81 Power Moons are required to enter.
01: New Donk City’s Pest Problem
On your way to the first moon, you’ll have to fight your way through the world and miss many interesting places. It’s best to follow the path past the checkpoints Construction Site, Heliport, and finally New Donk City Hall – Rooftop.
Things get heated here, and the boss fight begins. Capture a tank and then target the Mechawiggler. Its weak point is its glowing limbs. The more often you hit the Mechawiggler, the faster and more ferocious it becomes. Keep moving and dodge its attacks. With a little patience, you can defeat it and obtain the Multi Moon.
02: Drummer on Board!
In the town hall square in the north, you can speak to Mayor Pauline in front of New Donk City Hall. A drummer is sitting to her right. Talk to him for the Power Moon.
03: Guitarist on Board!
Go northeast of the main entrance in the park, where the jump rope is. Talk to the musician with the exclamation mark above his head there as well.
04: Bassist on Board!
You can find the bassist in Mayor Pauline’s Honor Park, which is located in the northeast of the map and can be reached via the power cable.
05: Trumpeter on Board!
South of the café checkpoint, you’ll see an orange pole. Throw your hat at this pole and launch yourself up onto the roof.
Once you reach the top, you’ll see the musician you’re looking for on the roof of the building opposite.
06: Powering Up the Station
At the checkpoint near the café, you’ll find a manhole cover. Capture it and pull it aside. Fight your way down to the generator with the two snapping plants. Get the generator working!
07: A Traditional Festival!
The festival starts immediately after the generator is switched on.
Use the pipes to enter a slightly longer 2D section. Play through the retro section and defeat Donkey Kong at the end.
08: Inside an Iron Girder
Right next to the scarecrow at the construction site (Power Moon #19). Destroy the crates and then step onto the steel beam; you’ll find the Power Moon at the end.
09: Swaying in the Breeze
Right next to the helipad, you can practically grab this moon as you go. It’s floating at the end of a swinging steel beam.
10: Girder Sandwich
On the east side of the starting map is a small, protruding structure – a steel girder construction. It’s best to start from the Town Hall and then run to the corresponding corner. Use a wall jump to climb the structure; you can find a Power Moon in the middle.
11: Glittering Above the Pool
There’s a pool on the roof of a northwest-facing skyscraper, and a moon above it. The quickest way to reach the building itself is to climb to the top of City Hall and make a big jump across.
12: Dizzying Heights
Climb the town hall roof all the way to the top. At the very top, you have to reach the moon with a handstand somersault.
13: Secret Girder Tunnel!
Return to the Odyssey. Directly opposite the clue Toad, on the side facing the fence, there’s a small hole in the steel beam through which you can enter – and directly access the hidden moon.
14: Who Piled Garbage on This?
Jump onto the stationary taxi right at the main access checkpoint, then onto the building’s fire escape and from there onto the roof. Walk to the western end. There you’ll find some shimmering garbage bags. Throw them away and perform a ground pound!
15: Hidden in the Scrap
In Mayor Pauline’s Honor Park, in the far northeast of the map, lie the remains of the Robo Centipede you defeated at the beginning of the level. You can reach this island via the power line. You’ll need to perform a ground pound attack on the scrap metal.
16: Left at the Café?
On the large rooftop café west of the town hall, your controller will start to vibrate. Find the point where the vibration is strongest (roughly in the middle of the café) and use a ground pound there to make the hidden moon appear.
17: Caught Hopping on a Building!
From the „Rooftop Garden“ checkpoint in the southwest of the city (east of the construction site), use the pylons to launch yourself to the rooftop garden in the east (where the two passersby are sitting on the bench). Catch the rabbit for this Power Moon.
18: How Do They Take Out the Trash?
At the northern end of the heliport, a tall red steel beam rises up, topped with a dumpster. To reach it, however, you first need to travel to the roof of the town hall. From its east side, drop down one level to the power line and then zip along it all the way to the top. From there, you can reach the dumpster with a very precise jump.
19: Metro Kingdom Timer Challenge 1
Where the construction site in the north merges into the road, you’ll find a scarecrow (see Moon 8). Activate it with the hat and complete the small obstacle course.
20: Metro Kingdom Timer Challenge 2
On the roof of the town hall, you’ll find a scooter and a blue P-Block. Activate it, and a black and white obstacle course will appear. Ride the scooter through it and collect the key halfway through, and the Power Moon at the end.
