Chapter 7-4: A Bone-Chilling Tale
The first key
Run right from the starting point until you reach a cloud that moves up and down. Jump with Luigi to the cloud and from there to the second floating platform on the top right. Cross the gap and drop down in front of the locked door. Enter the door on the right.
In the next section, a Nimbi will be beset by several opponents. Bowser’s fire breath is great for turning off the attackers quickly. Then talk to the rescued Nimbi. As a thank you will receive a key.
Returns to the previous area, rises again over the question mark blocks and opens the locked door.
Novbis Cloud Elevator
Save your score and follow the path to the right. Cross the clouds and hit the block of arrows. Switch to the 3D view with Mario to reach the underlying question mark block. Then you hover with Princess Peach over the larger gap.
On the other hand, you meet Autubi. Her friend Novbi is stuck in an ice block. Change to Bowser and thaw him with his fire breath. Novbi then heads back to the small temple near the storage block.
Return to Novbi and tell him you want to be taken upstairs. His temple works like an elevator and transports you to the upper level. Free all frozen nimbis along the way with Bowser’s fire breath and enter the next door on the right.
Several residents are also frozen here. Defrost them one by one and then talk to Hellbi. He tells you that the Rainbow Bridge to Opapis Shrine was destroyed. To restore them, you need the red, yellow and blue ball of Robi, Gelbi and Blaubi. Hellbi also gives you another key.
The Red Bullet by Robi
Returns with Novbis elevator and opens the locked door to the left of the Save Block. In the new section you jump against the red switch to move the building.
Then switch to the 3D view. Walk past the building on the left and past it until you discover a hidden door. Goes through and hovers in the next section with Princess Peach over the gap on the right.
Optional: Before you cross the gap, you can drop right into the abyss. On a lower cloud stands a large treasure chest. Inside is a Nimbi, who gives you an Ultra mushroom mix as a thank you. You can only receive this reward during the current chapter.
Defeat all opponents at Robi. Talk to him as soon as the air is clean, and you get the red ball.
The Yellow Ball of Gelbi
Return to the red switch and press it again. Then jump over the gap to the left of the door and defeat the opponents on the other side. Use Luigi’s super jump to reach the high door.
In the next section, run first to the right to the two question mark blocks. Then switch to the 3D view with Mario. This makes a path visible that leads to the right in the background. Follow the clouds until you can switch back to the 2D view.
On the left is a star. Collect him and roll over as a giant Mario all opponents on the next path. Once you arrive at an apparent impasse, you switch back to 3D view. Now you see another cloud path that this time leads to the left.
At the end you will reach a toilet house. Knock on the door and claim in conversation that you are a monster. Gelbi then comes out of his hiding place and hands you the yellow ball.
Optional catch cards
In the area with the red switch, there is an abyss to the left of the lower entrance. Let yourself carefully fall onto the cloud below the main level and enter the warp pipe.
Inside, also switch to the 3D view to discover additional coins. Then jump with Luigi over the clouds. In the two treasure chests you will find the Skelebit catch card and the Skelebomber catch card. Then return through the warp pipe.
The Blue Ball of Blaubi
For the last ball, you must return to the section where you received the first key at the beginning. Run right there and cross the pillars. The last pillar looks inconspicuous at first, but turns out to be a hidden warp pipe in the 3D view.
Optional: Enter the Warp Pipe and defeat the opponent in the room below. Then a treasure chest with the cooking disc 7 appears.
Then return to the top and use Luigi’s Super Jump to move beyond the clouds. Hold on the upper level left until you reach a small temple. Blaubi is stuck in a block of ice.
Defrost him with Bowser’s fire breath and talk to him several times. Since you spoke to Hellbi before, Blaubi finally remembers his name and his task. Thank you for the blue ball.
The Rainbow Bridge
Return to Novbi’s Temple and get transported back upstairs. Run through the door to Hellbi and follow the path to the right. Before the destroyed transition stands a white base.
Jump on the base and insert the red, yellow and blue ball one after the other. Then a large rainbow staircase appears that leads you to Opapis shrine.
Climb the stairs and enter the door. In the following area, the Nimbis fight against Frostschock’s army. Eliminates opponents on the ground best with Bowser’s fire breath.
Optional: Switch to the 3D view in front of the large white stairs and walk left behind the stairs. There is a hidden treasure chest with the Pieks-Skelebit-catching card.
Then climb the stairs, save your progress and enter the door to the boss fight.
Boss Fight: Frost Shock
Frostschock has 80 HP and attacks mainly with ice breath, falling Icicle and ice bullets. Pay attention to the bright ringing: It announces that shortly after Icicle fall from the blanket. If you are frozen by his ice breath, you must shake the Wii to free yourself quickly.
The intended tactic works with Thoreau. Catch either a dropped Icicle or one of the ice bullets that fires frost shock. Then jump up and throw the projectile against his head. Only hits on the head cause reliable damage.
The fight with Luigi is much easier. Stand directly under Frostschocks head and charge his super jump. Wait until Frostshock has finished his current attack, and then let Luigi rush up. If you hit the chin or head, you can often jump to frost shock once or twice after the impact.
Avoid his horizontal ice breath by running to the opposite side in time. Against the Icicle it is usually enough to stop between two marked drop points. Repeat the super jump a few times and the ice dragon is quickly defeated. An item to increase your attack power also shortens the combat, but is not usually required in the Luigi tactic.
After the victory follows a longer cutscene in which Luvbi’s true destiny is revealed. At the end, you will receive the eighth Pure Heart and thus close chapter 7.
