Recipes in Super Paper Mario
In Super Paper Mario you can have numerous items processed into new dishes by the two cooks Saffron and Dillia. Many recipes improve the healing effect of the ingredients used, eliminate poison or give you special abilities at times.
Some ingredients can be exchanged for each other and still lead to the same result. The combinations mentioned below therefore each represent a safe and easily traceable preparation route.
Saffron and Dillia

If the selected ingredient or combination does not fit a valid recipe, a failure usually results. However, the failed court is not completely useless: it restores at least 1 HP and eliminates a poison.
The Recipe Master
In the kitchens of Saffron and Dillia there is a recipe master. On this device you can look up recipe tips, required ingredients and already unlocked entries.
- Both recipe masters access the same stored data.
- An inserted cooking disc is therefore automatically registered on both devices.
- The cooking discs serve only as reference works. You can also prepare a dish before you have found the corresponding disc.
- Successfully prepared dishes are registered in the game’s recipe directory.

Particularly useful in the Hundred Rooms Duel Tower
Notration usually heals only 10 HP. In the Hundred Rooms Duel Tower of Flipside or Flopside, however, it restores 50 HP. This makes it one of the most practical healing objects there. Among other things, it can be produced from a fire burst and a mushroom mix.
The Space Food has a similar special effect: it usually heals 10 HP, but restores 50 HP in space.
