Chapter 8-4: Tippi and Count Bleck

Mario is on his own

After Luigi’s disappearance, Mario is the last remaining hero. Tippi and the Pixl continue to accompany him, but Princess Peach, Bowser and Luigi are no longer available as playable characters.

Runs through the first long corridor to the right. Numerous enemies block your way, including poisonous plants and various curses. Switch to the 3D view and walk past most dangers. If you still want to collect points or hope for dropped healing objects, you can of course also fight the opponents.

Approximately in the middle of the room are three question mark blocks. The two outer ones contain mushrooms, while from the middle only comes a coin. Use the mushrooms if necessary before walking right through the door.

The next room seems empty at first. Point the Wii at the screen and scan the rear right area with Tippi. It makes visible a hidden door through which you continue your way.

Over the movable pillars

In the next section you will have to jump over numerous pillars that move continuously up and down. Wait until the next pillar has reached a favorable height, and then jump on.

After a few jumps, a wall blocks your path. Switch to the 3D view with Mario, walk past the wall on the left and then towards the background. Then return to the 2D view and continue your jumps.

On the second wall it works similarly. This time you switch to the 3D view, move first to the right and then run behind the wall. Then it goes back to 2D.

Optional: Shortly before the end, you can jump on a higher column to the left of the direct path. In the question mark block there is an Ultra Mushroom that restores 50 HP. If possible, lift it until you actually need the healing.

Reach the door on the right and enter the next section.

The key among the platforms

Again, you have to jump from one moving platform to the next. Stay as high as possible so that you do not fall into the abyss and have to repeat the section.

After a few jumps, you reach a larger, immovable platform in the middle of the room. Switch to the 3D view. To the left of the platform, a hidden green warp pipe becomes visible.

Go down into the warp pipe. At first, the room underneath looks like a dead end. Switch back to the 3D view and examine the rear wall. At the bottom is a tiny opening.

Equip Dottie and let Mario shrink. Run through the small passageway and open the treasure chest on the other side. Therein lies a Knickwitz key.

Returns through the opening and the warp pipe. Then jump over the moving platforms further to the right and open the locked door.

The Grey Giants

In the next corridor, several large grey enemies await you. Each of them has a lot of CP, so a normal fight can take a long time.

The quickest way to get there is to switch to the 3D view with Mario and walk through between enemies. If you want to defeat them, you can use Thoreau: grab one of the giants and hurl it against another. This damages both opponents.

Follow the corridor to the door at the right end.

The First Labyrinth

In the following rooms, numerous narrow corridors form a multi-storey labyrinth. Most of the passages can only be seen in the 3D view. Pay attention to the wall openings with the slightly wider frame. You can move to the next gear.

Switch directly behind the entrance door into the 3D view and take the first passage on the right. Continue walking through the transverse aisles until you stop moving to the right in the 3D view.

Switch back to the 2D view. Defeat the opponents in the corridor or jump over them and run all the way to the right. In the treasure chest at the end you will find a shooting star.

Then return a piece. Switch back to the 3D view and go one passage to the left. Runs in this corridor completely towards the background. There you will find the door to the next labyrinth.

The Second Labyrinth

Switch immediately into the 3D view and take the first passage on the right. Run all the way back in this aisle. There is a treasure chest with a super-fungal mix that restores 20 HP.

Return to the previous gear and move completely towards the background. Take two passages on the left side.

In the following corridor, two openings lead further to the left. Which one you use does not matter for the solution. Afterwards, continue to the background until you reach the exit door.

The Third Labyrinth

The last labyrinth is a little more confusing. Switch to the 3D view and take the second passage on the right. Subsequently, change at the same height by a further passage to the right.

At the end of this area you will find a treasure chest with an ultra-fungal mix. This heals 50 HP and should be kept for the upcoming boss fights if possible.

Then return to the foreground. Alternatively, you can switch to the 2D view and walk left to the end of the aisle.

Switch to the 3D view again and take two passes to the right one after the other. Then go all the way back. There is finally the door that leads out of the labyrinth.

The Last Preparation

You reach a great staircase. There are no more puzzles waiting for you in this area.

Go up and hit the question mark block. Inside is an Ultra Mushroom that immediately heals 50 HP. If you have lost only a little energy, you can first leave the block and return to the previous memory point. After opening the block, the healing cannot be included in the inventory.

Make sure to save your game. Subsequently equip Slim as his ability is very helpful in the coming battles.

Enter the big door.

Boss Fight: Count Bleck

Mario and Tippi finally meet Count Bleck. During the conversation, it is finally confirmed that he is Blumiere and Tippi is his former mistress Timpani.

Tippi tries to dissuade Blumiere from his plan. However, Count Bleck believes that the destruction of the worlds can no longer be stopped, and begins the fight.

The first phase: the indestructible protective shield

At the beginning of the fight, you cannot do any damage to Count Bleck. The Dark Heart protects him with an insurmountable barrier.

Avoids his attacks and yet tries several times to jump on his head or hit him with a Pixl. After some unsuccessful attacks, an intermediate sequence automatically begins.

Bowser, Princess Peach and Luigi are back. Together, the four heroes bring the power of Pure Hearts back to life. The Dark Heart shield is destroyed and Count Bleck can now be injured.

The second phase: defeating Count Bleck

Count Bleck has 150 HP and an attack power of 8. His hits can therefore drain a significant part of your energy.

He uses several attacks:

Magic Shot: Count Bleck hurls a dark bullet in your direction. Jump over it or briefly switch to the 3D view.

Storm attack: The Count flies at high speed across the arena. Pay attention to which side he appears on and jump in time.

Slowdown Spell: A dark veil is placed over the arena and slows down your movements. The effect disappears by itself after a short time.

Teleportation: Count Bleck disappears and reappears elsewhere. Stay in the middle of the arena so you can react quickly to his new position.

Dark Vortex: Count Bleck creates a large black vortex that wants to suck you in. Once the vortex is formed, you have to run in the opposite direction. If you are drawn into it, you will suffer great damage.

The safest combat tactics

Luigi is particularly suitable for this fight. Stand with him on the floor under one of the floating platforms and charge his super jump.

Wait until Count Bleck flies over you or materializes near you. Let go of the super jump and hit it from below. This attack causes significantly more damage than a normal jump.

Equip additional slim. Activates his ability and stops motionless to avoid many shells and assaults. With the big black vortex, however, this tactic does not work – you have to run away from it.

Alternatively, you can use Mario and jump on the count’s head from the higher platforms. Bowser causes more damage, but is more difficult to control due to its low speed.

Do not attack continuously. First observe where Count Bleck appears, avoid his attack and then use the short moment when he stands still.

After several hits, his 150 HP are used up.

Dimenzio’s True Plan

After the victory, Count Bleck declares that the destruction of the worlds should actually stop with its end. However, the Dark Heart remains active.

Dimenzio appears and reveals that he has been using the heroes and Count Bleck for his own goals all along. He wants to destroy the existing worlds and then recreate them according to his personal ideas.

When Dimenzio attacks Count Bleck, Nastasia throws herself protectively before him and is hit hard. Dimenzio then uses Luigi, who is the ideal host for the Dark Heart according to the Dark Forecast.

Luigi is devoured by the Dark Heart. Dimenzio connects with him and transforms into super dimenzio.

Boss Fight: Super-Dimenzio

In the beginning, Super-Dimenzio is also invulnerable. Try a few times to attack his head or body. Your hits are fended off by the Dark Heart barrier.

Count Bleck, Nastasia, O’Chunks and Mimi finally unite their hope and connection. As a result, the Pure Hearts awaken again and destroy Super-Dimenzio’s shield.

At the same time, your HP will be fully restored. You can start the actual final battle with full energy.

Super-Dimenzio’s Values and Vulnerability

Super-Dimenzio has 200 HP and an attack power of 6.

His head has no defense and is his biggest weakness. His body, on the other hand, has a defense of 4. Attacks on arms, legs or torso therefore cause much less damage.

Focus all attacks on the head.

The attacks of Super-Dimenzio

Target: A crosshair appears on your character. Shortly thereafter, a projectile arrives at this point. Continue until the attack has passed.

Continuous Fire: Multiple crosshairs chase you and trigger a fast series of shots. Switch to Mario, switch to the 3D view and run around the giant enemy until the continuous fire ends.

Ground Pound: A large exclamation mark appears above your character. Super-Dimenzio then jumps up and crashes into your position. Run immediately to the left or right. You can also make yourself invisible with Slim, provided you stop completely in time.

Platform Shots: The floating platforms have faces and can fire white cubes at you. These projectiles move relatively slowly and can be handled with a jump.

Fist strokes and physical contact: Do not stand next to Super-Dimenzio’s hands or feet. Even touching your body can harm you.

The best attack method

Bowser is great for the final battle. Jump up the floating platforms until you’re approximately at the height of Super-Dimenzio’s neck or head.

Switch to Bowser and use the fire breath against the head. Due to Bowser’s increased attack power, Super-Dimenzio loses HP very quickly.

As soon as a crosshair or exclamation point appears, you end the attack. Activate Slim and stay still or switch to Mario to dodge in the 3D view.

You can also use Thudley. Jump from a higher platform to Super-Dimenzio’s head and run a ground pound. However, be careful not to fall past the side of the head and hit the more protected body.

Another possibility is to jump on one of the platforms at the height of his head and from there repeatedly perform normal jump attacks. Due to its size, you can often land two or three hits in succession.

Use your strongest attack items without restraint. After this fight, no other opponent is waiting for you. Star winds, thunder anger or other comprehensive attacks can shorten the fight.

Keep moving, attacking only the head and switching to Mario or Slim during dangerous attacks. Once Super-Dimenzio has lost his 200 HP, the last fight is won.

The End of the Dark Heart

Dimenzio is defeated, but leaves a remnant of his magic in the Dark Heart. This accelerates the destruction of the worlds once again.

Count Bleck realizes that only true love between him and Tippi can finally destroy the Dark Heart. The two return together to the place where the Dark Heart was created.

Blumiere and Timpani make an eternal vow of love to each other. Out of the power of their love, a new Heart emerges, the Dark Heart breaks and the destruction of all worlds is undone.

Castle Bleck Inner Sanctum disappear. During the credits, however, it can be seen that Blumiere and Timpani are reunited in a peaceful place.

After the end credits

Let the credits go through completely and then save your progress. After that, you can continue the adventure with the same score and complete non-completed side tasks.

The empire of the Sammer warriors in World 6 has been restored. On a new visit, you can now fight the complete duel of the 100 without the world being destroyed after the first battles.

This concludes the main story of Super Paper Mario.
