01: Perched on the Castle Roof
Go to the western side of the Peach’s Castle. There you’ll find a scarecrow near the moat.
Throw Cappy at the scarecrow. A long staircase will then appear for a short time, leading all the way to the roof of the palace.
Run up the steps immediately. Since Cappy is staying at the scarecrow, you can’t use cap jumps while climbing.
On the roof you’ll find a white egg with green spots. Jump on the egg to make Yoshi hatch, then capture him.
Go with Yoshi to the northeast side of the castle roof. The Power Moon is hovering above the highest tower.
Use Yoshi’s flutter jump to reach the top. To do this, hold down the jump button after a normal jump.
Alternatively, you can also climb the tower with a precise triple jump, cap throw and diving dive.
02: Pops Out of the Tail
Go west of the large fountain to the small stream.
Follow the stream until you find a lone tree with a strikingly curved branch. The branch resembles the tail of a tanuki.
Throw Cappy onto the top of the branch and hold down the throw button.
Cappy spins around the supposed tail for several seconds.
Then the Power Moon jumps out of the tree.
03: Caught Hopping at Peach’s Castle!
East of the Peach’s Castle is a large garden with several hedges.
A white rabbit is running around among the plants.
The narrow paths in the hedge garden make pursuit difficult. Therefore, don’t just chase after the hare, but try to cut it off at a crossroads.
Throw Cappy at the rabbit as soon as it approaches you. One hit will stun it for a short moment.
Then touch the rabbit to release the Power Moon.
04: Gardening for Toad: Garden Seed
In the center of the hedge garden are four empty flowerpots. For moons 4 through 7, you must bring four seeds from the Mushroom Kingdom here.
The first seed lies just a few meters west of the garden in a small, lower-lying depression.
Pick up the seed and carry it to the four pots.
Throw it into any flowerpot. The order of the pots doesn’t matter.
The plant needs some time to grow. In the meantime, it’s best to complete other tasks in the Mushroom Kingdom.
Return to the garden later and touch the fully grown golden fruit to collect the Power Moon.
05: Gardening for Toad: Field Seed
From the hedge garden, head south to the Crazy Cap shop.
Behind or to the south of the shop, there are several trees in an open field.
The second seed lies between two trees.
Pick him up and carry him back to the hedge garden.
Throw the seed into an empty flowerpot and wait until the plant has fully grown.
Then touch the golden fruit to obtain the Power Moon.
06: Gardening for Toad: Pasture Seed
Head to the western side of the Mushroom Kingdom. There you will find the sheep pasture with the sombrero-wearing Toad.
South of the sheep enclosure stands a solitary tree near the outer edge of the land.
The third seed lies directly under this tree.
Pick up the seed and take it to the hedge garden on the eastern side of the Peach’s Castle.
Plant it in a free pot.
After some time, a golden fruit will grow. Touch it to collect the Power Moon.
07: Gardening for Toad: Lake Seed
Go to the large lake in the southwestern part of the Mushroom Kingdom. Dorrie is swimming there.
Dive to the bottom of the lake. The fourth seed is located below or near Dorrie.
Pick up the seed and float it to the surface of the water.
Then take him to the hedge garden east of the Peach’s Castle.
Throw the seed into the last free pot and wait until the plant is fully grown.
Touch the golden fruit to obtain the fourth Power Moon of the Toad Flora quest.
08: Grow a Flower Garden
Immediately north of the hedge garden are numerous closed flower buds.
The plants form two overlapping circles.
Stand exactly in the middle of the smaller circle.
Perform a spin throw with Cappy. To do this, rotate the left stick completely in a circle once and then throw the cap.
Cappy flies in a circle around Mario and should touch all the buds within a short time.
The Power Moon appears as soon as all the flowers bloom simultaneously.
09: Mushroom Kingdom Timer Challenge
Northeast of the Peach’s Castle, a scarecrow stands next to a parked scooter.
The Power Moon appears far away in the Goomba Forest after activation. It’s nearly impossible to cover the distance on foot within the time limit.
Therefore, first get on the scooter and drive it directly next to the scarecrow.
Get off your bike and throw Cappy at the scarecrow.
Jump right back on the scooter and drive down the hill at full throttle.
Follow the path towards the Goomba Forest. Avoid large jumps and collisions with trees, as each collision will cost valuable time.
The Power Moon hovers on a small rise at the end of the track.
Ride your scooter right through the moon before it disappears again.
10: Found at Peach’s Castle! Good Dog!
A small dog is running around near the Crazy Cap store or the Odyssey.
Approach him and play with him for a moment until he follows Mario.
Lead the dog to the southeastern part of the Mushroom Kingdom.
There is a small hill with flowers there, from which you can look out over the Odyssey and the fountain.
The dog begins sniffing on the hill and eventually digs at a specific spot.
Perform a ground pound on the marked spot.
This reveals the buried Power Moon.
11: Taking Notes: Around the Well
To the west of the Peach’s Castle stands a large stone fountain.
There is a green tube on the outside of the fountain. Enter it to enter a two-dimensional section.
Run around the outer wall of the fountain, avoiding the Goombas and other obstacles.
At the end of the path floats a colored treble clef.
Touch the symbol. Numerous musical notes will then appear along the route you have just traveled.
Turn around immediately and run back in the opposite direction.
Jump over the obstacles and collect all the notes before the time limit ends.
Once you have collected the complete series of notes, the Power Moon will appear.
12: Herding Sheep at Peach’s Castle
On the western side of the Mushroom Kingdom, a sombrero-wearing Toad stands in an empty sheep pen.
In total, six sheep are spread across the entire area:
- A sheep is wandering around near the large lake.
- You can find another one at the two-dimensional fountain west of the castle.
- Two sheep are on opposite sides of the Goomba Forest.
- A sheep is wandering around on the eastern edge of the Mushroom Kingdom.
- The last sheep is located near the Odyssey, or rather the painting on the ground.
Run behind a sheep to make it move in the desired direction.
With a cap throw, you can catapult the animal a good distance forward. However, align yourself carefully before throwing so that the sheep doesn’t fall over a cliff.
Drive each animal to the western enclosure and through the small opening in the fence.
Once all six sheep have returned, the Toad will give you the Power Moon.
13: Gobbling Fruit with Yoshi
Use the scarecrow on the west side to get to the roof of the Peach’s Castle.
There’s a white egg with green spots. Jump on it to hatch Yoshi, then capture him.
A total of 30 fruits are distributed throughout the entire mushroom kingdom.
You can use Yoshi’s tongue to eat fruit from a greater distance. Point Yoshi at a fruit and press the action button.
Many fruits are located around the castle moat, on the roofs of the palace, near the towers, and close to the main entrance.
You can find more fruit at the Crazy Cap shop, in the hedge garden, in the sheep pasture, at the Goomba Forest and on the trees around the large lake.
Use Yoshi’s flutter flight to reach higher fruits.
After Yoshi has eaten the first ten fruits, the meter fills up completely and the first Power Moon appears.
14: Yoshi’s Second Helping!
Capture Yoshi again on the roof of the Peach’s Castle and continue the search for the fruit.
To get the second Power Moon, Yoshi must have eaten a total of 20 fruits.
Pay particular attention to the treetops, the area around the Goomba Forest, and the outer walls of the castle.
Some fruits are floating high above the ground. Jump with Yoshi and hold down the jump button to use his flutter flight.
You can use your tongue to collect fruit while jumping.
The Power Moon appears as soon as the gauge is filled for the second time.
15: Yoshi’s All Filled Up!
To get this Power Moon, you have to eat all 30 fruits in the Mushroom Kingdom with Yoshi.
It is recommended to drain the castle moat before moon number 16. This will make the fruit at the castle much easier to reach.
Systematically search all major areas:
- the roof and towers of the Peach’s Castle
- the moat and the back of the castle
- the fountain and the Goomba forest
- the sheep pasture and the large lake
- the hedge garden and the eastern edge of the country
- the area around the Odyssey and the Crazy Cap store
Pay particular attention to fruits hanging high in trees or on isolated rocky ledges.
After Yoshi has eaten the last ten fruits, the meter fills up for the third time.
Then the Power Moon appears.
16: Love at Peach’s Castle
To obtain this Power Moon, you must first drain the moat surrounding the Peach’s Castle.
Jump into the water and dive to the bottom. There are four large posts or drain plugs in the entire trench.
Throw Cappy at each stake and pull it completely out of the ground.
After you have removed all four plugs, the water will drain from the castle moat.
Now go to the Goomba Forest and capture a Goomba.
Jump on all the other Goombas to build the tallest tower possible. There are ten Goombas available in total.
Walk with the Goomba Tower through the drained moat to the back of the castle.
There, a Goomba lady wearing a red hat is waiting on a raised platform.
Approach her with the complete Goomba Tower.
For a successful romance, you receive the Power Moon.
17: Toad Defender
Between the Peach’s Castle and the Goomba Forest, there is a niche under a small hill.
A Toad stands directly in front of the entrance, guarding the Power Moon inside.
Go to the Goomba Forest and capture any Goomba.
You don’t need a tall tower for this task. A single Goomba is sufficient.
Approach the Toad in the form of the enemy.
The guard gets scared and runs away.
Then enter the unlocked niche and collect the Power Moon.
18: Forever Onward, Captain Toad!
Captain Toad is sitting on the roof of the Crazy Cap store.
Use the wooden crates and the raised areas next to the shop to get onto the roof.
If necessary, perform a backflip and throw Cappy forward. Follow this with a diving headfirst dive to reach the roof edge.
Once you reach the top, you speak to Captain Toad.
He is delighted to see you again in the Mushroom Kingdom and presents you with the Power Moon.
19: Jammin‘ in the Mushroom Kingdom
To the west of the large fountain, or near the castle path, stands a Toad wearing headphones.
Talk to him. He wants to hear a piece of music that reminds him of a flat and blocky classic.
Open the music selection and play him any track in the 8-bit version.
Suitable examples include:
Ruins – 8 Bit
As soon as Toad hears the right kind of music, he starts dancing enthusiastically.
Then he gives you the Power Moon.
20: Shopping Near Peach’s Castle
Visit the Crazy Cap store near the Odyssey.
Talk to the yellow salesperson.
There you can buy the Power Moon for 100 gold coins.
