks as stairs and climb up to the green pipe. It will lead you to the hidden sixth side of the cube.
The Power Moon is orbited by several Fuzzies. Wait for a sufficiently large gap between the enemies and jump to the moon at the right moment.
You can then leave the hidden area through the green pipe.
