Interactive Map and Kingdom Guides

Super Mario Odyssey guide hub

Use our interactive Super Mario Odyssey map to find Power Moons, purple coins, checkpoints and important entrances. Select a kingdom, filter the markers you need, and mark collected items as complete.

The map covers 836 distinct Power Moon objectives. Multi Moons are worth three moons each, bringing the total from these objectives to 880 Power Moons. It also includes all 1,000 regional purple coins.

Choose a kingdom in the menu. Use the filters to show Power Moons, Moon Rock moons, purple coins or checkpoints. Select a marker to see its name, location and the relevant guide. The marker for an underground or bonus area may indicate its entrance rather than the exact interior position.

All 836 Power Moon objectives

Power Moons fuel the Odyssey and unlock new kingdoms and optional challenges. The map includes story moons and Multi Moons, hidden ground-pound locations, Moon Shard challenges, timer challenges, Koopa Freerunning races, Captain Toad rewards, secret rooms, Hint Art solutions, painting destinations and postgame Moon Rock moons.

Search by the official English moon name or its number to find a missing entry. Moon numbers match each kingdom’s in-game Moon List. For longer puzzles, open the linked illustrated walkthrough.

Find all 1,000 purple coins

Regional coins have a different shape in each kingdom and can only be spent in that kingdom’s purple-coin Crazy Cap shop. You can buy local outfits, hats, stickers and souvenirs with them.

Coins usually appear in groups. A coin marker represents a group and shows its quantity. Use the kingdom’s purple coin guide to compare the surrounding landmarks with the group descriptions and screenshots. Collecting one marker adds the whole group’s quantity to your checklist.

Every kingdom in Super Mario Odyssey

The kingdom selector covers Cap, Cascade, Sand, Lake, Wooded, Cloud, Lost, Metro, Snow, Seaside, Luncheon, Ruined, Bowser’s, Moon and Mushroom Kingdom, plus Dark Side and Darker Side. Changing the kingdom also changes the map image and the available filters.

Power Moons unlocked by Moon Rocks

After completing the main story, activate a kingdom’s Moon Rock to reveal extra Power Moons. These moons appear in their own filter so you can distinguish them from the original objectives. Their numbers continue the kingdom’s normal Moon List.

Dark Side and Darker Side

Dark Side and Darker Side are optional postgame destinations unlocked by collecting enough Power Moons. Dark Side includes the Broodal rematch and additional challenges. Darker Side contains the final endurance challenge, Long Journey’s End.

For Dark Side Hint Art, the marker shows where the Hint Art itself is located. The linked solution explains which other kingdom contains the hidden Power Moon and where to ground pound.

Checkpoints and entrances

Checkpoint flags help you choose a convenient starting point for each search. The map also marks important entrances, caves and bonus areas that are not fully shown on the overworld map. Check whether a marker describes an entrance before trying to find a moon directly at the displayed position.

English names and illustrated solutions

Power Moon markers use the official English names from the game. Open a marker to read the relevant instructions and follow its link to the full guide, where available. The screenshots remain attached to the matching objectives.

Search and filter locations

Turn categories on or off to keep the map readable. You can display only the collectibles you are currently seeking or hide completed items. The search also checks moon numbers, kingdom names and the available descriptions.

Compare your in-game Moon List with the map, then search for the missing number or name. On desktop, press / to focus the search box, + or − to zoom, and 0 to fit the map.

Save your collection progress

Mark collected moons and coin groups directly on the map. Progress is stored locally in your browser, without an account or sign-in. It remains available when you return using the same browser profile.

Export your progress to a file to keep a backup or move it to another device. Import that file in the other browser to restore the marked entries. Clearing browser data can remove locally saved progress, so export a backup before doing so.

Completing Super Mario Odyssey

The world contains 836 distinct moon objectives, worth 880 moons after counting Multi Moons. You can then buy additional moons at Crazy Cap shops until the counter reaches 999. A counter of 999 therefore does not mean there are 999 unique world locations.

For a comprehensive save file, also collect every regional coin, activate checkpoints and complete the game’s other collection lists. Use the map alongside our Super Mario Odyssey walkthrough for the individual kingdom solutions.
