Rapid navigation

Tippi · Thoreau · Boomer · Slim · Thudley · Carrie · Fleep · Cudge · Dottie · Piekso · Dashell · Piccolo · Tiptron

Tippi

Location: Tippi accompanies Mario at the beginning of the game.

Point the Wii at the screen to use Tippi. With it you can examine people, opponents and eye-catching objects. For opponents, it tells you, among other things, their maximum HP, attack power and weaknesses.

Tippi also makes invisible doors, platforms, blocks and switches visible. Pay attention to areas where the cursor changes or Tippi reacts to a seemingly empty point.

Especially helpful:

  • Discover hidden doors and stairs
  • Make invisible blocks permanently visible
  • Show HP and weaknesses of opponents
  • Receive hints about puzzles and important people

After the end of the story, Tippi is no longer available. Your ability can then be replaced by Tiptron.

Thoreau

Location: Chapter 1-2 in Yold Town

Thoreau is the first Pixl to join Mario during the journey. You find him under a house in Yold Town.

With Thoreau you can take on many enemies and lying around objects. Then they can be thrown against other opponents, switches or obstacles.

Spiky, especially large or firmly connected to the underground world opponents can usually not be included. In several boss battles, you need Thoreau to hurl bullets or smaller enemies against the actual vulnerability.

Especially helpful:

  • They throw enemies at each other.
  • Activate remote switches
  • Transport blocks and special items
  • Shots in certain boss fights

Boomer ( Super Paper Mario )

Location: Chapter 2-1 in the Dark Ground

Boomer turns into a bomb at the push of a button. Place it at the desired location and then trigger the explosion.

The explosion destroyed cracked walls, certain blocks and numerous enemies. Boomer can also activate switches that should only be activated after a short delay.

The active hero is not damaged by Boomer’s explosion. You can stay next to the bomb.

Especially helpful:

  • Exploding cracks in walls and floors
  • Destroy yellow or cracked blocks
  • Multiple opponents at the same time
  • Resolving time-delayed switch puzzles

Slim (Pixl)

Location: Chapter 2-3 in Merlee’s Mansion

Slim turns the current hero sideways, so that he is only as thin as a sheet of paper. This allows you to get through narrow grids, wall columns and other narrow openings.

If you stop completely during use, numerous enemy attacks pass through you. Slim is therefore also suitable for defense against projectiles, assaults and falling obstacles.

Once you move, the protection against attacks ends. Wait until the danger is completely over.

Especially helpful:

  • Crossing narrow grids and columns
  • Overcoming Laser Barriers
  • Missiles and direct attacks
  • Surviving dangerous boss attacks

Thudley

Location: Chapter 3-2 at the bottom of the tile bath

Thudley allows the heroes a powerful Ground Pound. Jump into the air and activate it to fall down with great force.

The attack causes more damage than an ordinary jump. In addition, large ground switches can be operated, piles can be rammed into the underground world and certain blocks can be destroyed from above.

Especially helpful:

  • Cause additional damage during jump attacks
  • Activate large ground switches
  • Destroying Blocks Under a Platform
  • Several close opponents meet

Carrie

Location: Chapter 3-4 in the basement of Fort Francis

Carrie transforms into a floating platform where the current hero can ride. During the journey you move faster than on foot.

With Carrie, you can glide over Spike Trap and other dangerous ground surfaces. The Pixl also protects against many enemies who would normally hurt you by touching from below.

Bowser is particularly strong on Carrie: he keeps his fire breath and at the same time compensates for his low running speed.

Especially helpful:

  • Crossing stinged fields safely
  • Long distances travel faster
  • Small opponents overrun
  • Make Bowsers more agile

Fleep

Location: Chapter 4-2 on Planet Blobule

Fleep waits in a toilet house and joins you after you have brought him the required paper.

Directs Fleep at eye-catching dimensional cracks, images or markings. He turns these around and makes hidden doors, switches, keys and treasures appear.

Fleep can also be used against opponents. Many enemies are briefly confused by turning over and can be attacked safely. Certain projectiles can also be turned over or rendered harmless.

Especially helpful:

  • Exposing hidden switches and doors
  • The treasures of the 48 Treasure Maps
  • Antagonists briefly stun
  • Shooting Back Certain Boss Bullets

Cudge

Location: Chapter 5-2 in a high shrine

Cudge gives the current hero a big hammer. The hammer causes a lot of damage and can hit opponents who can not jump safely.

In addition, Cudge destroys large yellow blocks and other particularly stable obstacles. Some hidden areas in Flipside, Flopside and already completed chapters only become accessible with him.

Especially helpful:

  • Attacking Armored and Spiky Enemies
  • Destroy large yellow blocks
  • Reaching hidden paths and treasure chests
  • Repulse opponents by hammer strike

Dottie

Location: Chapter 5-4 in the Florosapien caves

Dottie shrinks the current hero to the size of a tiny dot. In this condition you can walk through small doors, tubes and wall openings.

Most opponents no longer perceive the shrunken hero. If you touch an opponent directly, you can still suffer damage.

Dottie also allows you to enter the hidden mini-shops located in Flipside and Flopside, among others. In a shrunken state, you can even walk over water.

Especially helpful:

  • Crossing tiny doors and openings
  • Entering hidden mini shops
  • Unnoticed to pass by opponents
  • Running over water surfaces

Optional Pixl: Piekso

Early date of discovery: After completion of chapter 3-4

You first encounter Piekso at the beginning of chapter 3-1. He hides in a bush and gives you several clues while searching for Tippi. At this time, he is not joining the group.

Defeat Francis at the end of chapter 3-4 and save Tippi. Then return again after chapter 3-1 and examine the bush to the right of Mario directly at the start. Talk to Piekso again so he can join you.

Piekso creates for a brief moment a spiky barrier around the current hero. The barrier blocks many attacks and bullets. Opponents who touch the shield suffer damage at the same time.

The time window is very short. Activate Piekso immediately before an attack strikes.

Especially helpful:

  • Repel or repel projectiles
  • Stop storming opponents
  • Prevent damage and attack at the same time
  • Countering Boss Attacks with Good Timing

Optional Pixl: Dashell

Room 100 of the Flipside Pit of 100 Trials

To get Dashell, you must cross all 100 rooms of the Flipside Pit and defeat the robotic dragon Lohrack in the last room.

After the victory, a great treasure chest appears. Open it so that Dashell joins the group.

Press the Pixl button to run much faster. Dashell is particularly suitable for revisiting chapters, searching for map treasures and long distances through Flipside and Flopside.

During the sprint you can still jump. In narrow areas, however, your Dashell should be used carefully, as the high speed makes it difficult to control.

Especially helpful:

  • Shorten long distances significantly
  • Search already completed chapters
  • Avoid fast opponents
  • Accelerating treasure and trapping rounds

Optional Pixl: Piccolo

Early date of discovery: After the onset of the sixth Pure Heart

Piccolo is located in a large treasure chest in a locked house on the 1st. Level of flopside. You will only receive the required key after a longer exchange task.

The task begins with Merlee in Flopside. Speak to them from their side of the bar. Then the search leads you to Merluvlee, Bestovius, Uncle Passauf and Merlumina.

Piccolo plays a different tune for each of the four heroes. The music eliminates curses and other negative states. In addition, special blocks with Piccolos characters disappear when you play a melody right in front of them.

Piccolo also changes several sounds of the game characters. Mario’s jumps and Bowser’s fire breath, for example, get classic sound effects.

Especially helpful:

  • Removing Curses of Miseria, Amnesia, Obesia and Reversia
  • Make Piccolo blocks disappear
  • Reaching Hidden Treasure Chests and Catch Cards
  • Influence certain opponents through music

The complete sequence of the exchange task is described on a separate solution page.

Tiptrone

Location: Fort Francis after completion of main story

Tiptron is not an original Pixl, but a robotic copy of Tippi built by Francis. After the end of the story, Tippi can no longer be used. Tiptron therefore assumes its function.

After the credits, return to Chapter 3-4 and Fort Francis. Talk to Francis in his room. He sells you Tiptron for 999 coins.

Like Tippi, Tiptron can investigate opponents and people and reveal invisible doors, platforms, blocks and other secrets.

Since 999 coins are simultaneously the coin maximum, you have to spend all your money before buying. Tiptron is still very useful for the sequel after the credits, as numerous catch cards, map treasures and secret rooms without Tippi’s ability can hardly be found.

Especially helpful:

  • Tippis Ability to Replace After the Credits
  • Making invisible objects visible
  • Show opponent values and background information
  • Finding still open secrets and collectibles
